Hey Brian, I appreciate what you are doing here but can you think about dialing down the amount of hotspotting you are doing here and in your reports? Content would be just as cool with a little bit of mystery surrounding where you are fishing.
cdvendley9 yeah some people have been coming up to me saying they’ve seen my vids and reports quite a lot, which is nice, but def don’t want to ruin the spots. Gonna keep it on the wraps from here out!
@@BrianMonticello channel is great man. Keep it up. I'm sure we'll bump into each other at some point on the water. I'll share a couple of my backpack beers with you when it happens.
Nice video man. I love how the dude next to you is telling you how to land your fish. I actually live over here and try to avoid those guys at BP as much as possible. Got tired of them telling me how to land my fish while they’re catching nothing 😂. I usually go to the far end to avoid it all! Last year was sort of a bum coho year from the beach. I caught plenty of nice kings (which were not legal) but no keeper cohos. Which has never happened! Anyways I like your vid and will continue to follow you. Fish on!
Ethan Esget keep trying haha, I was fishing for like 3 months multiple times a week trying to catch one from shore no luck, until recently at Whidbey island. You could also try some piers and throw candlefish/rotators/buzzbombs
@@BrianMonticello I heard it's good for saltwater steelhead winter time too. 36" leader, 1 oz mooching sinker, orange or chartreuse #4 spin n glo, orange or pink Yamashita 4inch double hoochie skirt.
Speedbird I will TOTALLY have to try that this year. Still have never caught a steelie. I also heard people catch them there under bobbers with herring
JoshMendoza93 yeah it’s been really slow! I’m suspecting itll pick up when the weather cools down a bit! And yeah! I’ve landed some nice ones so far on the green but it’s also been very slow
@@BrianMonticello Glad to hear you caught a couple. Gonna try and make it down this weekend. Love the videos since this is my first year hunting for salmon as well. Going to try floating for the first time we will see how it goes!
Subscribed. Great shooting/editing with the multiple cameras. Love the screaming reel and the coho dancing on the surface. Having said that, I have to draw attention to the poor handling. Super exciting to catch the first fish of the season, but the fish paid the price for the photograph. The way it swam off showed how stressed it was. Native/wild fish should be ID'd at the water's edge and released near immediately. Looking forward to more videos though.
Thanks for the compliment and yeah, you're totally right, I had this discussion with a few other people too. I should have definitely kept it at the water's edge. Won't make that mistake again, I appreciate the call out, because I'm usually that guy haha
Congrats on creeping closer to 1k, check out true north angler he does a lot of trout and salmon fishing i think u would enjoy his channel. Nice video man!
