You did an excellent job on this cover. The Bass and Moog in this song work well together. That Moog always catches people thinking it is a traditional bass line but is the bass Moog line. Great job.
Despite me knowing all the members of this band personally and being an original member of Kinsman Daze, I remember going to the record store and copping this album the day it dropped! The entire album was excellent, not one poorly written song on it! I hope when the young kids hear this they just buy the entire album, and pick up the greatest hits albums by Slave (Steven Arrington was my friend and he's in the rock hall of fame), Lakeside and Slave were the killer funk groups of the 70s and 80s. And bro you did a great cover, the best I've ever seen on RUclips!
Keep playing playa. Very good job. I appreciate this and I’m a horn player. I can’t imagine how a bassist would be jamming right now ...presentation and transcription good also.
Thanks for the tab and the cover! I learned this song from you Would you be so kind to share the bassless song file? Whenever i try to remove the bass i lose the synth as well Thanks in any case Cheers
Hey there. Excellent playing. Anyways, I was wondering if that second set of "G-to-A" hammer ons on the E string at the end of the first measure on that middle part of the riff just before that plucked high D at the beginning of the measure of the main groove is really a "G-to-A slide" rather than it being hammered on? In the video I think I see you using a slide action on the fretboard, but the tablature says for it to be hammered on. What would be your recommendation for playing that part right? I have just started to study the bass and I am new to the funk stylings and I want to get this style down well enough to play for an audience so please instruct me well. Thanks for sharing! 😅 Adios! 😎
A killer bass line
Such a nasty bassline 🔥

Great cover.
One of the Funkiest songs in Funk genre. If only the written music was larger and easy to see.
I guess I'll be around as long as there are fender jazz basses are here

Nice, !!!
Fonky!
Énorme
Got the Lakeside stank, don't know who to thank.
Great job! What kind of bass is that?
It looks like a Warwick Corvette 5 string.
Sick dude! How’s your EQ balanced here?
The presence band is simply boosted with a preamp. Since auto-wah is applied, I think that the setting also has a fair effect.
Actually, all the plucking was recorded on the guitar :)
If you need a good arm workout just try playing it at 1.5x speed
Good idea👍
add a wah pedal to help phrasing!
wah pedal on this instrument
