I feel like it’s hardest for us more seasoned writers who need higher paying, consistent work. I was recently laid off of a major media company where I was making $600 a week. Now my pitches aren’t even being looked at because I’m not willing to work for nothing.

For seasoned writers like us, I find lead generation the best approach. This might mean getting out there and growing your brand (guest posting, posting on LinkedIn, engaging on LinkedIn/X or IG). It does take time to build, but this is how I continue to get leads every week. Keep pitching but also keep building your brand. You got this!
