Made this trip many times in my youth back in the late 70's...Family was stationed @ Lakenheath, dad was in the Air Force, some of the best yrs of my life!!!
I was stationed at RAF Mildenhall from Jan 1967-1969 and billeted at RAF Feltwell. Made the trip daily on n Morly's Grey Coaches(contract service). Would have been cool if you would have had to stop at the rail crossing with the gates!! When I was at Feltwell there were no trees on the entrance road. Spent a lot of time and £s at the West End Pub--Cheers mate, brings back some memories 😄
Hey Mark, I made the same trip from 73 to 76. We lived in the Village 73-74 and on base 75-77. I remember your name Mark. Thanks nickyb58 for the awesome videos, many families will love this. Hey remember Ms Shumway! lol You had to recognize the train tracks at 4:23.
Do u remember having to stop at that train track and an old man would come out of that little train hut and have to raise/lower the train guard manually???
Thank you so so much for the memories. I'm a bit teary eyed also. I was stationed at Lakenheath from March 81 to March 83. I made this drive everyday when I lived in the barracks at Feltwell.
