Damn what a creepy past this place has. Love the drone shots combined with the history too! That room at 4:35 was wild in that condition. Then the room at 5:46 with the collapsed floor! Crazy how destroyed so much of it was then a random pile of chairs in decent shape. Like a roulette of what was next. The site had a lot of nice things to offer, especially the equipment/auditorium. I want to grab that coffee dispensing machine so badly but it's too far gone plus I know I can't just take it...would be cool for the house though hahaha! Love the architecture throughout the tour but that cafeteria was amazing! This place would've been quite nice in it's prime. Solid chair of the episode selection, worth the change. Awesome video as always bro, thanks for bringing us all along!
First of all I’m so glad you enjoyed it, I really loved putting this video together. As far as asylums go, this is as good as it gets. Especially when you add the history in, really was a freaky place to be. Each building was just a little different, and that made it interesting in every aspect. Also the chair, I’m super happy with my choices. Thanks for watching bro, hope your week was great. I’ll never stop exploring places like these, asylums are my favorite bandos
0:10 - My wife knows about this place, as she grew up outside Boston! 3:00 - I once explored a place like this called Old Lodge in Thompkins Cove, NY that looked almost identical to this. There were huge holes in the floor and the spots that didn't have holes were soft. 4:30 - I went to a boarding school that had old classroom chairs like this, with the desk built into the chair. I hated that place. 4:40 - These same metal desks that have the olive drab paint are common in police and fire departments, still to this day, as they were built like tanks. 6:35 - That bright yellow paint is common in psych facilities. 7:04 - This was likely a doctor's office. 8:34 - This is a great shot! 8:56 - Likely a supply room. The first house I purchased in 2006 was an old school house and there were built-in shelves like this still. 9:45 - The gymnasium looks like the dining hall at the boarding school I was enrolled at during the mid/late 1990's. Ironically, it was originally a gymnasium for the school before being converted into the dining hall. Again, I hated the place. 11:00 - I would absolutely LOVE to rappel off that spot! 12:10 - The green room. lol 12:40 - Chair, chair, everywhere a chair... lol 13:00 - This is a sink that is typically found in industrial settings. It uses a round fountain-like fixture so that people can stand around and wash their hands in a circle. I haven't seen one of these in many years. 13:20 - This setup is common in detention centers, as well as psych facilities where people need to be supervised 24/7/365. There is no privacy. 14:40 - Another fantastic shot! 16:25 - OMG! This brings me back to my childhood! When I was a little girl, I used to sneak coffee from vending machines like this one! 16:50 - This is an old teletype machine. Back in the day, before fax machines, someone would type messages on a keyboard remotely, and this would physically type the messages on rolls of paper at the receiving end. These were loud! I got to see one in use when I was a small child and went to work with my father who worked at Fidelity Chemical Corporation in Newark, New Jersey. This was the 1980's. Yes, I'm old. lol 17:16 - This is a very early copier. 19:01 - I love the military-style loading dock! 19:55 - An old-school optometrist office with a retina scope. 20:15 - Wow! What a find!!! 20:40 - Medical/Surgical recovery suite. Green = Oxygen, Yellow = Medical Air, White = Vacuum. The aluminum brackets are where the vacuum containers are secured to the wall. 21:10 - This is a modern hydrotherapy tub. The rails are for securing patients if needed. 12:21 - This is a fruit washer. If you and a few thousand of your friends want fruit, and you want it washed, this is what you need. 27:16 - I had one of these when I was a little girl! 28:00 - This is a setup that is unique; I don't think I've ever seen a utility sink right next to toilets before. Interesting. 28:10 - Someone camped out here and had a pretty awesome time by the looks of it. 29:36 - A pediatric restraint chair! These still exist today, but are made out of molded plastic and steel tubing. The modern ones use automotive-style seatbelts. This one is likely from the 1970's. 30:45 - Unfortunately, I have had to place patients in such chairs. It's never a fun activity for staff or patients. 31:10 - ECT setup! The whole setup! You have your patient table that allows the patient to sit up after the procedure, your respritory setup, your IV setup, and your ECT machine. Fantastic find! What's more incredible is that all of these items are in the correct order! A truly stunning and haunting video, my friend! Wow! Just wow!
Yay I’m so glad you loved it! This was one of my favorites to both film and post this year, so I’m glad to know it’s being received well. I always love reading your notes and insights on places like these. The restraint chairs? Epic. The decay? Epic. Amazing in general. Thanks for watching, more content to come 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I'm surprised that no one has bought the property after it shut down 40 years ago. Just look at the belchertown state school property now. They are building condos and there's talks about having affordable housing units on the same property. Belchertown residents and locals are not too happy about the plans.
Finally catching up on RUclips. Another nice explore Luke. A bit sketchy in places, but some of the architecture was really nice and worth it. Stay safe.
I been in such institution living but another country in north Europe you wouldn't believe what I have seen happening. I was hit, abused, put in cold showers, tied to a bed at my ankles and wrists just because I was crying or sad because I am autistic
You've outdone yourself again; this was incredible!! I haven't been here, glad to see it, I've heard for awhile it was really watched, but looks like you evaded trouble. (I've heard of the irradiated oatmeal experiments they did though) That thing you called a sink...you're right. I had one like that at my elementary school (millions of years ago 😉). It had a "fountain" in the middle that omnidirectionally sprayed water. There was a foot activated hoop at the base that turned on the water. That printer looking thing made me think mimeograph machine, but not sure. Loved the decay and the fixtures in these buildings...even being burned the chapel looked great. You're definitely right, even when it's a mostly empty building, when you consider the history and architecture...getting into your feelings and really experiencing what surrounds you is so important (and if people say it's cliché, they're just jealous). Lots of chairs vying for the top spot...there really was soooo much competition! First wheelchair was an excellent choice, but child restraint chair won by a seatbelt...I recently did an asylum explore (video coming in a few weeks) where I found a chair very similar to that one. Thank you so much for sharing; there were so many awesome finds in here, and this was a fun watch. Stay safe, have fun, and I'll be watching for your next adventure!! 👍😁🔥
C4! Hope your week was great man, appreciate the comment. You really do need to dig into your feelings in places like this. It can be easy to get lost in the crazies of all of it but you need to stay grounded and focused, part of what makes urbex challenging! Many options for the chair, I’m very happy with my choice. Im also very happy I was correct with the sink, I was a little worried about that lol. Appreciate you a lot man, let’s keep exploring!

@ 100 pct let’s do it! Let’s start talking about it after thanksgiving!
I’ve heard of this place but I had no idea it was still operating this recently!

Wow thank you for the insight, I’m very curious as to know more but I don’t want to push you. Do you enjoy watching videos on exploring such places?

I feel your pain man. My best friend went to belchertown state school and he remembers everything like it happened yesterday.
That's insane
