      My best guess for the slash against Yuta, is that perhaps another binding vow was made where sukuna fulfills the conditions, but obviously not the hand sign for malevolent shrine, in exchange for the slash to be significantly weaker as it doesn’t seem to cut through yuta entirely

    I have been speculating that slash was a “watered down” version ever since it happened.
    It’s revealed (or at least implied by Sukunas inner monologue) that Okkotsu released his domain on purpose rather than being forced to.
    If it truly was a bona fide world cutting slash, by definition, Okkotsu would have been cut in half no questions asked.
    Sukunas thought process may have been “well, this might not totally work but I have to try” and slung out a cut that wasn’t complete. It was still powered up by chants and hand signals but since all conditions weren’t met, it didn’t finish the job.

    2 things: First if you look at all of Sukuna's binding vows, they almost always have heavy restrictions "on paper" while being freebies in reality. He makes a binding vow with Yuji only to 1shot him instantly. MS has an opening, technically giving his opponent an escape but it's Malevolent Shrine so most get obliterated the instant it's activated. Sukuna loves making 1111¹ deals that look fair but are horrendously lopsided in his favor
    As for the Okkotsu slash, it's interesting that you mention it being "watered down" considering we do see that Yuta wasn't sliced in half. This might be the reason

  • @usurperzo
    @usurperzo 6 месяцев назад +158

    The binding vow honestly makes sense. We already know that Sukuna can launch his dismantle without moving (when he killed the twin girls in shibuya, and vs Kusakabe.) all he did with the binding vow was to allow the world slash to act as a normal dismantle in terms of requirements, which are none as I just explained. Now he has to do all THREE requirements whenever he wants to use this attack, a huge draw back. Not an asspull at all imo, because imagine if Sukuna did not have this binding vow and only needed a hand sign still? He would be launching world slashes left and right against the cast. *The binding vow made him weaker, which 99% of the “readers” are missing because everything is an “asspull” when you can’t read.”*
    Though, he doesn’t need 3 hands to do it as stated in the video. He can direct the slash after using the hand sign. He doesn’t have to do both simultaneously, though a 3rd arm would allow that which is faster just not required.

    I don’t think the dismantle he used against Maki and Yuta are necessarily the world slash, but instead it’s an empowered dismantle. In chapter 255 it’s been specified that his two lower arms aren’t suited for battle and considering the state those arms were against Yuta, it’s even more unlikely for him to pull it off. And, against Maki there were no signs of him using his MS hand signs as well.
    Either those dismantles were simply empowered or he used another binding vow.

    The one Yuta got hit with was a point blank amplified normal dismantle. Which is why it didn't fully "divide" (for the lack of a better word) Yuta. It was implied multiple times during the chapter that the only way for Sukuna to mortally wound Yuta would be a point blank dismantle, BUT THEN Yuji lowers Sukuna's CE output and control by a lot using his soul punches which is why when Yuta later closes in on Sukuna to slash his arm off and is hit by a point blank non amplified dismantle, he heals instantly and says he can take it thanks to Sukuna's lowered output. Now, after being hit by Jacob's ladder, Sukuna realises he can't use the WCS thanks to Yuji and Rika so what he instead does is he uses an amped point blank dismantle for Yuta and normal point blank dismantles for Yuji and Rika, hence the palm pointing at Yuta to direct the more powerful dismantle just at him. This is consistent with the provided information and also future events (another amped dismantle shot toward Maki that she dodges and Larue stating Sukuna's lower arms are unfit for battle at this moment)

    He sometimes does the lazy index wave like he did when Mahito touched his soul to add a little power or he might cross his index and middle finger and chant "dismantle" for more.

    I had an idea from this, which is Sukuna will be defeated not only by our main cast but by jujutsu itself.
    He made a binding vow before cutting gojo, probably also whilst cutting Yuta (he was on the brink of losing to Yuta and Yuji after all) and he will continue to make binding vows in order to not be defeated until they completely backfire on him and jujutsu itself will "defeat" Sukuna, as in the binding vows will momentarily strengthen but right after extremely weaken him, just for Yuji to finish him off.

Cleave and dismantle is not his curse technique but in order for him to use his flame arrow, cleave and dismantle have to be used as if there’s a BINDING VOW linking them. And the reason why his flame arrows are so strong is due to having to use a cures technique that isn’t his(maybe)

    We can m assuming that he just saw mahoraga use it just and learned it like that, but what if ....
    he is using it thorugh megumi's soul? Sukuna doesnt have the ten shadows now but he still can control and use megumi's soul. Maybe it doesnt make sense but whetevr

The real balance is in the use of emperor time. Every second he loses a day of his life or something like that. That is actual true equal exchange.
    What did sukuna have to give up to be able to perform such a feat? A feat great enough to bypass the greatest defense in the series and on of the most broken techniques as well. Absolutely nothing of value so far. Sometimes it’s better to leave things vague and no explanation rather than give a BS explanation and insulting our comprehensive ability. Well, I think it's just an improved output dismantle against Yuta. Similar to what Satoru did with his purple and red.
    It doesn't look like any World Slash made before, and Yuta was clear that he could only fight Sukuna because his output was reduced after the fight with Gojo. So having Sukuna aim and chant to increase the output and damage Yuta seems rational. It doesn't need to be the world slash and it makes more sense if it isn't.

      @@delta2370 I mean even if it didn't get rid of the spark why would Gojo assume the spark is anything special by comparison to the regular ass dismantle he's been dealing with the whole time.
      Also binding vows being "equal" in terms of their sacrifice seems to be heavily tied to your perspective.
      Take Miwa's vow for example. In exchange for your entire potential as a sorcerer you can never swing a sword again. Sure this *feels* valid cause it happens to Miwa and her whole life life dedication has been to swing swords really good. However if anyone else were to receive this binding vows exactly as written it's like so what? Barely a downside. You could also argue that all she has to do is like use any other bladed weapon and then she just got off Scott free.
      Or take the binding vow the narrator explains about Malevolent shrine. "In exchange for allowing a path of escape it's range is vastly increased". This... Isn't even a downside. Like sure they can get out but like... What's it matter if they get eviscerated in a moment? Ignoring the fact that for the vast majority of people it doesn't even really allow them a path of escape as stated. Like sure they can physically get out now but you just increased the range to 200 meters. The "path of escape" is an impossible distance to actually escape. And let's not even bring up the utility of it not being enclosed in a barrier. Doesn't have to domain clash or like when we see Kenjaku and Yuki scraping something like tengen's barriers can't impact it cause it has no barrier to interfere with. This one seems like a strict buff for another strict buff.

    • @delta2370
      @delta2370 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Ruritsu well we don’t really know what sukuna’s range was in the first place and how much it increased. Sukuna may just use a open barrier so he can win domain clashes. Miwa’s binding vow makes sense becuase her potential was so low in the first place. Gojo knew sukuna knew about infinity. Sukuna never launched a attack the entire fight that he thought was going to be blocked by infinity. Gojo should have been able to reason with his extreme processing power of the six eyes in that short time that Sukuna wouldn’t launch a attack that wouldn’t hit him or negatively affect him in some way and dodge.
