Пусть этот день Вам принесет много радости, праздничного настроения,семейного счастья, благополучия,здоровья на долгие годы, успеха и процветания! С праздником Вас, 140--летия города Ашхабада!
I’d like to visit that place, Ashgabat seems to be so enigmatic, so white, so clean, so beautiful, it's something captivating. I wish I could go there someday.
Can't find any TV show that shows construction of these structures - very strange ,that such a build is not more documented . If any links folks let us know. Thanks
I was there in the past, in the late 90s.) They had just begun to build lots of new hotels and houses in the capital. But what about other towns in the country? Chardzhoy? Tedzhen? Krasnovodsk? Ashkhabad is nice but the province is extreme poor. It's impossible to hide all facts of real life, isn't it?) Not all that glisters! It would be more reasonable not to delete the Old Ashkabad that a lot of people remember, love and miss. Thanks for video.
London is very nice city, multinational. U can see people from all around the world. U can have so many opportunities, if u need job, study or whatever. Live is so quick u don t have time to loose r time. We have to plan every hour, minutes. But u get tired of this and sometimes u want to go somewhere like Ashgabat where people are so quite, relaxed. Just thinking about what to cook for lunch what to wear for party and etc... time is goes so slow ;-) and everyone around u talks in r language o my god I really miss it. When I been last time in Ashgabat I used only buses, city is so beautiful. By the way when have u been last time in Ashgabat???
+Meiserhabbo Ok, the whole city is uninhabited and the reason why is foreigners can't get visa... That's sounds fucked up to put it mildly. Why can't Turkmeni people live there?
+D'Ascoyne +Meiserhabbo Turkmenistan is a very interesting place. Unfortunately they use a lot of resources in and around Ashgabat to build new impressive buildings, big roads and monuments wich there are hardly any demand for. This is very cool as a visitor to Ashgabat though but also quite sad as there is a big contrast to the rest of the country and the resources should have been used better. In the older parts of Ashgabat and the rest of the country there's still mostly old Soviet roads and bulidings. Most Turkmen can't afford to live in the newer buildings, but there are also conserns about the quality of the newer buildings and how they would withstand earthquakes, so I think many people prefer to live in the older (and lower) ones. To get into Turkmenistan you have to get a letter of invitation from a tour operator in Turkmenistan. It's quite easy but could take you a while.
So much empty but yet so clean and so tidy ! 😮 Exactly the opposite of Dhaka, Bangladesh🇧🇩 where I live : too many vehicles, too many people, traffic is out-of-control and then you have all the noise and air pollution here 😷
God, how beautiful and clean everything is! Unfortunately, other people criticize the places where citizens keep clean, organized countries. Those who say that here is the dictatorship, yes but it is the dictatorship of common sense, cleanliness and all people should live like this. Respect pentru Turkmenistan!
+D'Ascoyne Pretty much, its very similar to North Korea, where many buidlings are empty, or only a small section of the buidling is in use (100 floors, 4 used, etc). Much nicer then Pyonygang though, at least they have power
To buy a house expensive, but government supporting people. Especially people who work for government. It lot of good facilities for the people to live and don t think about how much electricity I used? How I will pay my gaz bills. Every countries have a political or any other problems. At least we r not fighting with any other counties because of oil, gaz or any other resources. So if u want to visit Turkmenistan u r welcome.
I born in Ashgabad and I am living in UK, London now. I left my country 9 years ago. It is true that police and KGB is all around there. They do their job-protect national interest. We have to understand that turkmenistan is independent only around 20 years and we need to lean lot s of thing. Plus many countries are interesting about Turkmenistan only because of natural resources. So government is controlling who is coming and going out of country. Police which is driving and walking around usually can ask r passport and r address. So if someone is drank or strange behaviour they will stop them. Why street are looks empty? 1-government gives 3000 liter of petrol to each of drivers. Almost avery family has a car. 2- most of people are staying at home and not really going out after 9 pm. At the same time we have lot s of place to go, night clubs are open till morning. When I was walking late in Ashgabat I never scared it s safe.
Interesting ! I'm a student at university interested in the Middle East and the geo-political landscape of the region. I've read about how Central Asia is going to become the new Middle East after America has finished with that part of the world. This info came from Sibel Edmonds, former FBI employee now whistleblower. I've since thought about travelling to Ashgabat, Bishkek and Uzbekistan to get a feel for the place. Police presence is understandable i guess, if perhaps slightly heavy handed. But yes, western countries are interested in turkministan oil resources. Do you think western media wrongly portrays turkministan? Are Turkmens not that poor after all? What made you leave Ashgabat for London? Ashgabat looks like the cleanest city ever lol.
Hi, I came to UK long time ago to study and I am married now. So my family is here. But every year I visiting Turkmenistan, to be honest city is change a lot and even I need information all the time. So if u r going to see Ashgabat I will advise u to have someone local to help u. And about poor people. I haven t really see all part of Turkmenistan, I have been in many place. At least I can say that we don't have homeless people. Everyone have place to stay, can be house, flat, room. About bills I guess u know. We have lot s of jobs there, but payments are not to high, I am talking about capital. Small villages are surviving with cotton and etc.. I have to say one more thing, when we get Turkmen passport we have page and stamp on it. We are calling it PROPISKA-it s r address where u r living. So if u don t have that Propiska in Ashgabat u can study, live and get a job there. That is stamp which police checking after 11 as mentioned before. At same time we have lots of textile fabrics there so all employees there are from small villages around ashgabat. They have special transport for them provided by the companies. So what else if u will be quite and not broke the rule u will not have any problems there as everywhere :-)

So you use VPN?
Is it true that only 1% of people have internet? Is the internet censored? Like, are you allowed to use facebook for example?
If even half of this, government would have spent on their public...that would be more beautiful than this...
