WOWOW! Why am I just now hearing about Vanessa Collier, omg she is a blues monster. She needs a new publicist or social media person. Vanessa can flat out jam
I must be living under a dang rock. Until this video popped up in my suggested list just now, I'd never heard of Vanessa and her band. This is s seriously kick AZZ band, holy shyte. Vanessa can really blow (both vocals and the sax) I'm absolutely shocked I've never seen or heard of this band before. I'm going to search them out and listen a lot in the coming days. Thanks Bluesbroad, I sub'd. Have a great weekend.
About a month ago I saw my first Vanessa Collier video. Caught her live for the first time the other night. This woman is a quadruple threat - singer, songwriter, gifted musician and great live performer. Not to be missed!
Playing memphis tonight. Gotta love smart tech. Now we can see if its something we like instead of just winging money out like its free chasing good music.
Dave Sanborn, Red Holloway, David Fathead Newman, Jeff Watkins, Herb Hardesty, Amadee Castenell, Brian Breeze Cayolle, Lee Allen, King Curtis, Maceo Parker, Lou Donaldson, Eddie Harris, Gene Ammons, Donald Harrison, Noble Thin Man Watts, and Hank Crawford. Great Instrumentalists? Ahhh Yeah. What makes someone a great instrumentalist and what makes a solo good?
This is most definitely not the Blues! Y'all need to stay with that heavy metal and bluegrass and leave the Blues to the people who invented it Black people!
Today was the first time I have ever heard of Vanessa Collier. And today I also became a fan of Vanessa Collier. This woman can jam!
Me too!!!

Girl can jam on that sax. Just saw her on the #34 Blues Cruise.
More rock than blues, but still very good.
