    I have so many great memories of the New York State Fair. As a young woman I showed Charolais beef cattle for area farms. What an exciting time that was for a girl from Connecticut. As we were loading up to leavethe bull I was leading bolted, and ran off down through the horse barns and onto the racetrack. I had to go get another bull to try and catch the other one. The police came and made a barricade. I only weighed about 100 lbs so It was quite a sight me dragging a 1800lb bull. I could Invision you showing pigs. I only showed a pig once at a Block and Bridle show in college. Not my best talent. You are so animated in you storytelling. We used to reminisce about our farm adventures with " remember when"......such and such happened.

    I absolutely love you! I love your carefree spirit! You've probably been asked this a million times, but do you do your own hair? I love it. I am a retired hairstylist, and I do my own, and it isn't easy these days, but I'm so used to it. Love you, and wishing you the happiest of days!

      Hello Marcy, I have never done it by myself. I am so amazed that ANYONE can do it on their own! It has become my “natural” way, I guess. I have had my hair like this for over 25 years, I think. First it was my cousin who did it for me, then my husband, Richard, and now a wonderful Boat-boy-girl, emeritus whom has become a fast friend. Also, recently a boatboy reminded me that he once did my hair! So it has been through many clever fingers over the years.
      I actually keep it this way because it makes people snails -and- it is low maintenance. I only have to have it done 3 times a year, and it takes only 2 hours (or a little less). I do nothing between times! Thanks for appreciating it. It is an honor coming from an experienced Hair Coiffure.
      Ahoy, Victoria

My biggest surprise at a fair was seeing elephants, I knew they were big but until I actually saw them I didn’t know how small I was In comparison! I always loved Jersey cows, their beautiful brown eyes and gentle manner! We had a donkey ride instead of ponies! I only liked the milder rides! And I loved the farm animals! My husband was raised in a farming family. He said they had two piglets that they named after he and his little brother. (They were the two youngest of 7 children). They ended up having to sell those animals away from the farm because the family couldn’t bear to eat the pet pigs, which had turned into hogs. Lesson learned…do not name the pigs.

    • @victoriamackenzie-childs7215
      @victoriamackenzie-childs7215  2 года назад

      That is a good idea. It only invites heart-break … the anthropomorphicilization of animals. Thank you for the reminder. If we do name our closest pets, it’s ok, as actually life IS eternal and every sweet reflection is named by God, and Evervolving, running and distorting themselves. Like as when a beautiful gull flies off beyond the view, it does not mean he is stopping, no, not at all!

      You are wonderful to make most of what's there. I think farmers everywhere in the states are struggling. It is good to.show the culture that is the backbone of America. And, your stories bring it to life.

    • @victoriamackenzie-childs7215
      @victoriamackenzie-childs7215  3 года назад +1

      I know, Daniel. It is so important to show the American folks what farming and Ranching is all about. Most have no idea. The ignorance of our government about horses and the work they do so well hood & hand. with accomplished riders, makes these ignorances more flagrant. I love the State Fair for the fact that these ranchers and farmers spent a great deal of time and money to. One all the way to meet the public whom have been so isolated from our heritage and the deep Principles which permeate American culture, now, Morten ignored or deeply misinterpreted though the corrupted vision, deafens ears & loud voices of people whom lie to take the megaphone of our nation, twist the message and smother our children.
      Sorry, but I had to add to your comment. Thank you for awakening the world to what is going on in our most wonderful Nation!
