Ophilia, The Cleric/Flamesgrace, Guiding Light - Orchestral Arrangement (Octopath Traveler)

- I really like Octopath Traveler's soundtrack. For good reason too, it's very reminiscent of the golden age of Square JRPGs to me, back when the composer only had so many tools to work with, so they were forced to write memorable melodies. Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, and Secret of Mana were all examples of this, and I find Octopath Traveler to be of a similar style (for those familiar, Ophilia's theme really reminds me of Celes's Theme from FFVI). I was instantly hooked on the melodic hooks of Octopath's score.
Speaking of which, this is an arrangement of Ophilia's theme, as well as the music to her hometown, Flamesgrace. There is definitely a bittersweet nostalgic quality to Ophilia's theme, with a feeling of hope despite being surrounded by tragedy. And Flamesgrace screams comfort in the midst of a cold, unforgiving landscape. It was my intent to encompass all of these feelings into this arrangement.

Flare Blitz Banana I finished it yesterday and let me say you really should. I love every single theme in this game (some more than others) and I think it’s one of the strongest parts of the game. Also for anyone unaware another octopath game is confirmed (and no im not talking about the mobile game) so get hyped

Ophilia is my favourite character in Octopath and this song is absolutely captivating! I listen to it nearly every day and I never get tired of it. You did a remarkable job mashing two amazing songs into one absolutely beautiful song! Keep up the amazing work and I look forward to what you do next!

I couldn't finish octopath traveles because I got stuck on Flamegrace bacause of this music
One of my favorite soundtracks ever, Top 5 easily. Great game, story and characters were just ok but everything else I loved especially the music.
I wasn't really a fan of the section from 1:35-2:13 -- it has sort of a marching/military sounding beat that doesn't really fit and some of the beats seem misplaced, and then at the end it sounds like it's about to transition into a big electronic bass drop and it doesn't. I love the rest of the arrangement though, great choice to use the organ. The majestic section at 3:25-4:13 blew me away and more than made up for the slight weirdness earlier. Great job with this mix :)
