This video was so helpful thank you so much I was a bit worried I was feeding to much pellets for my indoor guinea pigs but I'm feeding exactly right amount I think after lots of research I felt ok about what I was feeding but still wanted some reassurance and this video was perfect thx Erin xx
i think you need more subscribers because your channel is so informational and useful yet entertaining at the same time (not many youtubers channels have those great qualities like yours)
omg your new clothes and make up look 10/10 on you ❤,love the video Erin and its just amazing how you really care so much of your guiena pigs ,everybody should care for their pets like you do ,take care of yourself and your pets also your family
I had a guinea pig named Velvet and she looked almost identical to Erin's guinea pig, Miffy. I would have to trim her fur because it would grow so long and get matted.
Pets Palace TV my guinea pigs keep fighting no matter what I do I've tried separation and that didn't work They are both boars and brothers so I don't know what to do, I honestly hope you help Your a good guinea pig owner!!
im not Pets Palace TV, but I might be able to help you. Fighting is quite common when you have two male guinea pigs, you could try dividing the cage or maybe getting another separate cage for each of them. Cleaning the cage out more often than usual could help, this de-marks the territory, getting rid of some scents of them. Give them distractions, put lots of toys and chews in their cage/hutch, it may occupy them long enough to avoid the fighting. You should also make sure they both get enough food, in many cases there can be dominance over food and parts of the hutch/cage. Make sure your guinea pigs have hide outs, so they can hide if they feel insecure or fear the other. This is always normal for male guinea pigs, I wouldn't worry much, they will overtime overcome territorial problems and start accepting that theyre living together, and sharing things. But things could could get more serious, so overtime if youre still worried or theyre still fighting, I would definitely ask for vet advice. Get a few leaflets from pet stores they could help you out. Fighting is usually over dominance and getting to know eachother, with jut the two. Make sure theyboth get as much attention as eachother, and feed them more than enough so they definitely both get to eat and nobody gets left out. However if your piggies ae having problems over dominance with food, my sister had the same with her rats. I would suggest separate them at food time so they both get equal amounts and supervise them to make sure they are both eating normally. What exactly are they fighting over? I hope this helps and your guineas soon get along. :)
Aww, the guinea pigs are so cute! I can tell the newbie is already right at home :D Your videos are really helpful (even though I don't have guinea pigs XD, they still help me learn more about animals).
I have a hay mix that has grass, multiple types of hay, hemp and flax seeds. They always have a bowl of that mixes with Afew tiny vitamin c pellets. They also have a hay rack with long thinker hay for there teeth and get fed a large bowl of veggies each day.
Second 🙌 Love your channel ❤️ Keep up the great work Erin! I love how your videos are so interesting to watch, but also very helpful!👌 Also, sorry to bug you, but can bunnies have apples or celery? Thanks x
hi I love your videos and I'm getting guinea pigs soon so I watch you for that and also I just love your videos you can learn loads there so educational!!! love you!!!!!
Hello Erin, I've got 7 guinea pigs and I get through hay a lot more than often, my friend has horses and I can always buy hay off her. It cost £3:50. 😁 Shop brought one is expensive.
a very well informed video, and good research.ive tried a german brand of grainfree pellets bunny....which mine seem to like, love to see lots of hay. Thanks for a great video Erin.x
Amazing video as always Erin. I was wondering if on your other channel you could do some videos on starting to be a vegetarian (Pecitarian). I know that you became a vegan now but I was only wondering if you can teach people about this topic. Also I am considering on being a vegetarian but I starting of with one or two week challange and then I will see if I fit for the type of lifestyle :)
Hi Erin! I would like to know if you can feed rabbit pellets to guinea pigs if you're feeding a complete veggie diet everyday with a lot of Vitamin C? Thank you xx
Pets Palace TV Not really :( But it is really cheap and it is just much more economic for me, and I'm aware that I have to complement them with veggies because of that ☺
Love this video Erin! The editing are amazing and it includes so much great information! xx Have you moved your vlogs back over to your vlog-channel? :)
I fill up my guinea pigs bowls full with the pellets but I always let it run right down before topping it up plus I keep a lot of hay for my piggies and put veggies whenever I can. I havent had any problems with weight or stones so far, but I was considering your idea of herb plants and was wondering what you recommend?
Thank you! Yes, they may. So long as the have a constant supply, otherwise they need hay as well. Grass is much more nutritious than hay, because the drying process destroys lots of the goodness. Always introduce grass very slowly if they have never had it before, it can cause digestive problems if they are suddenly given a mountain of it :)
I feed my ginue pigs green dell pepper without seeds , lettuce and cabbage and carrots wnd pallets and Timothy hay and little treats and festa that’s what they eat in a day ☺️ she had a 50 floor space chew proof cage and has paper bedding ❤️ and pleanty of water
I know ive watched them but not everyone subscribes to that chanel so i think it would be good is she made a video about on this chanel so everyone would know.
This channel is for educational videos and other more formal/edited videos. My second channel is more informal and less edited videos, so vlogs and general lifestyle videos
My guinea pig died this afternoon. So my other guinea pig is all alone. We really don't want to get another as we don't want to go down a vicious circle of buying more and more when the previous one dies. Are there any other ways that we could keep our guinea pig happy?
I only have one Guinea Pig and I can't have another one so what should I do to keep her entertained? I also have to go to school from 7-4 so I am not at home a lot
ok then have you tried getting another guinea pig as it is bad for guinea pigs to live alone as they are very socialable animals if you really can't get a other one then fill the cage with lots and lots of toys (rosemary and happy pets are good brands) as these will make your guinea pig not as bored.hope this helped.goodluck!☺
No don't. Those are seriously unhealthy and most guinea pigs don't like them because they flavor the water and as a result they may not drink as much as they should be. Just feed them lots of veggies rich in vitamin C such a bell peppers, kale, parsley, lettuce, etc and they will be super healthy! :)
+Erin Maher No it wouldnt! They need a friend that is another guinea pig because they have there own language and way off life that you could never provide. They will be become depressed and will stop eating and finally die
i haven't owned piggies for about a year now but im still obsessed with your channel
The intro is adorable
This video was so helpful thank you so much

Can piggies befed grass instead of hay? Love ur channel x
Thank you! Yes, they may. So long as the have a constant supply, otherwise they need hay as well. Grass is much more nutritious than hay, because the drying process destroys lots of the goodness. My guinea pig died this afternoon. So my other guinea pig is all alone. We really don't want to get another as we don't want to go down a vicious circle of buying more and more when the previous one dies. Are there any other ways that we could keep our guinea pig happy?
My piggie is a bit more picky now that he is older, but he never says no to parsley!
what brand do you recommend for hay? I have three guinea pigs and there is no farms/ranches in my area.
Also where do you get straw (like for bedding) I would like to try some out for my cage.
Do a Q&A
GuineaPigLover21 Yeah
I only have one Guinea Pig and I can't have another one so what should I do to keep her entertained? I also have to go to school from 7-4 so I am not at home a lot
susanannet why can't you have another one?

Oh my, thank god I watched this video, I used to feed my piggies like half a bowl of pellets 😬

The Pet Cottage lol I did that once
😂
I do now but am going to change it.
can u do this video but for rabbits xx
I love your channel❤️ but I don't agree with you on the pellets 🙊
Thank you, what is your opinion on the subject? x
Is it okay to use hay as bedding in areas, or do you have to get a certain type?
Hay is fine, just not as just absorb as much urine.
I was wondering I'm getting guinea pigs soon and should I add vitamin tablets to there water
No don't. Those are seriously unhealthy and most guinea pigs don't like them because they flavor the water and as a result they may not drink as much as they should be. Just feed them lots of veggies rich in vitamin C such a bell peppers, kale, parsley, lettuce, etc and they will be super healthy! :)
This is such a great video I learned so much, I hope I get a Guinea pig for Christmas!!
No it's not. One of my friends had a guinea pig that lived alone and he lived until he was 9. Plus he was super happy.
Brenna D how do u know it was happy can your Guinea pig talk
Cuz gosh if it does u should have told some scientists
Plus if you play with your Guinea pig daily it'll keep it at as happy as two Guinea pigs would be.
+Erin Maher No it wouldnt! They need a friend that is another guinea pig because they have there own language and way off life that you could never provide. They will be become depressed and will stop eating and finally die
