From what I can see after all the articles I’ve read and videos I’ve watched, what Heyman really needed was someone to handle the business side of things so that he could focus on the creative aspects. If he had hired a professional to manage the accounts, ECW probably would’ve lasted a lot longer.
@@shadow_ax I understand some of the checks he drew as payment to his wrestlers actually bounced. If true, how the heck did he escape prosecution for issuing such worthless checks??
You and me both dude...I’m just happy other originals like Jerry Lynn, New Jack, Ian Rotten, John Kronus, Steve Corino etc didn’t take Vince’s paycheck to job to his fairy queens in WWECW
That’s absolutely crazy how that company still has such an elite cult following since it went bust over 20 years ago It’s been out of business longer than it was IN business. Crazy stuff Too young to watch ECW original but I’ve got some great memories of ECW WWE Went to shit when it went PG
@@charleswalker8262 it failed because those “die hard” fans weren’t providing enough money to keep the business afloat. Are you telling me that had they performed the same kind of show they put on at Last Stand 2006 year round in the mainstream that ECW couldn’t have lived on its original spirit? Just because they failed at bringing it to the mainstream doesn’t mean it didn’t belong there there is no reason why something as great as ECW couldn’t have been the Norm
I am only 23 but I am lucky enough to have been born and raised and still live in my opinion the greatest sports and pro wrestling city ever Philadelphia, was lucky enough to go to a few shows with my dad back in 99 and 2000 at an age which I probably shouldn't of been watching ECW but none the less I am happy I got to go to live shows at the ECW Arena
I loved Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka, but my most favorite ECW Wrestlers are the ECW Originals, which is Sandman, RVD, Sabu, and Tommy Dreamer, because they were the ones that made ECW its success back in the day. ECW in 201 should've ended with Sabu and RVD as the last ECW Tag Team Champions, Sandman as the ECW Television Champion, and Tommy Dreamer as the ECW Champion.
+Codyman I do agree with ya Mike Awesome despite pulling a dick move and being unprofessional by jumping ship to WCW which they made him look like an idiot later anyway (WCW did) while he was ECW World Heavyweight Champion I liked Mike Awesome and I love Masato Tanaka he's probably my favorite Japanese wrestler of all-time, I also love Sabu, RVD, Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman but they weren't the only ECW Originals anyone and everyone that was ever in that ring in the original ECW be it ref, trainer, doctor, wrestler, manager, valet, booker, TV Persona, producer, etc, etc, etc, etc, was an ECW Original they are the original ECW guys and gals
+Codyman and their are a lot more people to contribute to ECWs popularity and success such as Terry Funk, "The Franchise" Shane Douglas, Raven, The Public Enemy, The Dudleys (all 9 of them), Rey Mysterio Jr., Psychosis, Super Crazy, Mick Foley, Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero, The Pitbulls, Taz, Chris Jericho, the name we do not speak of even Chris Benoit, The FBI, Mikey Whipwreck, 2 Cold Scorpio, Chris Candido, Bam Bam Bigelow, as you said Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka and so so many more
I started watching ECW on the TV and was blown away. Got to watch it live at the old Elk's Lodge on Queens Boulevard. One late Saturday night early Sunday morning, some friends were hanging out at my home and I introduced them to ECW & they were also blown away. I still have the ECW video game for Playstation. Classic memories!
Remembering my Grandparents days &nights sitting around the table having dinner then setting the table on fire play acting each other fighting the Dudley brothers .Ecw Remembers
Always remember hearing this for the first time when WWE were doing the invasion and all the ECW wrestlers coming through the crowd. After that, I had to know more about ECW and my mind was blown.
Austin Dickerson that’s what I’m currently watching atm and it’s pretty awesome 😎 wish I watched it back then but thanks to the network I’m able to watch it all back

Been a wwf/wwe fan 38 years now but in the 90's and even now no company theam can beat this no entrance can beat this this represents greatness rebel against control fight against wrestling politics get me pumped This is going on my gym play list
Cena vs RVD one of the coolest matches ever! Cena was a Heel he said it was most hostile crowd he's ever worked with. RVD thought it was hilarious how the fans were treating Cena
I hope to God that 2K brings back the ability to upload your own songs in 2k21 so I could use this for a Revived ECW show in my Universe as a separate brand, but done right.
Funny thing is I’ve also been looking up old ads for ECW pay per views. Really wish I had watched the original ECW when it was on the air. I foolishly was all about WWF at the time.
We’re talking 90s. It feels like a lifetime ago and in some ways it was. The world was a different place entirely. We got what we were given in news, products, sports, movies, food and entertainment as a whole. It was pre internet days (for the most part) and we appreciated what was available and had to make an effort to be on time to view the things we had exposure to. On the wrestling front it was always WCW and WWF and you had to pick one. Unless you were local… you weren’t really going to see much of the indies and it was work to find out information on them.… then along comes ECW. It gave us something a hell of a lot more edgy content and crazy stunts. Most things felt like a shoot but you knew they were still scripted (or did you?). I don’t care what anyone says… ECW was the indirect reason for the attitude era. They bloody started it. They made noise and were heard by the big two (at the time). We were hooked. While we clicked from nitro to raw and couldn’t make up our minds from one week to another (and just tried to enjoy both shows), we always loved what ECW gave us. It was an access to something far more raw and crazy. When their stars started moving to the bigger two promotions, we knew they were the business. ECW was a promotion you you’ll have appreciated a lot more during its time. It will always be difficult for a young person to really understand it today (but that isn’t a knock on young people). The reason is that we are exposed to so much now and the world has come a long long way since the 90s. Everyone is smart now and everyone has an opinion. Our expectations are very high on all fronts.
Recuerdo cuando el público coreaba THIS IS AWESOME o el contagioso coreo de HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY
Paul Heyman was really a genius for ECW everything was perfect, the wrestlers, the theme songs, the matches just perfect.
looks like AEW's Tony Khan is taking a little of ECW & WCW,
and molding it to his own , maybe some WWF, but who knows.
