WOW... Very good craftsmanship. Nice to see someone forging without using powertools, good job. Good layout on the different steps. I love it. A true work of art..
I ordered a rounding hammer from you yesterday and thought i would check out some of your videos and i am glad i did. You do awesome work! Cant wait to get my hammer! Thanks!
I ordered a bowl adze from from your Etsy shop. I can't wait to get it. You seem quite skilled, so I'm sure it'll be a great tool. Excellent video too, wish you would make more.
Can you tell me the dimensions of the starting pieces. When i have enough experience I'd like to make one and I'm planning on using an old bush hog blade for the blade end
hiya really liked the video im considering starting this as a hobby where did u learn how to and can u recommend any good books or sites etc that are starter friendly mainly im wanting to look at making axes and knives saves buying them any advice would be much appreciated by anyone cheers
what is your step down measurements? and fantastic job I've been looking for someone to do a bearded axe that doesn't use a power hammer and it doesn't get much better than that great job
do you still have your power hammer ? Don't mark over the egde of the anvil cold steel. One day you will blunt them or do a hugde chip. Btw.Nice axe. One more thing.....i can see anvil in the back what brand it is ? How much it weight and why you are not forging on it ?
yes, I do still have the powerhammer, I will do more videos with it in the future. Don't worry about the edges, they are welded on with hard facing rods, they do wear with time but it is a really convenient way to mark material and I can always repair them. the anvil in the back is one I made myself and I only use it for finer stuff and more accurate work since it has the flatter face. thank you for commenting
dirk d probably I will make more, but I don't know when, follow my fb page and my etsy store to stay up to date with what is available. Thanks for watching
Corey Curtis I used 10x25mm mild steel for the eye and back of the blade and a smaller wedge shaped carbon steel part for the blade, as you can see in the video.
Montygo the face of the anvil was heavily damaged and was ground away to make it flat again. It has a step in it as if I wanted to make the entire thing flat I would need to grind off a significant part of the horn.
Amazing job as a historic blacksmith tradesmen of over ten years I love this video! Lovely work well done! Great job laying out the steps!
Hands down the coolest video of axe making and what a gorgeus axe too! I could watch this over and over again

Кузнец просто молодец. Хорошая работа.
I definitely wanna try forging my own axes. Any pointers how to get started? Never forged in my life.
Best if you start with blacksmithing basics and move to axes later on.

Nice. My wife jusf ordered a hammer from you for me. Cant wait :-)
Is it necessary to harden the blade in oil? Or can that just be done in water too?
Ward Van Damme It can be done both ways, it just depends on the steel
Can you tell me the dimensions of the starting pieces. When i have enough experience I'd like to make one and I'm planning on using an old bush hog blade for the blade end
The head part is 25x10 bar
Very nice, when are you going to do some more video's Bine.?????
Very good Job! 👍🏻👍🏻
I'm really curious why the offsets for the eye were on opposite sides?
hiya really liked the video im considering starting this as a hobby where did u learn how to and can u recommend any good books or sites etc that are starter friendly mainly im wanting to look at making axes and knives saves buying them any advice would be much appreciated by anyone

Did the tool steel face come off your anvil?
