I thought u we’re including elf since it was on the introduction picture 😕
Me too! Skint, old and wrinkly so needing a budget option!
Once my skin changed I finally gave up on elf. It just doesn't do anything good for the appearance of my face. I've found the best budget options for mature skin is the battle tested revlon and l'oreal.
I love ELF Flawless Satin Foundation, it's so great on my mature skin❤
I was using chantecaille for 90euro picked up the elf and ill never go back . Great stuff and im 45
Some of us are on very fixed income 66 here would love some advice on drug store love you Wayne
I’m 74 and I use and love Bare Minerals Original foundation. For 20 plus years!! Love your videos!❤️
I wish you had more delineation of these foundations...for what kind of skin and/or what situations each is best for. That said, love your videos, and appreciate you!
Yes! Me too.
I think Wayne assumes we're all more sophisticated than we are. I'm just a babe in the woods when it comes to makeup knowledge, and he's so much fun to learn from!
@@MyCleverHandle i LOVE HIM! ❤️
Me three. I get so depressed trying to find make up that doesn’t age me or sit in my wrinkles. I never really learned how to apply make up and got away with it for years… Now, with menopausal skin at 40 and hollowed out tear troughs and dark circles which make me look perpetually exhausted, I am here as a rank novice 😢
@@lucythomas8643 sounds like a hard time. Have you tried a moisturizing primer? but then so much more info is needed like what skin care products you use and then what you use before the makeup application. As a 40 yr old, I can absolutely vouch for Lancôme’ teint idole. I also use a retinol from my dermatologist and a serum and a korean moisturizer, but i’ll use any that don’t irritate my sensitive skin. There’s always a solution. Hang in there.
Wayne, it would be so helpful if you could describe with each foundation if it will be good for dry, combo, etc. skin. I have dry skin so have to rule out so many.
I’m 42 & just started using the new maybelline skin tint and it’s fantastic. It’s light and dewy and is now my favourite go to for everyday wear
Im about to turn 49 and fell in absolute love with Dior Forever Skin Glow last year. It's so beautiful, med coverage and not too matte or shiny. I have never liked liquid foundations, but this one is the best I've ever tried.
Me too
Also a huge fan of Dior forever skin glow.
HausLabs is hands down my go to. I’m 53 with hyperpigmentation, fine lines, redness. This foundation is so beautiful on my skin.
Interesting to hear! 57 years old here with the same problem - and dry skin. Have been thinking of trying HausLabs. Maybe it’s time. My goto over the years has been Dior Forever Glow, which I really like, but it would be fun to try something new.
@@Chihiro33333 I really love it. They have a huge shade range too.
I’m 42 and just discovered Hous Labs foundation. Got a sample from Sephora and will be going back to buy a full bottle. I swore off foundations for the last 5 years since everything I’ve tried ended up looking like I had makeup on and it was very obvious (and I don’t use much at all). Haus Labs one has none of that! It looked the same in the evening after work as it did in the morning and made my skin look like skin but better. I was super impressed! Also tried Nars but wasn’t nearly as impressed by it, although it’s not cakey either, just not as pretty and smooth looking. I guess I’m back in the foundation game!
@@irisflower9030 that’s how I felt about it too!
I'm sure these foundations are top notch. As a 50 year old, single parent, I can't spend $30 or more on 1 piece of make-up. I would love your opinions on more affordable products.
I am 51 and I like WET N WILD PHOTO FOCUS DEWY (because I tend to have more dry patches, but there is a mate version), it is cheap, and has been chosen by many RUclipsrs as an amazing dupe for very expensive foundations. To me it is a skin like foundation, enough coverage but not too obvious or cakey. For the days I want something that looks like my skin but healthier, I like L’Oréal Paris True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum, light but lasts long, covers enough, and leaves my skin looking and feeling great. There are many foundations, and concealers that are inexpensive, and as good or even better than high-end. After trying millions of mascaras from the cheapest to the most expensive, the best one is Maybelline Lash Sensational. I only spend on some expensive eyeshadows, as I think some of them are worth the money, but again, there are many amazing and cheap eyeshadow palettes. I hope you find the type of makeup that you can enjoy wearing.
Loreal True Match Foundation & L'Oréal Telescopic Mascara..both brilliant .. can't go wrong. I don't wear eyeshadow so can't help there!!
@@camila72 I have the Wet n Wild Focus matte version. It's pretty good.
NYX nudes palette is great and inexpensive
thanks for the Wet n Wild info, going to try this out - very affordable @@camila72
For people on a budget, especially with mature skin - loreal age perfect serum foundation(in the tube) is amazing. Also wet n wild tinted hydrator, Wet n wild dewy photo focus? I think it's called. All really good foundations
I second the wet n wild tinted hydrator. Also love Revlon Illuminance. Both of these are good for sensitive skin with no drying alcohols!
@@countrydreaming8002Revlon Illuminance foundation and their serum version are my work week, daily foundations. They're fantastic 😃😀
Hi Wayne any chance you could do some drugstore foundations as these arnt in a lot of peoples budget? Many thanks 😊
Go with a tinted moisturizer...just make sure it doesn’t say matte finish.
I love your videos, Wayne, and I’d LOVE a video on affordable foundations for over 40. I will not spend that kind of money on foundation, or any makeup for that matter!
Thank you - I am happy for those that can afford it, but at the moment I need some good deals
The e.l.f Camo Skin foundation is very hydrating and good for more mature skin I'm 46 and I love it. Also the Covergirl Simply Ageless foundation comes in both a liquid and a cream and they both look amazing I have combo skin so I can say both look good on my oil/dry and normal spots.
Revlon, L'Oréal, elf, nyx, wet wild all have good foundations now, even though their prices have increased significantly, they're all still under $20.
I can tell you that RCMA, Laura Geller and Mally all frequently send out really good coupon codes if you sign up on their websites. I'm talking 50% off or more.
I'm in the USA and it can be difficult to buy the right shade no testers anymore in drugstores, but you can get refunds with receipt and product left in bottle.
I have no clue whether the other foundations mentioned have periodic coupon codes but worth a shot.
Thanks, y’all! I definitely want a more affordable option and you’ve given me some that will work for my combo skin! 🫶🏼🫶🏼
@@tracyjohnson5023wow that's so amazing you can take make up back. Here in the UK u can't take any makeup back, there's hardly any testers. It can get really expensive if u don't choose correct straight away.
I loooove the Lancome Teint Idole as well! Definitely my holy grail!
I am using the $5 Believe foundation. I found the perfect shade and it is lovely on my 72 year old skin. Just as good as the more expensive brands.
You should try some of the Korean foundations. The K-beauty aesthetic is very much ‘skin should look like skin’. I’ve found that some of the most natural looking foundations I’ve ever seen were Korean foundations. My current favorite is the Jung Saem Mool, Essential Skin Nuder foundation. Jung Saem Mool is a makeup artist like yourself. So she really knows what a good foundation should look like.
Double Wear is my favorite and I've tried so many !
I have dry combination skin, I have been using estee lauder for almost 25 years, and I still love it. ❤
Hi Wayne! Love your channel!! My Holy Grail Foundation is…..,
Dior- Forever (Liquid Foundation).
I’m 56. This foundation doesn’t settle into my fine lines and wrinkles Outstanding wear time! 12 hours with a bit of loose powder on t-zone. Worth every penny!!
I am nearly 68 and have used the Jane Iredale PurePressed Base as my one and only HG foundation for several decades. I have always hated the feel of liquid foundation and my skin also was too reactive to most of them. No problems with the JI pressed mineral powder. But, as I've grown older, I have developed a few tricks that work well for me to prevent it from looking dry or cakey on aging skin: cream bronzer, cream blush and a touch of highlighter. I've also recently begun to use elf Halo Glow underneath as a primer/base.
Do you use the cream products first or after the foundation? I also hate the feel of liquid foundation but I haven’t figured out how to make powder foundation look good on me 😂
yes, - what order - I have always been a makeup/no makeup person, but can use a little help and I really am a little clueless
With the JI Purepressed, apply it with a flat topped brush and brush the skin downwards. Then use the JI face spray. I use the Pommist. Just looks better as the day wears on.
I have heard so much good stuff about this one … I’m really curious, how is the coverage (I don’t like full)
@@laurenceapitz1678 Jane Iredale Purepressed is a fantastic powder foundation! Have been using it for 4 years as my skin crawls when I use liquid foundation (no matter what brand).
Purepressed can be worn with a light layer, or you can build it up. I use a powder puff and it leaves my skin flawless! I don't use a brush or beautyblender. Powder puff pressed onto my skin gives my skin flawless look without any mask-like feel or look.
One layer it will be light cover, 2 layers medium, 3 layers will be heavier, but it won't be as bad as other powders as this is soooo light and smooth (not chalky). I use one layer, concealer on imperfections, and dust the imperfections with an extra thin layer so it stays concealed without getting to heavy. Very natural bus still covers up beautifulle with no mask feel😊 (ps. I am in my fifties)
Im 42 with impossibly oily tzone and lately I find myself alternating between Haus Labs which is lovely but i think the winner is Giorgio Armani Luminous. As makeup lovers some staples will always work and be great quality but some things we loved before just dont work. I went back to a few drugstore ones I used to love and it was a mess. For ppl asking for good foundation affordable pricing I have tried Neutrogena healthy skin recently and it performed very well, similar in my opinion to the Nars. Maybelline has their fit me line which is also affordable and not super heavy. Cheers
I'm 50 with redness, fine lines, dark circles, menopausal acne.. I could go on! Since watching your videos I've changed from medium/ full cover foundation, to a medium sheer , dewy one, I conceal properly, a lovely bright coral cream blush, bronzer and setting spray and it looks sooooo much better, - Thank you! ❤ You're lovely, by the way .
I did the same thing when I turned 50. At 61 I wear even less makeup, as I've really bumped up my skincare routine by adding Tretinoin. I don't wear a lot of eye makeup since I wear glasses, except for eyebrows too!
What foundation do you use?
Laura Geller's Balance n brighten is my favourite. I've used it for years.
I'm an ELF girl all the way for all my products.
My favorite is Dior, Charlotte Tilbury, George Armani Luminous and Mac. So far is the ones that works for my skin and don’t break me out at all
I'm 62 and have dry skin with visible pores. Three foundations I really love are the Dior Forever Skin Glow, the new Hourglass Skin Tint, and Revlon Illuminance foundation. 😊
I also have dry skin and use the Dior Forever Skin Glow.
I love the Dior Forever! Really lasts, looks beautiful., no transfer. I do use a good moisturizer beforehand, and let it soak in well.
I have not tried the NARS Sheer Glow, but the NARS Light Reflecting is my holy grail.
So many great choices. I love having treatment in foundations. They go on easier and wear comfortably and with a light powder touch up, they last very well.
I have been using It Cosmetics CC cream since release, before that I used their BB cream, Ive tried other brands, but always go back, its been 10+ years, I'm 68 with dry skin.
Took me a long time to find my HG foundation
I’m 57
Combo skin
Fine Lines
Mild redness
I absolutely love Estée Lauder’s Futurist Hydra Rescue Moisturizing Foundation SPF45 - loads of shades ❤
A real surprise for me since I'm not always a fan of drugstore, but Revlon Illuminance foundation is the absolute best! And incredibly affordable. Also loving Haus Labs foundation right now also.
Both of those are my current favorites, too.
My go-to foundation is the Haus Labs by Lady Gaga. Strange, since I'm almost 70! But the coverage is good, looks natural on me (use minimal amount) and it LASTS!! I use it over my DRMTLGY sunscreen & it's great!!!
Great video, Haus Labs hits it out of the park for me it and Double Wear are currently my holy grails…💜
Just got the Haus Labs, and it is amazing. The most skin-like. It doesn't last like my Dior Forever, tho... maybe I'll try mixing them!
Could you do this but im drugstore brands? Pretty please 😊
Happy to see the RCMA shoutout. I feel they’re underappreciated as a brand. I’m 54, and their cream foundation is the only thing that works on me anymore. Everything else makes my pores stand out, no matter what application technique I use.
I love the Laura Geller Balance and Brighten foundation too but we need to keep pushing to get more shades! I need something between Porcelain and Fair that has a neutral-to-warm undertone!
I love it too but definitely more shades needed! Light is perfect for my slightly tanned summer skin but stuck on which one I need for winter
Fair turns orange on me, porcelain is way pink and light is too dark. It’s beautiful on the skin though.
This ihas been my go to for years, love it and you can mix the shades with your brush.
Try Maybelline Skin tint golden 👍🏻
Been watching you so long I’m gonna need an over 50’s now!
Double wear is the OG Goat. I just tried Dior Forever glow it’s nice too.
My favorite is Dior. Lasts all day, doesn’t get into fine lines, and doesn’t make my skin look dry and flaky. Wish they would remove the scent though.
Wich dior? Forever matte or forever glow?❤
@@yunie88Forever Matte is astonishing! (70)
And, I wear Jane Iredale. It’s perfection.
Agree with your SOLID LIST! My favorite is actually YOUR CREAM FOUNDATION WAYNE! Shade 9! And 10 and 5!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I’m really running low. Pleeease restock 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I'm surprised you didn't mention Armani Luminous Silk. I'm 66 and wear it every day. It's fabulous.
It's on my bucket list - have heard so many great reviews on it!
I love the Armani silk foundation!
I use Maybelline Dream radiant liquid and MAC Studio fix.
Maybelline radiant is gorgeous and so is the price!
People have to remember this is simply his opinion. How these foundations work for us individually depend on many factors including our skin type, skin prep, time of the month (which he doesn’t experience 😂) and our preference in finish
Love love love love love NARS light reflecting for my 45 year old face too
Perfect timing, great video! I'm 62 and have not worn foundation for about 12 years and would like to start again. The NARS & Lancome sound amazing and will test them out! Thank you! Cheers, Happy Weekend, love & light to you and yours ✨💜✨
Lancôme Glow Found.wears like a dream, thin as a veil, wipes 10 years off by blurring effect. Amazing product….and I am very, very picky and fussy, mature skin her too. I hope you’ve tested by now😊
Koh Gen Do is another one I love that people don’t talk about much!
Their aqua foundation is my favorite of all time. Aging dry skin and pores here. It has just enough coverage for me and still looks like skin.
@@JoJo_belleyesss!!! It looks like skin and such a lovely foundation. Super underrated.
You can’t even believe that my favorite foundation is Catrice true skin foundation. I need a pretty full coverage and I am 68. It’s great and it’s 10 bucks. I’d love to see what you think. Thank you! God Bless!!!
Favorites: Wet & Wild Tinted Hydrator. Very nice coverage with hyaluronic acid. Second Bare Minerals as well. OG
I don't wear foundation, just tinted sunscreen, and my two favorites are MD Solar Sciences Gleam & Glow, and also the DRMTLGY Universal Tinted. They both have a dewy yet not shiny finish, and give my skin a beautiful glow! I do have dark circles (half Mediterranean) so I use IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye which gives excellent nourishing coverage, comes in so many shades, and the tube lasts a long time as just a tiny drop is needed per eye! I won't use anything else so far.
I’m with you, only wearing sunscreen. Thank you for your recommendations!
I love the Tropic tinted one for if I’ve a slight tan, no foundation needed - less is more for my somewhat finicky skin.
Thanks for reasonable prices💕.
As a mature women with dry combination skin and still prone to breakouts, I absolutely love Shiseido Synchro Skin RADIANT Foundation. Tried some samples and fell head over heels. I loved the Josie Maran Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation, but that seems to be discontinued now so I needed a replacement and the Shiseido one is good, but still not the Josie Maran Vibrancy good. Am loving the new Revlon Illuminance Foundation too. And to get a look similar to the Josie Maran Vibrancy, I might mix half a pump of the Shiseido foundation with half a pump of the Revlon Illuminance and mix together - the staying power is fine too, and I don't powder my skin as I look too cakey if I do.
My two favorite are Nars Reflecting and Estee Lauder Double Wear
So many incredible foundations.....
I have about six of these foundations lol. I also bought the Hourglass Veil tint at the weekend and I love it! It’s fabulous on my 49 year old skin.
These are great suggestions.❤ The one place I will splurge on is foundation. I find that I might be able to get by with cheaper lipstick, pencils..but bad foundation total ruins everything for me. It has been challenging to find a perfect match for my skin tone. In the past I have had to purchase two foundations and mix them. So I never really saved money on less expensive brands. My favorite right now is Dior glow foundation. I fall between two shades with most brands and Dior has half shades. Mine is 2.5. Slightly dewy finishes are more forgiving on me. Thanks for the video Wayne.
Laura Gellar IS awesome! Bare Minerals destroyed my skin, but a brand called Alima Pure was good to me for years. ❤ It doesn't have some of the ingredients in mineral makeups that are irritating.
I had a severe reaction to Bare Minerals as well. It is the Bismuth Oxychloride in it - I can't wear anything that has that ingredient in it.
Being a Johnny Ross fan, I can't help but chuckle when I see/hear "Nars". Definitely gonna check these out. Thanks!
Love when you share lists of your faves, Wayne!
NARS Light Reflecting is the best.
Thanks for listing such a variety of foundation formulas for us, Wayne! I love the Pat McGrath foundation & it happens to work with my dry skin. It’s perfection. ❤😊
Love Laura Geller baked foundation too. Such an easy to use classic. Thanks for the other recommendations ❤❤
Nude by Nature is incredible and a cheaper option. When my skin is having a fit, this is the one I reach for. Nars is also superb..
Love Laura Geller Baked Balance and Brighten. Never got on with liquids or the mess with mineral foundations.
How about Lisa Eldridge? Its so light weight and so natural
My holy grail, absolutely love it ❤
I’m 49 and love the Dior foundation, Estée Lauder Double Wear (sheared out), and the Beauty Blender Bounce skin tint. Applications for these three make a huge difference.
Laura Gellar Double Take has a beautiful soft matte finish. It’s my go to.
Hi Wayne, please could you make a video with foundation for very dry skin over 50? ❤
Wayne, I bought the Laura Geller based on your love of it… and I felt like I had just put the Sahara Desert on my face. Like it was sucking the moisture out of me. Hated it. I take great care of my skin and it is not dry. Goes to show, there is no one-size-fits-all solution for us over 40, we still just have to try things to know if they work for us! I am really loving the Hourglass Veil Skin Tint now tho. And for more coverage days I use Haus Labs or NARS Light Reflecting.
I used to find Laura Geller great when I was younger and working. Now I'm older I changed to another brand asI found it highlights pores and wrinkles.
Same for me. Seemed to suck my skin dry. Nude by Nature is much better.
@JR-qv4ro the formula changed for the worse because now it's full of talc
I wish that was longer! 🙂
Your videos are perfect! Short and to the point! Thank you!😊
I love Shiseido synchro skin
Laura Geller has amazing products. You don’t hear anyone talk about them as much as other brands.
You look so happy and glowing 😊 Can you do the same for less expensive foundations?
wayne please do an affordable round up 🙏
Yes, I use Jane Airedale powder foundation and love it. . I will try the cream formula. It does not irritate my skin , the Bare Minerals did.
Wayne, if you had to choose the one of all those foundations that showed texture the least, what would it be?
Please do a finishing powder video too
Wayyyyyyyne - “patiently”waiting to get my hands on your foundation. In the interim - anyone remember Vincent Longo Water Canvas? Ugggggh - I miss that so much. That was my holy grail for years. Nothing like it!
What abt Giorgio Armani luminous silk and dior skin glow?
I know right, I use them and they are the best for me
I love both of these!
I LOVE the Dior Forever Skin Glow. It looks amazing on my mature, dry skin. 😊
Wayne Goss...where is the Elf review? It was in the pic
Hi Wayne! I’m 41 and I have sensitive combo dehydration prone skin. I don’t wear foundation regularly, but when I do, Lisa Eldridge’s Seamless Skin is my go to! It’s a bit on the pricey side, but I love how it makes my skin look, is a great match for my light olive skin tone, and I can see a bottle lasting me a long time! ❤
Please do more affordable foundations, for under 20 dollars maybe...
I love my Laura Geller powder foundation. Doesn’t pool up in lines of your face.
I’m 52 with oily skin, my favourite is Armani beauty silk foundation, best shade match for me. I also tried a sample of the Lisa Eldridge foundation, next to buy for me. I tried the bare minerals one and it looked awful.
my no1, nars light reflecting... your skin, but younger and luminous..
Great video! The problem with Laura geller is getting the right color, I swear they reversed the fair v light, I look like I have a tan. Dior has been my favorite for two years, Nars SG is another long time favorite, but I just bought the new smashbox and it’s very good. I have the Haus lab it’s ok. Dry skin, 53.
Agree with Laura Geller. I can only wear the light when I'm tanned. It's nott a light colour at all. Now I have no idea what shade I need for winter
Love this video, I was a little surprised the Giorgio, IArmani luminous silk, was not included lol. How about a skin tint version for lighter coverage people?
Bare Minerals...still one of the best and affordable.
I'm 46 and I wear the Smashbox Halo Healthy Glow tinted moisturizer with SPF 25 and hyaluronic acid and it's so much more it has like medium coverage.
I have missed you I luv this video I need to buy a new foundation somI will pick up one of these and see how it goes!
When is your cream foundation going to re stock Wayne? I've been waiting a long time to try it as it sold out so quickly first time round & I missed out.
I’m 47 and my best foundation are Armani luminous silk obviusly😅, pat mc grath, lancome absolue tinted serum is divine on my skin, serge lutens spectral cream foundation is the only mat finish that I love and helena rubinstein cc cream is my go to 💖
I bought the HD one on your recommendation. I really like it.
I found the nars light reflection to be glossy.
Nars is awesome in all foundations
I’ve been trying to buy YOUR foundation, Wayne, but it’s been out of stock for months!
Surprised that Armani wasn’t on the list 😮
Love the EL Double Wear!! My favorite foundation!
I’ve never heard of Patrick Ta ! The cream foundation and powder seems ideal for me ! Thanks Wayne ❤
Wayne do you know when your foundation will be available in lighter shades again?
I’m a Charlotte Tilbury, Estée Lauder and surprisingly….Dior but only on certain parts of my face.
WHAAAAT No Lisa Eldridge ????? Her foundation is absolutely AMAZING!!! Her shade matches are 2nd to none and the formula is so beautiful, you can have 'skin-like' and build to 'full coverage' .. it is my No. 1 ride-or-die foundation .. 2nd is Armani and joint 3rd is IT cosmetics 'Your skin but better' and Haus Labs ... interested to see what everyone else thinks .. BTW I am 53 with wrinkles, dark under-eyes and dry to normal skin!!!
I’m 55 and have just decided that the Nars soft matte foundation is the best!!! What do you think of this one WG ???
