Those updates are incredible, from absolute positioning which I learn in webflow, and selection of individual stroke which was literally impossible before
Thank you Mizko! Figma screwed the pooch hiding so many existing tools and making things crazy with changes to how things work. These pointers are magic and you make things so much better! Thank you. We are really struggling with variants now and worse, the confusing aspects of what they are calling component properties. We really can't get our prototype back together after they seem to have changed how everything works! Sorry for complaining...but I wish Figma could explain to our boss why things are all wrecked and going to take TIME to figure out when we were on a path. Not good Figma. Not good at all. But super grateful to you Mizko! These videos are lifesavers!
Been screaming for negative spacing since inception! This is great for stacked text frames that are auto layouts, finally each baseline can align to grid 🎉
figma always had problems with text alignment, and it still does. you can see that on the vertical axis, the header and body text is not aligned correctly. that's because the bounding box gets wider as the font size gets bigger. cannot understand why this is never addressed properly after all these years... at least they've put horizontal alignment "as an option" 😂
I see this as a possibility. They're already saving work in cache when you lose an internet connection, and it automatically saves when a connection is available. Let's hope soon!
As I love those Updates - I m just wondering about the effort to bring those new features into complex design systems and their relating template files. Since every new update is more or less breaking template files with overriding or neutralizing overrides. In this case I d guess that text overrides e.g. Buttons wont be an issue. But all Variants with Icons could be reset to some default state. So that would bring the need to change every element manually again. Any ideas or is thats the case?
Now you have to apply padding twice (applying individual padding was possible before), but most of the times you will be applying the same padding settings for some elements... =/ Maybe I just need to get used to it
Amazing updates! Thanks for the amazing videos, Mizko! P.S. I got my first product designer role about 3 months ago! Thanks for the support!
Hey Justin! WOOO!! Amazing work. Pinned to celebrate!

Haha! Awesome OSwaldo!! Thank you. I'm humbled.
I was waiting for the dark mode so bad. Finally it's here and it's really feels so handy with all these new updates. Better workflows are here!
Dark mode is beautiful indeed!
This is an awesome update, so happy about the new features especially the single sided borders and absolute positioning in auto-layout
Glad to hear Fraser!
thanks bro, enjoying your videos and your masterclass, I am 33% of the way through the master classes and I have learned a lot.😎🎸
Thank you William! That's what I love to hear :)
Awesome way to describe all the features and updates MiZKo Sir

Glad to hear Lucas! I've got you guys covered in a few updates coming as mentioned via email :)
I've been following you for a while now and I've learned a lot. keep good work, Thank you so much
That text align baseline is brilliant
A short 13m video, but I learned so much with it it's unbelievable
Dude thank you so much! You're videos are so dang helpful
Awesome as always! Please make a video explaining the new component properties and how this will impact future Design Systems workflow.
Amazing update! Amazing video! 🙌🏻
Love these updates. Great explanations.
Love all the new features! excellent video♥
Thanks for the video, keep it up! 👊🏼😎
Man, you are amazing! Thank you so much
Missed the config22 conference , will go through the email again … thanks for this Mizko 😌😇😍
Been screaming for negative spacing since inception! This is great for stacked text frames that are auto layouts, finally each baseline can align to grid 🎉
Glad they kept you happy!
@@Mizko Why I switched from XD ;)
Hey Mizko I just wanna say you are great. 😎😎
This was so helpful thank you!!
Thanks Kay!
We absolutely needed absolute position
Is your Master Class updated to these new features from Figma? I love your videos man, thanks!
There’s also a new update variable font! Which I think is pretty cool too
Not all heroes wear capes

Nice! Always been an issue of not being able to freely move items around in auto layout, that was annoying haha
Yes! The necessary frames were tedious.
Hi Mizko, are you updating your large design system from the Figma masterclass as well with these updates?
100% :) I sent out an announcement today!
thanks
Mizko is fluent in Figma
Fluentma
Are you going to be covering the component props and variable fonts updates?
was just waiting for your video, think we need a new video on how to create a design system using the new features.
I didn't mention the component updates because I'm planning a seperate video for that :)
@@Mizko looking forward for it then, thank you.
@@Mizko oh, this is an answer to my question too) thnx =)
Now if we can get an offline version, that would be great. I fly frequently and sometimes I wish I could used Figma in the flight to just mess around
I see this as a possibility. They're already saving work in cache when you lose an internet connection, and it automatically saves when a connection is available. Let's hope soon!
Mizko you forget to mention Component Proprites Features !
Hey Ahmad! I didn't forget, I just wanted to leave it for a dedicated video
Thanks mizko

What typeface are you using for the heading there? Very nice!
I was hoping there would be a flex-wrap type option in auto-layout to automatically wrap items to the next or previous row when the container shrinks
What version? I don't see it now and I'm on the latest version.
Now you have to apply padding twice (applying individual padding was possible before), but most of the times you will be applying the same padding settings for some elements... =/ Maybe I just need to get used to it
Why have they still not added a wrap children functionality for auto layout.
Hi Mizko ! top nav in Presentation mode cuts off in figma prototype can i get around this without hiding UI? thank you!
Always smashing the like button, like a slave, whenever you say :D
Just kidding, you're just providing great content and I wish you the best :)
Component properties?
Hey Mizko,
I've purchased your course but all files are in "view only" How can I access those without copying it to another document
Hey Kumar, are you sure you dragged and dropped the files into Figma correctly? Are you viewing the right files?
@@Mizko Yes, cause I am able to edit the first document and not the rest.. Have posted in community page also with the screenshot
Wow
Nice video and very beaudiful buddons
dark mode exits me most, am a programmer and a Kali Linux user who is allergic to light mode 😂😂😂
Godmode!
@@Mizko Thanks my g
Loved it thank you for making our lives easier😂🫠
This is not "NEW" Figma Updates
Yep! It's 6 days old now.
slow down
I'm a year late to this video, so I'm aware of these updates. But great job as always Mizko ... The Sensei of Figjitsu 🥷🏻
