Ive got an old turkey fryer pot. I'll soak mine in muriatic acid for 30 minutes in hot water. It eats all that gunk off. It'll make them look almost new and then i'll let em sit outside for a day or so. They'll get a coat of rust on them and i'll dye/wax them. The rust makes the dye stick very well. Keep the videos coming. Going to set traps out tomorrow.
Hey man I just found your channel and subscribed immediately. Your videos are very thorough and honest. I actually have zero experience trapping anything let alone coyotes, but I recently had my entire flock of chickens wiped out by what I suspect are multiple coyotes. I also live in North Carolina and looking to eliminate a nuisance. Thanks for the content.
your process seems a lot easier than how I clean my traps I would soak them in baking soda and vinegar for 1 to 2 days change it out if I'm going to leave it for 2 days. then scrub them clean with a wire brush and hose them off while I'm scrubbing them it takes a while
Have you done a break down of your swivel, shock spring anchor system. I just finished waxing mine and I am curious if I need to be rushing shock springs or some extra swivels. All I've done is pick up J hooks and S hooks with some earth anchors. MB550 are stock
I wanted to do that but it won’t fit on my pot burner. I feel like you’d burn more fuel when trying to heat it up. And that fuel is not cheap at all haha. Might have to get a bigger burner and see if I can make that work! Thanks for the comment!
Absolutely, I’ll take all the help and suggestions! Just wish I could find me a cheap turkey fryer haha. But thanks, good luck to you this year as well!
Get you a metal barrel and cut it down to 1/3 the height. Works well plus you can put a drain in it

I like the cooling off the wax method vrs over flowing the pot, I’m going to try that this year 👍
Get a small steel drum from the scrap yard and power wash it. I think mine is 30 gal. But I do it over a wood fire.
I used to die and wax my traps until I found out how well speed die works, it's awesome!
Will boiling traps get skunk smell off of them? I have a couple dozen smelling high
We have a giant Chowder Pot I may be using that'd be fun to clean traps in
Nice video man I got some traps out for my uncle to keep a coyote from eating chick3ns haven't got him yet I'm 12 any tips?
Good video young man. I'm from north Carolina. What county are you from
Use powerwasher to clean?

Shock springs are unecessary. I use swivel at trap, 3 links of #3, swivel, then anchor chain.
NC requires shock springs. If you get caught without them it's expensive.
When the deer hunting vids coming
Coming soon!! I’ve been editing them the past 2 nights so it should be ready by next week!

Where do you get your milk crates from?
Local gas stations and food lion grocery stores. They typically give them away for free
Cut an old beer keg open to use as a pot!
Now that’s a good idea!!
Make sure you let the pressure off it first
