Shigeru Suzuki was born in Tokyo 1952. He started his carrer with "Happy End (1970-1972)" as a lead guitarist. After disbanded, He turned to as a studio player and also made solo albums. This song "Hachigatsu no Nioi (Scent of August)" is included in his first solo "Band Wagon (1975)" Music was written by himself, and lyric was written by Takashi Matsumoto who was a drummer/lyricist of Happy End and have become one of most succeed lyricist in Japan. His playing style in this song is much influenced by Lowell George of Little Feat. He went to L.A. in 1972 for recording of album "Happy End (released in 1973)" and Lowell took part in it. And members of Happy End witnessed the recording session of "Dixie Chicken" . Shigeru asked Lowell about sound making, and stole his compressed slide guitar sound.
