I like your hand technique, but be especially careful when playing faster passages, you seem to lose the legato, especially in Chopin. Also, your tone is a little ‘sparse’, maybe you’re not gripping the keys hard enough with the fingertips? Be careful not to overdo the rubato as well. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, you are spot on. I still have problem with using my hand weight especially in the fast passages. Thanks for the comment - I definitely need to improve.
Yes, I'm a student too, and I've struggled quite a bit with it too, but the difference it makes in tones is remarkable. The key however, is in the 'grip'...it's like your massaging the keyboard, and pulling the keys into your palm, not pushing it, and only use the tips of the finger and bridge, never the joints.
