Due to no L train service between Metropolitan Avenue-Lorimer Street, Brooklyn and 8th Avenue Manhattan, M trains were extended to the 96th Street-2nd Avenue Q train station via 6th Avenue, 63rd Street and 2nd Avenue
This video shows M and Q trains at 72nd Street-2nd Avenue featuring Pullman Standard R46s, Westinghouse Amrail/Francorail R68s, Kawasaki R68As, and Alstom R160A-1s with the Despicable Me 4 door wrapped R160A-1
Should catch those door ad wraps on the M soon before it's too late
What a pleasure to see the R160 M trains running on this completely recent section of the Q North Manhattan as an infrastructure reminiscent of the era of the R160 Q trains (R160 + modern stations = absolute modernity) with a bit of R68 but the R46 It's really ugly and old.
I think they should keep the M to 96th as its permanent northbound terminus
Why did the M Train go to 2nd Ave via the Q Line?
It was due to no L train service between Metropolitan Avenue-Lorimer Street, Brooklyn and 8th Avenue-14th Street, Manhattan. M trains provided supplemental service between Brooklyn and Manhattan.
