also in the first episo powder saying one day im gonno wride one of these to the airship and in the finel scene we see a airship leaving i just wannet to say it
I love your character analysis so much. If you also do live action you should really consider watching the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica from 2004. I think you would have an absolute blast trying to analyse the characters in that show
I just realized Jinx is a healthier role model to Isha than Silco is to Jinx. With Silco, he molded her to cope with isolation or “do your gadgetry” if he can’t help her with her emotions. With Jinx, she’s there for Isha. She helps her make her childhood even in a dangerous world and shields her from danger. She’s there for Isha. Unlike Silco is to Jinx. Even if Silco has yhe best intentions for Jinx, the way Jinx grows up and raising her to be his weapon starting at a young age, it’s clear he’s not the best parent. Even if his love is there.
That part of negative self talk not starting as your own voice is so true. I didn’t really believe the vitriol of my abusers until it kept happening for a few years. Don’t abuse your kids people. It messes them up in ways even they don’t understand.
18:30 I really like the idea that Jinx blows herself up with Ekko nearby early on because she thinks he's an hallucination, then switches to jumping off once she realizes he isn't, THEN stops to consider his words when they happen to be exactly what she needs to hear. Anyone familiar with time loops is also aware that there's probably been loops where he simply told her to "JUST DO IT YOU NOOB!", as far as we know it could've taken a hundred + loops to make it work and we only saw the main progression path.
6:17 same with Sevika you can see a yellow figure next to Isha yelling at the others you can also see her arm fending off Vi’s gauntlets showing that Jinx deep down actually has a soft spot for her
Claggor never called her a jinx. Vi only lashed out once in anger (and spent years regretting that moment) due to trauma Silco inflicted upon her, but that moment was the breaking point for Powder/Jinx: feeling even her sister viewed her as someone who ruins what she touches (and after accidentally killing Mylo and Claggor, she fears Vi has a point). Still, give my boy Claggor some respect.
Claggor is more like someone who had to deal w her Jinxes and it also bothered him. He just reacted it in a different way, he didnt do any effort to enforce positive thinking into Jinx either
The whole "knowing is not the same as believing" thing is so true. One of the things I always bring up to my therapist is how every time we talk about what the healthier thing to do or mindset to have is, I always already _know_ these things. I know already, I know what I should be feeling, I know what the actual "objective" truth is, I know everything she's about to suggest before she suggests it. But that's not enough to believe it or apply, and it's endlessly frustrating having to go through the motions every time to apply the knowledge of things I've been aware of for a long time.
LOVE the eyes Georgia! First thing I noticed! And the rest of the cosplay is spot on! ALSO LOVE THE ISHA hat in the back!!! I hear what you are saying: The motivation for suicide was not fully present. That, combined with your observation that there was much more Vi and Echo could have said and was missing, tells me that the writers may just have been getting tired and a bit lazy. It happens.
Hell no, it was most likely cut by budget or time constraints. I heard that in the art book Ekko talked more about alternate Jinx/Powder or about her good version. Also more scenes of them bonding and working with the Firelights putting on war paint and constructing her balloon. Maybe they saved those scenes for the spin-off or want to explore this further.
@@classicslover I get what you mean but in my opinion it still worked because the subtext was there. We wanted a bit more meaningful words or a cathartic message, that's all.
@@daanopdebeeck2312 I have to agree with Georgia on this. No one is perfect. When most things are more fully explored, but a choice of suicide is abruptly glossed over, it feels wrong because it is. A comparison would be Jack can't fit on the door in Titanic, because the director said so. It's lazy. Saving things for the 'spin off" sounds like "Oh. Yes. We MEANT to do that. Totally."
I personally can't stop thinking about how epic her team up with Sevika was as a character moment. Jinx reconciling with someone she previous despised in perhaps the most Jinx way possible: gifting them a hand-crafted artistic expression that also fits their needs. The gift was very well thought out and personal, a robot arm slot machine weapon that has just as much chance of backfiring as it does at violating the Geneva Convention! :D Also epic work with the costume!
4:54 I love you responding to yourself with that laugh “NO NOT EVEN JINX” bc silco telling jinx ‘youre perfect’ played in my head when u said that lmaoo
By the way in the last episode of arcane; there was supposed to be a scene after ekko talks her out of blowing herself and him up he shows her and reminds her of her worth but it got cut becaus netflix told them to not include it which is dumb imo
Jeez i JUST noticed in season 1 when you see jinx s room its very cold looking. Now when ishas with her, her room looks warm and hopeful. God thats amazing. And as jinx said in season 1 "nothing ever stays DEAD".
I think I thought about this season all wrong. I thought since season one was about Jinx’s trauma that season two would be about Vi’s trauma - thematically completing the yin and yang symbolism. But what if we had framed the story wrong? What if season one was about Jinx’s trauma and season two was about Vi’s faith? Not about Vi being able to heal all her trauma yet, but about her realizing her faith in people can get through to them. And they might pull through for her. I still think this idea could’ve been clearer in the writing, but if that’s what they meant, then that changes my whole perspective of their direction with Vi’s arc.
Jinx may have reached the "I need Vi to let me go" conclusion by witnessing how Vi couldn't let Vander go. Beast Vander was going to hurt Vi, maybe kill her, and Vi couldn't fight back or leave him behind. Jinx may not feel in that moment she's a detriment or a 'Jinx' to Vi, but if she ever got to a place where Vander was, where she was genuinely not good for Vi, Jinx doesn't feel confident that Vi would leave her. "You're never going to let me go, huh?" from the cell is almost confirmed for her again. Maybe she wants Vi to have that space and has justified that to herself as a reason to stay hidden.
With regards to Ekko talking Jinx down in EP9 I believe the producers admitted the storyboard draft was a heck of a lot longer (almost an episode in itself)… and would have included Ekko catching Jinx up on the AU And his encounter with Powder there,.,
Ofc they wrote a lot of story board things. For instance in S1 they decided not to show the story between Ekko and Jinx happened in the time between E3 and E4.
I also wonder how much of Jinx' mental state was caused by her "resurrection". I mean, you see how Shimmer Suits impact the people in them just temporarily, can you imagine how nearly dying, then being resurrected through whatever twisted alchemy Singed used along with Shimmer now permanently running through your veins/soaked into your brain could impact your mental state, not only from a medical perspective of brain damage from a near-death state/severe concussive force and whatever clearly-painful process Singed used to repair it, but also from pressures of being seen as a kind of messianic figure when such a role felt forced upon you. On top of everything that happened to her, Jinx wasn't even working from a stable mental state/healthy brain to begin with.
There's a couple details that might hint at Jinx's state of mind and why Ekko's words reached her. He appealed specifically to her building something new. Building and repairing is something that Jinx has alot of confidence in and has used as a selfsoothing method in the past and it's also something that she knows Ekko highly values as well. I also noticed that the bunny features prominently in the balloon entrance scene (both the actual presence of the doll and on the baloon itself). The bunny on the wire being talked about as a failure of Vi's past and so the imagery here showing the acknowledgement of past failures as something that is part of the new thing being built
Fun thing is Jinx isn’t dead. She got out. It’s why Caitlyn looks at the air vents and smiles in the last ep. Jinx escapes. Great costuming. Very good video.
20:12 This scene feels incomplete because it is. It was supposed to be much longer, but it wasn't because they were afraid the episode would end up being too long or something like that.
Isha is such a rollercoaster of emotions for me. Because on the one hand she was so grown up in being ready to die for someone she loved, and for the things she believed in, I was so proud of her for being so courageous and driven. But on the other hand SHE'S A CHILD. She's precisely NOT who should be doing the sacrifice, she's the one who we sacrifice _for._ And so even her moment of courage and glory is a tragedy because it never should have happened or been necessary.
Yes, 60 minutes of Jinx and Ekko were cut from the last episode, and I am certain, Ekko would've told Jinx about Powder in the alternate universe, and that there is a good version of herself out there.
11:30 What i love about this moment is it feels like Jinx in that moment understood so much more about both vander and silco. Almost like a "this is what its all for."
16:21 This comment hits so hard. (In general your videos hit really hard on a lot of topics, lol.) But this is exactly how my depression works. It's not like I'm sad and crying all the time. Often, sure. But mostly it's just a lack of will. I just, don't care about anything. And even when I tell myself I should go do something, load up a game or anything, I just end up sitting around and doing nothing. Half the time I'll just rewatch series or RUclips videos even though I'm seen it multiple times. I just feel exhausted, all the time.
4:16-5:13 I couldn't have said it better myself. It's like people forget that character growth is a process. I love it when complex characters go through that process, especially when they're morally questionable. No side Jinx is or has to be a fucking saint.
The shark hood looks amazing and that wig must have been really awkward to film with but you made it look natural - good work on both! I appreciate that you went into the scene with Jinx/Powder being hit with acceptance from others because that one resonated with me the hardest. I struggle with self-worth a lot, to the point where when I used to work retail I discovered that anytime I made a geniune connection with a customer it would actually make me tear up. I thought it was the weirdest "quirk" I had, until I learned later that it was a sign of just how low my self-esteem really was. And seeing the way her expressions shift, the vulnerability in her eyes as people just accept her and she struggles with even that much, was something I empathized with deeply. So I'm honestly very happy you went into that - how its not enough to reverse all the damage done a person's self-image but it's definitely a begining. It's always something they remember.
Been watching your content for some time now and The cosplay is by far some one of the best I've seen the contacts really brings it all together and the Isha helmet in the background 😭and its so impressive you put so much effort into both the costumes and the Analysis. amazing video as always Georgia :D
Honestly. The bits about fighting off negative self talk is what I've been working on with my therapist recently. And a lot of your analysis I usually watch just for entertainment and education. But the way you've put things in this video in particular really spoke to me and I think will improve my day to day... at least hopefully
One element that I feel the need to add to the end of your video is that there is more to Jinx's motivation beside wanting Vi to be safe: Jinx is aware that Vi is stuck in a cycle of guilt for turning Powder into Jinx, to the point that Vi is incapable of focusing on her happiness with Caitlyn. The scene that illustrates this the best in my opinion is when Vi comes to unlock Jinx's cell - she is talking to Jinx, but Vi's words come across like she is desperately trying to convince herself, that this will work. Jinx responds with an emotionless "Sure, Vi." because she sees right through Vi's words that are just her guilt talking, ending in a hug that shows what a relief this would be to Vi, to not have to carry that guilt anymore. By learning to be a big sister for Isha, in the end Jinx is ready to be a big sister for Vi, even if it means taking away her choice to let go of her hand during the ending, and the result of faking her death is Vi who is capable of happiness with Caitlyn, which is also what Jinx wanted for her.
I like Dr. Dow's explanation on the "Is Jinx alive" discussion. I watched others like Schnee on the subject and while he also has a lot of valid points and none of his answers were wrong at all, it all seemed to... miss something. Dr. Dow's explanation explain everything in a way that ties up so many (possibly) loose ends!
Your analysis is really insightful and made me realize how much I relate to Jinx. It's not all the time as I'm usually a pretty happy person but whenever bad things happen to me in life I tend to devolve into a mindset of self-loathing for a short time. I feel for Jinx because it can be so difficult to convince yourself that those things aren't true. This show is amazing
Your videos are always so good and give me great insights into my own thought patterns. Also thank you for saying the actual words, hearing people refer to suicide as 'unaliving yourself' is incredibly uncomfortable for me, i've struggled with suicidal ideation for most of my life at this point and people refusing to actually say kill is, vaguely infantilizing? I'm not sure if that's the right word but it feels like it's lessening the impact of something that does and should feel like a gut punch. I've thought about killing myself since i was a child, and there's something very powerful, uplifting and relieving to me when i actually get to say those words out loud. Not being able to freely express this stuff makes a huge impact on the outcome of the actions based around these thoughts, and normalizing speaking honestly like youre doing makes such a huge difference 💖
I watched Arkane with my 12y daughter. Powder/Jinx hit very different for the two of us. But we did notice how they used her hair, how it covered her face, how it filed space, as another way to tell her mood.
Christian linke (one of the creators) said that Ekko did say that there is a good version of her. That he basically said he meet au powder without exactly saying that and that jinx could feel that…feel that what he said was true and that it was really powerful for her…wish they extended the scene to include that
4:15 what I notice is that the veins around her eyes are almost non-existent. You think they’re just part of her since the shimmer because they’re there in every shot. But they’re faded almost completely away when she ‘retires’. When she’s no longer miserable and stressed.
Also 4:15 - she’s asking Silco to say something, to tell her what to do. She feels guilty for not playing the part of the revolutionist that she knows mattered so much to her father figure. But, she doesn’t want to be that. But she will if the Silco in her head tells her to. Silco doesn’t reflect the part she hates about herself or the internalised blame. She’s asking him to speak and he’s silent. He isn’t always silent - but he is here in this moment. I wonder why that is. So many possible reasons.
This costume is the best one I’ve seen on the channel. The eyes are the icing on the cake, and the helmet in the back is a great touch. Also, thanks you not using euphemisms.
I know there wasn’t much to Vi’s character when compared to season 1. But I’d personally really like a Vi video, because imo theres a lot of wrong views or misunderstandings with Vi’s character in season 2. As always, love the arcane vids, and its helped me be a better person to myself :)
Vi's opposite arc was quite interesting as she wasn't the protector this time, but rather the 'Jinx' this season feeling like a failure and having an identity crisis. For example, her coming back after or 'saving' Jinx (or her memory of Powder) in S02E03 in contrast to leaving Powder behind in S01E03 (unintentionally), Cait leading Vi into Zaun and being in control in season 2 vs. Vi doing this in season 1. Her good heart and intentions paved the road to hell each time. She couldn't let go off the past and punching your way through things cannot solve all things or can get you only so far (until you hit rock bottom which we saw with emo vi). First time we see Vi in S01E04 is in a prison and in S02E07 Jinx puts her in prison because Vi is mentally still in a prison driven by a deep guilt and savior complex. At the end of S02E03 we see Vi as the camera zooms out in a circular 'prison' and in the next episode she's in a fighting pit. Pretty sure there's a lot of symbolism going on for a cyclical pattern of pulling (Vi) and repelling (Jinx) which obviously needs to be broken. Vi needed protection from herself and Jinx was able to protect her sister this time. Love is also acknowledging to let go or go your separate ways. Both characters are forever intertwined, but better off without each other just like in the alternate universe. In the end, Vi was able to pull it together and keep her good heart even with all the pain she had to endure. Some are disappointed V didn't 'change' or taking an active decision, but I think there's a beautiful quality to Jinx doing that for her. Vi spent her whole life sacrificing and hurting herself now it was time for Jinx to return the favor after Jinx had learned to be the big sister with Isha. Jinx let go of Vi, or rather forced Vi to let go of her and this will hopefully bring closure to her being able to move forward again, and build something new with Cait.
The pink streak is more likely the to come from the bomb exploding. If you watch the scene with Ekko at the beginning of the episode you can see that the eye of the monkey also creates a purple streak and more importantly that it is a straight line. When Jinx leaves a purple streak it creates a squiggly path that matches her movement. The other thing is that this scene is an extension of the dynamic from the scene with Ekko. She explodes the monkey, he rewinds time and tries something new to convince her to not do it. Fundamentally the reasons for Jinx'es suicidality (speaking narratively of course) haven't significantly changed by this point. The whole process of her arc in the last few episodes is as an arguement of whether she should die or not and it's always tenuous in both directions. This is still true at this point so she very well could be alive, however the minutiae of the scene doesn't really support the arguement that she lives. They deliberately injected a little ambiguity by showing the same dirigible from the first episode where she said "One day I'm going to fly one of those things." except she literally flies enters the last battle on a very Jinx flying machine. It's all ambiguous, deliberately. The only thing that I think that potentially supports the narrative arguement that she chose to live is that Vander is technically alive but she also tries to argue for Vi to not risk her life trying to save him. Ambiguity ambiguity ambiguity...
observation about Jinx's connection to Silco in "Arcane" is significant and highlights the depth of their relationship. Here’s a breakdown of the elements I picked up ❤❤❤ - Hairstyle: Jinx's long front bang mirrors the style of Young Silco as seen in Vander's flashback, symbolizing how Silco's influence has shaped her identity. This visual cue ties her appearance to her past and the father figure she adopted after losing Vander. - Bracelet: Both in the main reality and the alternate reality, Jinx wears Silco's bracelet as a necklace, which is a tangible reminder of her bond with him. This item serves as a constant link to Silco, showing how she carries parts of him with her even after his death. - Glove: The glove from Silco's mining days that Jinx keeps is another physical manifestation of her connection to him. When Warwick starts regaining Vander's memories with the song "Remember Me" playing, it underscores the theme of memory and legacy, with Jinx preserving Silco's legacy in her own way. - Fashion Influence: In the alternate reality, Powder's black and red fashion, along with Silco's bracelet, further illustrates how Silco's influence might have permeated her life even if circumstances had been different. However, she still keeps Vi's necklace, showing a blend of influences from both her sister and her surrogate father. - Father Figure: When Jinx is in jail and needs advice, she hallucinates Silco, not Vander, advising her. This choice in her hallucination reflects her deeper emotional connection and reliance on Silco's guidance, suggesting that he became the father figure she needed during her transformation into Jinx. - Survival and Moving On: The foreshadowing of Jinx potentially leaving Zaun and Piltover, coupled with her survival, indicates a complex journey of identity and legacy. By surviving and altering her fate, Jinx allows both herself and Vi to move forward, albeit in different directions, with Silco's influence still present in her life. Your analysis points to a nuanced portrayal of Jinx's character, where despite the chaos and destruction, there's a profound love and respect for Silco, which shapes her actions, appearance, and decisions. This relationship adds layers to Jinx's character, making her one of the most compelling figures in "Arcane." If you'd like, I can generate an image that captures this connection or another aspect of "Arcane" you're interested in exploring visually.
Thanks for you video! Always informative and fun to watch! Lately I fall into Epic:the musical, if you don't know I recommand it! And also hope to see if you have something to say about Odesseus journey and those around.
The cosplay is just incredible!!! I am amazed at the precision and meticulousness with which you approach the creation of the image of the analyzed character and the psychological depth with which you approach the very analysis of the Arkane character!!!!! Georgia, you are just an amazing psychologist, a true professional! P.S. with gratitude for your work from Russia, I am writing this comment on a blocked RUclips (ha).))
P.S. special thanks that, noticing the imperfections of the show (he doesn't really have as many of them as many haters write, but they are there: it would be possible to give a little more disclosure to the arch of Ambessa, sometimes too hasty pace of narration, incomplete disclosure of the arch of the "Black Rose" (I understand that it was postponed to the Noxus spinoff, but still, this arc plays a significant role in the plot of this season) and, perhaps, their most key mistake was cutting out more than 20 minutes of dialogue between Ekko and Jinx. I have to agree with you here. And it was quite important, as Ekko was telling Jinx about the best version of her from a parallel universe (this unfinished dialogue has been like an unfinished gestalt for me personally in recent months, ahaha.) I want TO SEE this dialogue....However, I understand that Fortish has a limited budget, and, in general, we got it...a hint of why Jinx went to the last battle. Ekko's words: "You know I learned someone...very special....that no matter what happened in the past. It's never too late to build something new. Someone worth building it for.".
It was clearly about both herself and Vi, for whom she wanted to build a new, better life....and then Jinx looked at the familiar monkeys in the z-drive. And after learning that she has a chance to change something in her life........That she wasn't a hopeless monster...realizing what she did for the Zaunites (gave them hope), realizing that Isha did not die because of her, but for her, so that she would become a symbol of a new, better future for Zaun... and a better version of herself, so that she could change her life for the better.........having accepted her past, she decided to build her future while being in the present. Not like the "weak clumsy" Powder, not like the "ruthless and killing everyone she cares about" Jinx......and how, yes, she makes mistakes in her life...but at the same time, she is still a truly loving friend, daughter..... and, of course, a sister...ready now to appear weak and vulnerable for the sake of protecting her loved ones (when she flew into battle on her "home", one might say, without any protection), like Powder, and, at the same time, ready to be ruthless to all who threaten her loved ones (her rage, now directed at a common enemy and Piltover, and Zaun - to the Noxians and Victor's robots) and at the same time thinking out a plan with a spectacular appearance at the beginning, like Jinx. She was able to reconcile the two sides of herself, accept them both.....to protect those she cares about... and, at a certain point, to let them go.....to move on to a new life, no longer being Powder or Jinx, but being both at the same time....to become someone..another....the "best version" of yourself. But we will see her further path only in a spinoff dedicated to her and, possibly, dedicated to Ekko. And there will be such a spinoff 100%, you can be sure.)), do not throw mud at it, as it is now popular in the fandom, emphasizing the depth present in it, the elaboration of the characters, psychologysm, their arcs of disclosure and development. "Arcane" needs to be criticized for its flaws....but to a much greater extent it needs to be praised for its virtues!!! Because such works of art as BOTH seasons of "Arcane" are released one of few decades..)
one thing I'll mention is that in the final cut for the last episode, Ekko mentioned the other Jinx to her, and they painted each other's armor for the final battle, so I think Ekko was the right person to talk to Jinx.
I honestly have no clue what would've happened if Vi brought up Isha when Jinx said "There's no good version of me." Poor girl might've spiralled even further. Thank god for Ekko's Z-drive. This is an amazing video, and the cosplay is honestly top-notch. It may be selfish of me to ask, but I would love to see you discuss how Vi's sense of responsibility holds her down, and how Caitlyn lets go of her rage and resentment towards Jinx and herself.
Nice cosplay! The contacts look like they would be mighty uncomfortable. Good message as always. Feel that this question presented has many moving parts. Jumbled thoughts atm but look forward to trying to work them out in a write and destroy journal entry over the weekend.
It is, fundamentally, confirmed that Jinx is still alive, and that the airship we see flying away at the end there is her leaving the cities. But, yeah... her whole arc is one that I feel very powerfully. Having my own mental struggles and doing everything I can to help others in my life with theirs... it hits for me. And, yeah. I feel for Vi, too. In any event, thank you for talking about this. Also, I'm... kind of there with you on being fed up with this whole "unaliving" phrasing. It means the same bloody thing, and people are just afraid to talk directly about death... and we're all kind of paying the price for it right now.
13:03 I assume you did it to avoid a copyright ban, but distorting Isha's song like that is sacrilege. But even that messed up version of it made me cry!
Did you notice that when the voices come back, there is a small Isha among them, but she is portraying supportive behavior. Like she is trying to protect Jinx and get her to look away from the other voices and look at her.
I believe that the worst part about Isha’s sacrifice is that Jinx saw it not as an act of true love, but as a “yet another” proof that everyone who comes close to her would die or suffer.
Oh. I usually listen to your videos. Nice touch with the contact lenses. Thank you for not saying unalive! It softens the severity of suicide and death. It’s killing themselves. There’s a reason why words matter.
Isha was actually trying to calm Jinx down here at 6:18 She is down at the bottom in the color orange. You can see it is Isha because of her hat, and the fact she was holding Jinx’s gun. However Jinx’s traumas are much bigger than Isha’s little positive influence. ( ; ; )
Dear Ms. Dow Watching your videos help me to have a heart to heart talk with my family and friends. I now have the strength to say "I'm a Arcane/league of legends lore Pookie(from New Jack City)". I found out there was some Starwars, DC and Marvels Pookies in my close group. They fully understand where I'm coming from. One of mind dear cousins, a Arcane Pookie, help me get my regular fix from these two youtube channels M50_W0RLD and JuuNil. Your channel gave me drive to look deep within my self and refine the Pookie with no shame. Thank you, take care and remember puff puff pass
They had an hour of footage of Jinx and Ekko recorded but they didn’t have the time to put it into the episode, and in that scene Ekko does tell Jinx everything about the alternate timeline. Jinx doesn’t kill herself because she learns that there is a ‘good version’ of herself.
I relate to her. Real life is f**ked for most of us. I've been planning out my death for quite some time. To leave as much as I can for the few that cared for me behind. But I don't see a point to continuing life in struggle and loneliness. The system was designed by evil, greedy narcissists and continue to walk under their mocking smiles is too much for me. 🤗
Get back at them by finding ways to be happy anyway. If you destroy yourself, the bad guys win. That's what they want. Don't give it to them. You said you relate to Jinx. She does a lot of good and makes life better. That's how you win. Besides, I don't think Jinx is dead.
So, the scene with Ekko saving Jinx, I think a lot of us felt was a tad bit, rushed per se. But even throughout the semi questionable pacing, there is still a lot to take in, in this scene. They don't do the best job of it, but I feel like Jinx is coming to realize what Ekko is doing in rewinding time but not for himself. It's why she is always still willing to listen to him before pulling the pin. They show she sees the smoke and the blood dropping off of Ekko. This is pushed just a bit further because Ekko uses the line "...see if I can talk an old friend out of blowing us both up." And right after this line, Jinx throws herself off the edge before pulling the pin. And this becomes a consistent action until Ekko pulls her away from this action. It just shows that, no matter what, some part of Jinx is tired of hurting others at all.
Sadly the writers wanted to flesh out the scenes between Ekko and Jinx more but they weren't given the time. One of the writers said in a interview that they hoe to explore their story more in the future. Might be flashbacks to these moments or future meet ups. I think its also important to note that the writers really didn't have a choice in the matter and seemed to be really dissapointed about it. So i guess some flaw aren't in their hands.
A cinema analyst pointed out that the final scene with the zeppelin paralleled the scene at the beginning of Arcane when Powder says she wants to ride in one someday. I believe that she was on that zeppelin leaving Piltover. #Jinxlives
One of the few editing mistakes I think they made is after Ekko stops her from k1ll1ng herself there is a scene where he tells her about the alternate universe version of Powder and what she was like. I think this is a direct rebuttal to Jinx telling Vi "there is no good version of me." There is. She exists. She's real. And she's you without the trauma. I hope this scene is on the eventual physical disk release, assuming it actually got filmed and deleted and didn't die in the script stage. I believe they said it did and it was like half an hour of content.
I found out if you are on the path of inner healing you might want to distance yourself from some people in life. There are some people out there who like to have someone around that is lesser then them. They can be loving and kind but they won' t except your change. Like Silko with Jinx. And then you can introduce yourself to people as the new you.
18:22 I dont think saving Jinx here needs to come from a place of perfect character growth for Jinx, nor do I think Ekko needs to spell it out explicitly. The show does a good job of showing and not telling (re: Every scene with Isha, especially 11:07 which is a full 2/4 phrase conversation between Jinx and Isha. Paraphrasing: J: "Look what the cat dragged in? (Humor, 'look its Isha') I: "Mom!?" Isha reframes, going from stress mindframe to a safe-place mindframe, dropping her guard. I: "I was so scared 😭" J: "So was I 😢. I'm glad your safe" ) Suicide tends to come from an impulse that a permanent solution can solve a (temporary) problem. In Jinx's case, she thinks that she ISN'T GOOD for the people around her. (Not that she IS A Good Person, but that she is cursed to kill and hurt those around her. She loves Vi too much to let Vi or Caitlyn die because of her curse, so Jinx's solution is to take herself out of the equation). I think Ekko getting across the point that he cares about Jinx, coming from the position of who was previously an enemy, helps snap Jinx out of that suicidal impulse. I think Powder's/Jinx's desire (going all the way back from S1:E1) to fit in and be valuable to her group helps Ekko's argument too, as she currently has lost most of the people she currently cares about and is in the headspace that she isn't an asset to Vi, who is just about the only person left in her life that could care and uplift Jinx. Getting another person in her life who cares, with some evidence of the fact: the monkeys in Ekkos device, and Ekkos words "someone worth fighting for" are what help reframe Jinx. I think the cut scene of Ekko and Jinx getting ready for the battle is a scene that would have helped elaborate how Ekko was effective in saving Jinx. I can imagine Jinx being fairly unresponsive as her mind is in two worlds between what was a suicidal impulse and Ekko taking care of and interacting her. I would also argue that is part of the purpose of suicide helplines, if you need to call them, is to distract you for long enough that the impulse to commit suicide dies down enough for you to continue about your day. They can help find support in your area long term, but I'd say thats icing. I dont think they can promise to solve all your problems with one call. They are there so you can keep going.
22:13 I think this is where Jinx's character growth comes in a bit, as she sees Vi start to be attacked by Warwick. Jinx is in a headspace that she might be on the sidelines while Vi dies, she springs into action. Vi tries to save her from the fall, but Jinx knows that this is dangerous for Vi so removes the option for Vi to help by disabling her glove. Jinx doesn't have to die, but she'd rather have herself die than to watch Vi die.
I don't think Jinx's growth happens in the scene with Ekko. It happens in the mini game " Jinx fixes everything" it shows how she builds Sevika's arm, explores Silco's office, finds her record, and a photo, then builds the rhino gun with hoverboard parts in Ekko's lab. It really explains when she says " it was something i could fix"

do katarina lore next
I love your character analysis so much. If you also do live action you should really consider watching the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica from 2004. I think you would have an absolute blast trying to analyse the characters in that show
I actually love the dedication to the costumes, makes the video feel more interactive!
Yeah this look complete with the lens and the finger was extra level immersive. Hit the "like" button right away instinctively.
It took me a bit to realize she had been always cosplaying as characters until I saw one that was very flamboyant and it clicked 😂
I'm glad you used the actual words rather then the censored version
yes i feel it is a healthier way to deal with it
the cosplay for this video is insanely good, my favourite one so far
merci merci
Isha’s mining hat in the background too! 😭💖✨
@TAHOEkaleidonaut I didn't notice that 😭
@@GeorgiaDowyou even went with pink contacts! I couldn’t do it. 😅That’s real dedication!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🩷🩷🩵💙
6:20 one thing I’ve seen pointed out is if you look at the bottom middle there’s a neon figure that looks like Isha trying to fight off the other ones
Awh 😭
@@daanopdebeeck2312 You can find such lapses where the energy wanes in the works of many. A great many. No one is immune. But I hope you're right.
Totally."
happy you enjoyed it and it is a multi layered issue for sure
Jinx learned to be patient wirh isha because silco was patient with her.
Also epic work with the costume!
That was the best brawl scene.
4:54 I love you responding to yourself with that laugh “NO NOT EVEN JINX” bc silco telling jinx ‘youre perfect’ played in my head when u said that lmaoo
THIS Cosplay is INSANE I love ittt
thanks !
Always with you sis!
Fun thing is Jinx isn’t dead. She got out. It’s why Caitlyn looks at the air vents and smiles in the last ep. Jinx escapes.
Great costuming. Very good video.
super insightful and the cosplay this time around is top notch, kudos!
Thank you for watching
I would love to see a video of Sevika. She is so much deeper than some people believe.
Good news, then! She did a video of Sevika (from the first season) ruclips.net/video/nifIXYuTLJ4/видео.html
8:45 That moment gives chills because whoever at Fortiche animates faces in closeups is a GOD.
Yes, 60 minutes of Jinx and Ekko were cut from the last episode, and I am certain, Ekko would've told Jinx about Powder in the alternate universe, and that there is a good version of herself out there.
he did
Awesome costume, the shimmer eyes are icing on the cake
thanks < 3

What i love about this moment is it feels like Jinx in that moment understood so much more about both vander and silco. Almost like a "this is what its all for."
ngl had to do a double take when i first saw the contact lens at 0:21 !
No side Jinx is or has to be a fucking saint.
the helmet in the background 😭
too soon i know
The shark hood looks amazing and that wig must have been really awkward to film with but you made it look natural - good work on both!
Glad I found your channel!
Gosh these videos are on a whole other level. I appreciate you dissecting these scenes, thank you for this series!!
By learning to be a big sister for Isha, in the end Jinx is ready to be a big sister for Vi, even if it means taking away her choice to let go of her hand during the ending, and the result of faking her death is Vi who is capable of happiness with Caitlyn, which is also what Jinx wanted for her.
can you pls analyze Vi’s pitfighter era? i feel like she’s been through so much and not many people talk about it :(
I love Jinx soooo much. They could never make me hate her. But yeah, she literally has been wanting to die all season.
Some of the most useful discussion about negative self talk and how it forms that I've heard, thank you for this!
Your cosplay in this video totally spooked me. 10/10, great Jinx cosplay
I love how you explain the impactful scenes.
This video went up right exactly when I needed it 💛 thank you 🌻
Welp.... I don't know that I am ready to cry eyeballs out... saving this for later!
Thanks for all the work you do Georgia
Not being able to freely express this stuff makes a huge impact on the outcome of the actions based around these thoughts, and normalizing speaking honestly like youre doing makes such a huge difference 💖
was waiting for this one
I watched Arkane with my 12y daughter. Powder/Jinx hit very different for the two of us. But we did notice how they used her hair, how it covered her face, how it filed space, as another way to tell her mood.
Christian linke (one of the creators) said that Ekko did say that there is a good version of her. That he basically said he meet au powder without exactly saying that and that jinx could feel that…feel that what he said was true and that it was really powerful for her…wish they extended the scene to include that
omg the Isha hat in the back 🥹 the attention to detail is so sweet!
New arcane video from Georgia - YES 🤩
I love your cosplay 💜 they are always fabulous, but I think this is my favourite so far 😊
Here’s a breakdown of the elements I picked up ❤❤❤
- Hairstyle: Jinx's long front bang mirrors the style of Young Silco as seen in Vander's flashback, symbolizing how Silco's influence has shaped her identity.
This relationship adds layers to Jinx's character, making her one of the most compelling figures in "Arcane."
If you'd like, I can generate an image that captures this connection or another aspect of "Arcane" you're interested in exploring visually.
Took me 13 minutes to notice the contact lenses..tho to be fair I'm not wearing mine rn...always loving the attention to all the details!
= ) just had to
HFS, this has to be my favorite cosplay of yours yet!
Also, thank you for using the real words.
Thanks so much! I was really excited to do this one. I am glad you appreciate it.
You nailed it with the ending. She wants to build something new, but know she can't do it with Vi or even in Piltover and Zaun.
Jumbled thoughts atm but look forward to trying to work them out in a write and destroy journal entry over the weekend.
got to be very comfortable actually but were a bit uncomfortable when i first put them in
It is, fundamentally, confirmed that Jinx is still alive, and that the airship we see flying away at the end there is her leaving the cities. It means the same bloody thing, and people are just afraid to talk directly about death... and we're all kind of paying the price for it right now.
what an incredible costume!!!! Love the details, im so amazed
Amazing/Perfect analysis and cosplay as always
I love your videos. Ive watched nearly all of them. Keep making more! If you could do the 4 john wick films im sure there's alot to break down :)
I can’t wait for a Vi season 2 video. Maybe it’ll help me understand more about how they wrote her this season.
I absolutely love the contacts, the cosplay is amazing
I believe that the worst part about Isha’s sacrifice is that Jinx saw it not as an act of true love, but as a “yet another” proof that everyone who comes close to her would die or suffer.
Oh. I usually listen to your videos. Nice touch with the contact lenses. Thank you for not saying unalive! It softens the severity of suicide and death. It’s killing themselves. There’s a reason why words matter.
Isha was actually trying to calm Jinx down here at 6:18
She is down at the bottom in the color orange.
You can see it is Isha because of her hat, and the fact she was holding Jinx’s gun. However Jinx’s traumas are much bigger than Isha’s little positive influence. ( ; ; )
Adorable hoodie!
THE COSPLAY!! you look incredible!!!!!!!!
ive waited so long
Uhm why is Jinx a therapist, shouldn't she be in therapy....
Seriously tho, great cosplay
Harley Quinn
She learned a lot when she went to a different location away from Zaun and Piltover
COSPLAY ON POINT 😍
Dear Ms. Dow
Watching your videos help me to have a heart to heart talk with my family and friends.
0:22 Spots Isha helmet in the background, damn you!!! 😢 😢 😢 😢
A cinema analyst pointed out that the final scene with the zeppelin paralleled the scene at the beginning of Arcane when Powder says she wants to ride in one someday. I believe that she was on that zeppelin leaving Piltover. #Jinxlives
You would be awesome ata comic con, or a costume party 💙💜
And then you can introduce yourself to people as the new you.
the cosplay today is so sick! love it!!
Paraphrasing:
J: "Look what the cat dragged in? (Humor, 'look its Isha')
I: "Mom!?"
Isha reframes, going from stress mindframe to a safe-place mindframe, dropping her guard.
I: "I was so scared 😭"
J: "So was I 😢. I'm glad your safe" )
Suicide tends to come from an impulse that a permanent solution can solve a (temporary) problem.
