Having done both, I think voltron is the ‘better’ coaster, but I enjoy Hyperia more. Voltron is obviously better for the length and variety of intense elements, but that first drop on Hyperia is just so good, the weightlessness at the back and the speed combined on the first drop hit both of my favourite things in a coaster. Both world class for sure
Are you teleporting with teslas invention from Europapark to Thorpe park and back to ask people. How impressive
I drove to Voltron in a tesla😂
They needed to do more with Hyperia. It really needs at least two more significant elements.
Yeah get rid of the trim, just add a few more twists and turns at the end, wouldn't be the worst choice. No idea why they opted for something short and also have a nasty trim as well. They should've just reprofiled so they didn't need the trim.
@@WelshGuitarDude it's always the Money.
@@no1segate606 they could have saved a bit longer other parks equally popular in Europe manage to
@@WelshGuitarDude sure but it's a Merlin Park. So it's not like Europa-Park which is family owned and they can do whatever they want. I know it's stupid but that's capitalism
Voltron for sure gets my vote, Hyperia is fun & each element is pretty elite, but Voltron is so much longer, has a variety of elements & forces, and some of the hills in Voltron have so much more ejector airtime than Hyperia. Glad to be a drive away from Hyperia, but I'll be back to Voltron again soon for sure!
I've ridden both. Quite a few rides too. Hyperia. I can't believe nobody on the video mentioned the drop or stall. Both amazing.
Super excited for my trip from the UK to ride Voltron in March to celebrate my 50th on the parks 50th birthday.
Happy for you that you're still riding coasters at your age!
Such a fun way to do the comparison to let friends vote. That's the great thing about your channel: You can have heated discussions amongst nerds but while at it you always take it seriously to have fun.
So far, Voltron is the sleeper hit of 2024! Looks like an amazing ride, with great elements :)
COASTER STUDIOS! My favorite coaster channel!
Voltron ACCELS in theming and special effects like a moving up and down track piece with a launch. a BEYOND VERTICAL LAUNCH. a turntable. and excellent inversions. this also comes with cart technologys allowing ride ops to tap the card on the seats and have them lower perfectly allowing you to get airtime but also feel secure. the length of the ride is also insane. I think Voltron easily blows out hyperia.
It's a clear win for Voltron, but, if Hyperia had the same ride time as the V-dog (with a launch/another lifthill/a mid course brakes with a forceful second half) then I would hand it to Hyperia.
For example, if the V-dog ended at the turntable, I would hand it to Hyperia.
V-dog?
A Tanner appearance in a Coaster Studios video is always a plus!
as someone who has ridden both multiple times (i’ve had night rides on both too), theres no competition, voltron is so much better. hyperia sits at my #6 while voltron took my #1 spot away from ride to happiness. thorpe park is also my home park, and while hyperia is really fun, its nowhere near the level of voltron.
hello
You mean your number 2 spot right? Zodiac is obviously better in every way.
I have done both & while I prefer Voltron, im so so so glad we got Hyperia here in the UK. I was at opening day for Hyperia and ive never been more excited and buzzed up to be in a 6 hour queue... Was it worth that queue, No.... But the atmosphere that day was incredible and something ill never forget.
I then did Voltron in September (On my Birthday, may I add 😅), and my already high expectations were exceeded. The airtime and positives on Voltron, mixed with the powerful/punchy launches (Especially for a Mack), more than made it a better ride. Combine that with the theming, area & queue line 🤯
One thing I will add, They both have some of the best soundtracks for a coaster out there. They both fit each ride perfectly and I could listen to them both all day!
It's like comparing a bbc pizza to a Chocolate Chip Cookie( voltron and hyperia) They're too different. They all have their pros and cons but it's just not realistic to compare them. It's like when people compare Shambhala with BGCE. Like what?!?
One point for Hyperia in your video, it's from my buddy Fabian. We both rode Hyperia together for the first time, and we were so excited. A month later I rode Voltron, and after the first ride in the morning I was speechless. It is a completely masterpiece, from the entry through the queue, the ride and the exit. Definitely one point more for Voltron. But I don't like the coaster comparisons. Both are incredible coasters, and I'm really happy to have two more great coasters here in Europe. 😊
Voltron's easily better. It didn’t break down nearly as much as Hyperia.
Damn
How much a ride breaks down shouldn't impact on your opinion of the ride experience
@@Coaster-Madness But it does impact on whether it should be the best coaster of 2024.
That affects the ride experience in absolutely no way
@@iliketrains3546 I'm not saying that the ride experience on Hyperia is worse because of it breaking down a lot, but the fact that for almost a month, thousands of people couldn't even get the chance to ride it, I wouldn't exactly call that great ride experience.
I thought I'd prefer Hyperia, just because I usually prefer "normal" long trains and the forces you get there in the last row...and the nice flow and speed. But Voltron is just so crazy, intense and never ends. I wish it would't have this break at the turntable, but I get why it's there...and think it would really be too intense for the general Europa-Park visitors without it. But I also agree with others: If the 2nd half of Hyperia wouldn't be missing, it would be a really close battle.
I’ve been waiting so long to see you guys’ make this! I’m so happy right now!!!
Ridden Voltron after 850 mile 3 day road trip and live 30 minutes from hyperia and not been bothered to go.
From a quick view of your thumb nail though you were putting Voltron up against storm surge😂
haha similar case here, still not ridden Hyperia, but Voltron like a million times 😂
Can't speak for Voltron but Hyperia managed to crack my top 10 and thats woth 735 coasters under my belt.
Hyperia may not be in my top 10 much longer though since I am riding Batman Gotham City Escape tomorrow first time
yo 735? you are truly dedicated
@@foofoo-g9o Yep I love Rollercoasters and Theme Parks, my only true Hobby I have is to go out and ride as many as I can
I haven’t ridden Hyperia, but for sure Voltron is better, the theming is better, the length is better, there are lunches, which I prefer personally, it’s my number 2 coaster after F.L.Y, it’s just awesome ( I rode Voltron 73 times )
Besides the weird outward banked turn and the beyond-vertical launch, Hyperia also has two great elements that are definitely better: the first drop and that strange outward banked roll thing - just chef’s kiss. However, I would still say that Voltron is the better ride. Because if a ride offers two great and outstanding elements but nothing else when it comes to elements and overall experience, is way too short, and has almost no theming, the answer should be clear. Yes, Hyperia is intense, but so is Voltron. And Voltron just throws you through its layout with so many elements - it’s absolutely crazy. Definitely one of the best rides out there and truly one of a kind.
When I saw the first POV of Voltron, I was a little disappointed. But the track is just extremely intense, even at such a low altitude and comparatively less speed than Hyperia. It's just crazy how intense and crazy this ride is.
Whoever didn't drove it, should do it
Even with my UK bias, I have to say Voltron looks like the better ride. Hyperia is phenomenal and I will get to ride Voltron next year so we will see if my opinion changes haha
Whenever I've ridden Hyperia, it's always been more consistent than Voltron, providing more smoothness and far more sustained Negative G's. Voltron had slower trains and faster trains, the latter of which were unpleasantly rough. I barely felt the intense Positive G's people rave about, whereas on Hyperia, there's a welcome amount of force at the base of the first drop. It's a shame because I was expecting to adore Voltron, came away disappointed by most of my rides on it due to how inconsistent and painful it could be. The trains unfortunately detract from a coaster that has the potential to be one of the best in Europe.
If I had to rate Mack's thrill coasters I've ridden so far:
1. Ride To Happiness
2. Helix
3. Hyperia
4. Blue Fire
5. Icon
6. Lost Gravity
7. Voltron
Hope Voltron! Gonna Go to Europapark this year .
You don't even know, how good that thing is
I‘m so exited cause of all The good thinks I heard
Voltron is just such an amazing all round experience
Man Hyperia doesn’t get enough love 😢 imo besides Hyperion, diamondback and apollo’s chariot it’s probably the best Hyper in the World.
As someone who's been on both, definitely Voltron. I just love the length and elements and the launch. Hyperia feels wayy too short and doesn't have the 'wow' factor that Voltron had for me. Also the theming on Hyperia is non existent.
These are also the 2 best new for 2024 coasters
Great comparison video Taylor And Sarah 😊.
I've not managed Voltron yet (should be going Europa in summer next year), but I think it looks the better overall ride than Hyperia (despite it being my current no1). I just think the length and theming especially beat out the adrenaline rush that is Hyperia.
For me it’s clearly Voltron. I liked it a lot when I first rode it in June and when I rode Hyperia in October and got a back row night ride with much room, I was like damn that was so good, I was out of my seat the whole time and I thought okay I might like Voltorn better, but it’s close. But then I got some more rides on Voltron in November and these rides were even better than the ones in June, it was so much smoother and the airtime was so much stronger. I also then got my first ride on the right seat in the back row and that caught me offguard. So what I think of these 2 is that Hyperia is more like a floaty ride that feels like one big element and you‘re out of your seat the whole ride, but in a very gentle way and Voltron just tries to kill you with ejector, but also offers some other great forces, great hangtime, great leterals etc. It’s just more aggressive and Hyperia is more gentle. Also i wish Hyperia had a few more elements. So overall I think Voltron is the more complete package and has a bigger variety of forces and is more aggressive than Hyperia. That makes it not that close for me actually. But Hyperia is still a fantastic ride which I adore, but Voltron in my opinion is on another level.😁
It was great meeting you at your detour to Alton Towers 🥳😄 Let us know if you're coming back to the Switzerland area, we'll gladly show you around 😉
thanks for being a part of the video, great to meet you all!
So everyone agrees. Long length and not finishing too soon make for a more satisfying experience.
Voltron is 100% my number one and there's nothing in Europe gets close. Hyperia is an excellent coaster and superb addition to the UK.
Loved the channel for 6 years! Easily voltron for me
Voltron wins so easily
Hi Dan, I didn't know that you're a fan of Coaster Studios.
It's not even close
I have ridden both but they are so different. Voltron has the whole package but the drop and outbank inversion on Hyperia in unbeatable
I've ridden neither and I vote Voltron.
I also prefer Voltron. Hyperia is awesome, but Voltron has a way longer ride duration and some extreme Airtime Moments. Hyperia is awesome as well anyways🤩
Hyperia vs Hyperion?
I think hyperia looks way better
For me, I initially thought Hyperia looked better before riding it but I think Voltron wins for me. It's got a better lenght and better theming, and of course it has launches (I love launches so much), hyperia however has some of the most amazing elements ever and they're very unique too, I think hyperia is more intense. The thing I don't like of voltron is the rattle of course, it can be really uncomfortable sometimes. But they're respectively my number 4 (number 3 if I get a smooth ride) and number 5 so yeah that's relatively close for me.
I still not ride Hyperia (Only at April 2026) but I rode Voltron 70 times (And 43 times in one day (301 inversions lmao)) and I still don't think Hyperia can beat Voltron, but I'm not valid on this debat ^^'
The video we’ve all been waiting for. What is everyone’s favorite coaster studios video?
Voltron is just so crazy, gotta be Voltron
Good Gravy.
1 to 11, wow! That's like the Bears playing any other football team.
I don't have to watch the whole video now. Thanks!
Not the tanner tucker comment “the ejector is crazy”
Without riding it i can say definitely Voltron as it looks like one of the best in the world
Hyperia for me, simple reason much more intense.
Voltron better in almost everything, besides maybe height speed and the roll thing. But Voltron is way more consistent, in a very good way. Even it's first half maybe slightly longer in duration than hyperia and every single element on it hits just right
Voltron for sure
Rode both, I prefer voltron assuming I get a non-shaky train.
Hyperia is just too short.
Ridden Voltron, haven't ridden Hyperia. Hyperia looks insanely good, but it's just too short. Voltron's ride time is just elite.
Voltron is literally like if you took the level of theming and variety in elements of Hagrids and gave steroids to it
I’ve only ridden Hyperia and it’s amazing, but Voltron looks better tbh
5:11 Voltron is a "grower"!!
🎢😮🎉
I think Voltron although Hyperia is awesome!!
Blast from the past is coaster versus returning???
I've not done either yet but it was always gonna go this way
Def Voltron 👍🏻
the video i’ve been waiting for, although hyperia is number 1, voltron looks better.
I prefer voltron, it sits at my nr 2 spot, but hyperia still sits ib my top 10
Hyperia is the Mack version of a B&M dive machine. A more interesting comp debate would be Helix vs. Voltron
No it’s really not similar to a b and m dive coaster at all. Hyperia has got some of the most creative, best elements in the world While a b and m dive coaster has your bog standard boring elements with no airtime at all.
Can I get a hi from coaster studios?
Ooo this should be an interesting one
Might be controversial. Hyperia has some of the best elements on any coaster. If it had the length of any normal hyper coaster it would 100% be number 1. Hyperias pace slows down so much after the stall which ruins it for me. Voltron is relentless. It doesnt stop. I dont really care about length as long as a coaster feels complete. Hyperia doesnt feel complete. Voltron does and that just makes it better. If mack built another hyperia styled coaster but with the length, it would easily be one of the best coasters ever.
Let’s pray and wait for the day Silver Star will need replacement 🙈 Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great hyper but if Mack redid it in the way of Hyperia Europa Park would would potentially kill it 🙈
Are Coaster Battles Back?????
I would say top thrill 2 is the better coaster, tbh
Hyperia is good but it has lost potential, it needed a few more elements. And to have some more length.
Voltron all the way
Hyperia looks great, but there is no comparison, in my opinion. Voltron could be the best coaster in the world. Between the theming and all the combined elements its the total package for a roller coaster.
Voltron or Ride to Happiness?
"It's a grower" lol
Hyperia looks like it would be top 5 in the in the US
It’s not in the US
Better pace on Hyperia? Hmmm Idk about that
Voltron and it’s not close, stronger airtime, more whip on inversions, it’s insanity. I love Hyperia but apart from first drop Voltron wins in every way
Hyperia is not more intense than Voltron… airtime is just longer Hyperia but way more powerful on Voltron
Voltron
Im in an odd position. I live 40 minutes from Thorpe Park. Ridden Voltron but not Hyperia.
Lol that’s funny
@@CoasterStudios Yup, i have been to Germany, Turkey and Spain to ride coasters this year. Will have attempt 2 at getting on Hyperia in the New Year.
Me too I’m off junction 6 of M3 and never ridden hyperia!
did ride to happiness 2 days after Voltron after watching there summer plans video saying going to ride Voltron, decided to go there next day on my motorbike tour of Europe.
Both excellent rides.
Think Alton towers should use a Mack spinner as a cross valley coaster now magnetic launches have perfected to get back up hill.
@ well small world indeed. I’m Basingstoke too.
I have done more euro coaster trips than the UK the last few years.
Hyperia got absolutely DESTROYED! lol.
If hyperia was longer i would think it prob has a chance to be better its just to short and i like voltron more
Voltron. Clearly.
They seem close but Voltron has the longer layout and better collection of elements and better theming wben though Hyperia has better elements but less of them and is much bigger in size.
neither, iron menace at Dorney, yes I am biased
And yet, I'm still waiting to ride Voltron (I live in the UK)
Haven't ridden Hyperia but I'd probably vote Voltron regardless just because the construction is a lot more impressive, better planned, unique elements and just innovative. Hyperia just has "bigger numbers" but isn't really unique.
Hyperia is the probably the worlds most unique hyper coaster so I’m not sure what you’re on about there
@@iliketrains3546 yeah when i see people call hyperia not unique i havent a clue what they are on about, Coasters dont get much more unique than that. There simply isnt another layout like it.
Can't speak for Hyperia, but with at least 40 rides I can say I have been growing more and more tired of it. I like the seats and restraints, but apart from that I would ride Untamed - I think they copied a couple of elements from here - any time over it. "IF" they should manage to remove the rattling, I might be open for re-assassment.
I knew Voltron would win before I even clicked on the video
Voltron.
if hyperia was longer
Team Hyperia
I thought it wasn’t about the length!!! It’s about the motion!! 😬
why comparing two completely different styles of coaster ?
because everyone else is! its become a very common conversation topic this year.
Well, either way Mack wins
Mack Produkt
i never been to voltron/europa park. but i LOVE hyperia, thorpe park is also my home park! Voltron reminds me of those gertslauer infinity coaster, just looks better. And it does look like a fun ride.
Voltron has theming! Hyperia’s station design was so lazy and cheap
