- Meet up, lunch and little drive out with some like minded HSV owners. Plenty of looks as these Aussie icons took to the British B roads to make some noise!
Well as an Aussie, I am horrified to see these brilliant cars on little narrow roads. They need to be on long wide Aussie roads that they were designed for. Please send them home, they belong here!!!...lol...Enjoy them mate. Cheers
LOL, there are plenty of larger roads don’t worry ;). Seems like a few of them are making their way home now as the price difference is huge.
I have a commodore Hsv here in the U.K.
on throttle bodies 👹
They weren’t made for Australia as there just a tweaked opel/Vauxhall omega 😆😆
@@callum4035 Obviously you know nothing about cars. They were built in Australia and exported to the UK for Vauxhall to sell.
All you have to do is look at the build plate and that will till you. It's in the engine bay and I am sure an owner will show you if you ask real nice
I live in Perth Western Australia And own a Holden Commodore Ute, built in Elizabeth South Australia.
@@callum4035 Aussie Built HSV. in U.S. G8 /SS in Uk Vaux vxr8 .But all U.S. Corvett
a sound that is so rare in the UK, one of the rare things I miss about Oz!
Beautiful car, here in Brazil we have thousands of Holden Commodore renamed "Chevrolet Omega" and few units of the Pontiac GTO
I own myself a 2005 CV8Z it’s been my dream car as a kid and finally bought it a few years back. I literally look at her all the time like offft 🥵
Long live internal combustion!
My Monaro had stealth mode everyone knew I was not sneaking home or going to work. But they knew it could be a lot louder.
I have always wanted a Monaro VXR or VXR 500
Like watching real life FH4 lol as an Aussie love seeing these cars anywhere but especially here in OZ where they were built.
I think the UK and NZ got the better looking versions, as for some reason the rear spoiler is not that common here in Aussie and I think it looks far nicer with it. I am generally not a fan of spoilers either
Lol I'd be in an accident for sure! I'm to use to driving on the right side of the road!! 😄
Fabulous cars 👌
I always liked the look of the 2dore's
Fantastic !!
Looks like the A40 / Beaconsfield / Gerrards Cross to me.... my old stomping grounds.
was that a maloo next to the black GTO ?
Yes it was.
Such great cars and I so miss mine😎😎😎
but ur drivin on the wrong side of the road... ;) love these cars. had an 05 GTO LS2 up until about a month ago. bought it a year old. took care of it and never had problems. great road trip car.
Something about the Coupes .Had only 5.7 vxr then .Now vxr8
Oh, were there the maloo too? So four cars in total? By the way i really like the "valves closed" sounds, that tone sounds sweet
There was a Maloo, VXR8 and 3 Monaros. Only the Monaros came out for the run though 👍
@@MonaroTravels clear! Was that VXR8 Maloo or HSV Maloo (exported)?
@@peterstruckphoto The VXR8 Maloo is the HSV Maloo exported, one and the same car. They were all built in Australia, Vauxhall did not build the cars, just put their badges on.
@@BatMan-oe2gh yes, i know that. I was wondering was it bought in Australia and imported to UK as HSV, or was it bought in UK as Vauxhall :) Because i know that VXR8 Maloos (those that were sold specifically in the UK and under the Vauxhall brand) are very rare
@@peterstruckphoto I believe that was a UK bought car (Vauxhall badged).
Commodore coupe
Car sounds epic Rich.
Thanks mate, I listen to this though and I keep hearing the rattling exhaust cutout valve that subsequently fell apart 😂
Awesome 🇦🇺
Always want a 2001 monaro or a VY SS Commodore, some day I will
Lovely cars, the vxr500 is the daddy, probably 30k for one now,👍
Daddy my ass🤣🤣🤣
@@jameswilson8820 it’s the most powerful vxr monaro. The top vxr8 is the gtsr w1.?? Is it not…? Hence the daddy tag.😝😝
Do they still make these warrior car's? Just asking cuz i know Pontiac went under.
Sadly not. Holden who built them all including the GTO folded in 2017. The Monaro ceased production in around 2005/2006.
@@MonaroTravels Sad End of the Aussie V8s
No, Holden closed in 2017 after GM shut it down, so no more HSV cars like these any more. The Pontiac GTO was an Australian built car and exported to America.
@@peterlee6745 GM v8
Until a few years ago I had an ex-cop XC 351C Falcon Interceptor. It had the standard exhaust, bonnet scoops and Dukes Of Hazard mag wheels. I've lost count of the number of times Monaro drivers would come alongside and dare me to go for it. Never lost, not once. It didn't have the 351 badges on it and fooled everybody.
Love these
19/10 22 GM have / had so many model lines & could / can put together these beauties ! Is there now an EV equivalent ?
The coupe looks so much nicer than the saloon imho - wouldn't mind an estate though..... reminds me of the Omega I had once - nice car but with dodgy handling and a crap 2.5 v6 !
You can not beat them LS v8's, hopefully one day i can buy a monaro or a vxr8.
Will we see an opel Monaro soon?
That's 300 kw for ya there
I'll send you Holden badges to replace the yucky Vauxhall badges
LOL, it’s stamped as a Vauxhall Monaro VXR on the HSV plate under the bonnet so I’m happy that’s what it it’s badged as ;)
@@MonaroTravels Sounding well there ! Got a 56 plate red Monaro Vxr myself had a it few years love it with my other old school performance Vauxhalls ! These people with the badge snobbery really annoys me if the cars weren’t marketed and sold here by Vauxhall like it’s says on the logbook they wouldn’t be here unless you personally imported one yourself maybe a nice crap handling mustang be less embarrassing ha 👍🏻
@@MonaroTravels yeah we’ll get rid of that also. It’s not right. Makes us feel uneasy knowing this 😂.
Have a look at my commodore if you want
Just had a look over at your channel and found I have already watched a number of your videos :). Very nice car mate 👍
@@MonaroTravels
Cheers. My favourite mod is the kaaz plate diff. Huge improvement
Too quiet to be
Tiny ass roads .
