    This young man certainly knows how to handle that crane ! He's almost as good as I used to be ! lol. I never liked that type of forks tho'.....I always used an hydraulic grab,for my work (bricks,blocks and roof tiles.). Good job tho' ! ;-)

    Have been considering going for my hiab license, currently driving class 1' and working nights away, much to the annoyance of family. Can anyone advice if working hours are better. Is it worth forking out the money and making the switch. Any help much appreciated.

      It's probably worth it to have. Find a job where the company pays for it instead of you.

    It's too bad video wasn't around when I used to use these cranes for tar and gravel roofing. Gravel in roofs for sometimes 10 hours a day will make you a pro in no time at all and lightning fast. But slinging gravel to the roofact in a bucket isn't the same as sending rolls on a pallet to the roof via the "forks" our forks never had a lever to make them spin either. It was all the operator. Funny thing about roofing now though is I came back to it and with 1000's and 1000's of hours running every crane under the sun I'm not even allowed to touch the controls now because I'm not 'certified'. Same goes for operating the smallest stupidest forklift you've ever seen. I can't go near it but some stupid ass 20 year old punk with his certification can. What a fuckin joke the world is these days.

      Not every 20 year old is a punk, some have thousands of hours on forklifts too.

      as if that's gonna do anything if a pallet lands on your head... jeez!

      +Sean King Sir Tarquin and if the hook swung & hit the head? Think safety or your end up a static

    • @Saunis
      @Saunis  8 лет назад

      +Andyb2379 That would be same as construction worker hit on his fingers with hammer...
      As it was windy, flying dust / sand in to my eye is more probably than me hitting that hook in my head.
      (and crashing/falling pallet is next... or hydraulic hose exploding.)

      There's always some bitch whining about shit like that. As if you're lifting the shut up overy your head with a rusty set of forks or something. Hard hat? You could do the job in slippers and a g string without incident if you wanted to. Safety idiots piss off the common sense world. It's all about the "power" of being in the position of safety guy.
