You stayed humble too which I liked. I met you in person during a concert in Albany NY by the water in 2007 . I got a great picture of us plus a signed autograph on another one that I unfortunately lost in hurricane Irene in 2011 along with all my kids baby pictures. Wow! That was a long time ago! I followed Bo around for a few years after Idol…he was always amazing. A wonderful, beautiful soul with a voice that-can bring bring you to your knees. Bo definitely should have won, but after meeting him, listening to him,and seeing what he’s done..I can say he is happier being home with his family and not caught up in Hollywood! Bo was one of my favorites! I remember being 13 during this American idol and Carrie was my favorite from the auditions and bo was my second and the whole road I would vote for both (5 calls each up until the finale) and thought either way one will be the one I follow through bc there’s no way I’m gonna see them both in the finale and have to go against both of my favorites! Lo and behold both ended up in the finale and my heart broke because I wanted either to win! I adore Carrie and of course wanted her to win but I wanted Bo as well! It’s crazy how it worked out and all these years later, I still love them both and either way, they’re both amazing and deserve every bit of success and happiness! Yay Carrie and Bo!!!!

@@Zackmillsfan7 It wasn't just Carrie anytime the top 2 shared a coronation song the person who did better(in my opinion of course) ended up winning in season 1 Kelly did better in both A Moment Likee This and Before Your Love in season 3 Fantasia did better in I Believe (my all-time favorite) in season 6 Jordin did better un This Is My Now and in season 8 Kris did less bad in No Boundaries (that was just a terrible song that didn't fit either Kris or Adam's voice).

Bo always got louder mote resounding applause for his songs. So many people probably took for granted that he was a lock to win it, meaning they didn't bother to call in. So I for one was shocked Carrie Underwood won.
Shouldn't have been - She was always the #1 favorite to win. Since this show, she has sold over 85 million records worldwide. What is so shocking? She was the most voted contestant every single week. Because she resonated with the audience beautifully. The impactful way she sings is, and still is, amazing. She is the full package. Honestly, Bo Bice fell flat on this song.
Simon knew that anyone going up against Carrie was the biggest uphill battle ever on idol to that date. He still to this day thinks Bo was the best 2nd place finisher ever on idol.
He was actually backstage throwing up. He'd been sick for the past week performing. He almost died not to long after. Had to be rushed into emergency surgery. I forget which one but one of his intestines was pretty much eating the other. That's why he wasn't able to hit that high note and they thought it was his nerves. He was very sick. VH1 documentary goes into detail on it. He still struggles with complications from it
