i wouldnt even know what a load resistor is if it wasnt for you guys!! thank you for all the great info!!
Awesome as always guys!
They sell heat transfer pads similar to the paste you were talking about only it's a foam pad. It would help to put 1 or 2 under each one of the resistors so that they make better contact with the Heatsink
Yes, I was thinking about adding those in at some point. It was just nice to finally have some time to get it built. They have been sitting on the bench for months.
@@FiveStarCarStereoInc I tend to get projects like that. It's rewarding to finally make progress on something that's been neglected. It would be cool to get a huge heatsink and make a 5 channel load. That way you could test 5 channel Amps too!
Or I guess you could get another small sink and just mount the 1000w resistor separately.
But... if you get another 1000w resistor bank you could do 1 and 4 ohm up to 2000w and 2 ohm at up to 1000w
Snap ring pliers will pop off mosfet clips!!
I love these videos guys! Keep them coming.
Awesome idea
Another great video,
F'n great idea Dean!!
Your a Genius..... luv the Stuff you come up with and Build on the Shows !!!! 👏
Dude that's slick!
Time to get the full Steve Meade Designs AD_1. Time to join the big boys like BigDWiz and Ryan Blankenship.
I’m not against the idea, the question is what would it do for me as an installer? How would it help me do better installs? It may be good for the show, but we work on customers cars first. Most of the products we use have birth sheets done using way more advanced tools then the Amp Dyno. Don’t get me wrong, it is definitely a cool thing to have and we talk about getting one all the time. Maybe one day.
@@FiveStarCarStereoInc bragging rights and it would look awesome.
Could also be a good upselling tool when someone brings in some MaxSonics garbage for you to install this "2000 watt" amp that actually only puts out 800 watts.
just put the screw driver in the litle hole the metal has holding the trancistors and pull it down.. its easy to take them out..
God job dad
Thermal paste under those resistors ?
Removing heat sink clips use Allen wrench use angled end put end in opening on clip keep it 90 deg to clip and use long straight end for leverage and pull back on wrench
That works, thank you
Awesome idea! Where did you get those load banks? Thanks
Amazon
Dean, I have a 2015 Charger that I’m adding two amps, mono and 4 channel. I decided to go with the LC7i. The charger does not have a premium system but want to keep the factory radio. Needless to say the LC7i did not get signal front the factory radio. If I used 30ohm 10watt resistor will that work?
I would love to see you guys test deck power and show clip points you guys might be on to something no one is doing on the web, also you guys rock
Too bad you cant expect 2 products to match identically.... Everyone should just buy a liumy lm2001
that fan won't do much when you set the bottom of the amp on a flat surface lol
We can always add leg to it.
NICE 👍😄🔥🔥🔥🔥
I run two RP series amps in my car. the RP-3500.1D for my subs and the RP-75.4AB for my mids n highs
So do i.... for the money I dont think they can be beat.
Dean and Fernando= GENIUS!! Now finish that thing off by painting a quick coat of black covering the Skar and other writing and either paint 5 star radio dyno or whatever in white like the skar and mission fully complete... Another 20 min or so and she'll be looking BEAUTIFUL!! Much Respect GUYS and Good Karma Always!!!
hey dean where did you get those drill bits that have the screw thread on it?
I've seen them at harbor freight about 15 bucks for a 4 bit set I think.
I love what you guys do. Is there no load reactance to consider when testing audio output? You have the resisters, but you aren't accounting for how a speaker interacts with the decks amplifier at high volume, you are just getting a snap shot of the output at 4 ohms. You will likely get a higher, unrealistic measurement this way compared to what the deck will put out with a 4 ohm car speaker connected to it, or 4 speakers for that matter. Wouldn't putting 4 quality 4 ohm speakers in a sound proofed isolation box, properly design to minimize cone compression work better as a realistic load?
Cool idea, if you ever do wanna get into repairing amplifiers there a channel called barevids that does some informational videos on the subject. I thoroughly enjoy y'all's videos too, keep it up!
1000w into resistors is the
Equivalent of 2/3 of a basic space heater lol
Good thing its not ever going to see 25watts per resistor
@@mcf3778 I was referring to the 2 ohm 1000w sub resistor he has.
@@dominicdymond i must not have caught that one
If I plan on sound deadening the interior of a 2017 Ram 1500, do I just use CLD tiles like Stinger road Kill or do I need to use something like mass load vinyl?
We just use RoadKill Expect and baked potato the door
Best custom built load resistor bank ever:) ( i think you need to trade mark & make ‘em)
The items he used are already patented so he would have to ask permission and pay royaltys.... Trademarks are used for design logos
Oh the horror... Router bit on aluminum... I cried
I use those resistors on drives for dc bus over voltage when dynamic braking is used on electric motors.
I use 4 of those 1000 watt resisters. 2 ohm each.
How much money do you spend on South Howard does the store reimburse you for all the stuff where are you guys rich
Hey Dean do the RP series Amplifiers have good sound quality?
The rp 4 channels are a/b amplifiers so yes awesome sound quality.
I dont get these resistors, wont they take all the power away? Maybe i just dont understand it. :D
No they load down the headunit so the amm-1 can do its job.... Its not for an install
I know what I'm doing this weekend
Way cool guy's
Need to put 5 star stickers all over it or get it powder coated 5 star colors Theez nutz
😍 shut up and take my money! Message me I’m interested!
Hey how to fix error 23 on a pioneer stereo
Are you guys nextdoor to fire station ....a lot of sirens...I hear samething every time my wife cooks ...fire dept sirens hmmm...
Yes
Barevids is great at fixing amps
He is good but water damage is a no go.
Waiting on that one guy that says put the amp in rice! Lol
@@mcf3778 my man! Haha
