I met Earl through Jerry Powers. Hung out at Jerry's house and played a few hours with Earl. Earl is the way he is in competition because of 2 things: He is the single most passionate player to ever hold a cue, and holds himself to an incredibly high unattainable standard. Earl plays BETTER when he's pissed off. Also a unique feature in a pool player, but true nonetheless. He gets himself worked up purposely at the table. Earl isn't a bad guy, or disrespectful. Quite the opposite, actually.
@@BRAVO_FOUR_06-13 Great points. I always thought, like McEnroe in tennis, some guys need a little "revving up" to play their best. Don't know who this Powers guy is, but man, consider yourself lucky to shoot with Earl. Wish it was me.
@scottisitoro3953 Thanks! Jerry is a cue maker, player, and instructor from Texas. "Jerico cues". Hands down the best sneaky pete cue I have ever held and played with, and that includes many many other customs. He also developed the stinger jump/break cue for mcdermott. He is also a national champion at 8 ball and one pocket. Jerry is getting on in years and battling back and eye issues, but he still plays a mean game. Another thing he excels at is instruction. He brought my 9 ball break from inconsistent at best to undeniably top tier in less than a day. His custom sneaky pete and Stinger jump/break cues are among the best available cues bar none. If you ever have a chance, pick one up. I promise you won't regret it. In any case, shooting pool with Earl the Pearl will always be one of the coolest experiences of my life.
@@BRAVO_FOUR_06-13 Wow, Jerry certainly has impressive credentials, for sure. Again, I'm really envious of your practice time with Earl. Wish he'd tour Chicago area.
He keeps teaching great pool and great shots. I hope those legends never quit playing. Win or lose.
I see Earl wears a natural weight belt now.
Sure.
500 crunches/day, 3-5 mile run..his abs look phenomenal, right?
Good game by Marvin. Though not as precise and smooth in white ball positioning. He won it by sheer skill in pocketing balls
great game by marvin, beating earl is no mean feat. you can't afford to give him a chance.
Marvin Paes vs Kakek Earl 😃☕
Looks like Earl has given up running 5 miles a day.
Earl got smoked! 🚬 😳
Asis, yet another Phillipino tough player,
looks like still using a wooden shaft.
Watching Earl the Girl lose never gets old! :)
Strickland. Doesn't deserve even a single win. Disrespectful player.
