My first time in Smithers was in 1972. My last trip up that way was around 1987. Thanks for making this video because I don't know when I will ever get back there.
@@BLAKHARTFILM The reason I asked is Smithers is very far north in BC and not a popular tourist destination particularly unless you happen to be into very remote fishing. For example, I’ve lived in southwest BC most of my life and have never visited Smithers. I did visit Terrace when my uncle was doing archaeological field research. I also lived in Prince George for a short time. Maybe you also visited Smithers when you were a grad student? Just a guess. How do you like living east of Calgary? I’m living in southern Japan, but can’t wait to return to Canada 🇨🇦. Planning on moving to northern BC, near Smithers. Wouldn’t you know it.
@@ShikokuFoodForest I lived in Kitimat, off and on for about six years and had friends who lived in Smithers. Still have friends in Terrace. Lived in half a dozen places in BC. But, I am a prairie boy and prefer to live where I am. Hope you are able to make it back to Canada. Cheers
@@BLAKHARTFILM Hello, Thank you for sharing. Plus thank you for your positive wishes. Kitimat is not so far away from the general area I’m planning on relocating to. How did you like Kitimat? I’m surprised you have friends in Terrace. That’s great. Terrace is such a small, remote area. You really prefer the prairies? I would miss the mountains too much living on the prairies, I think. I’m sure looking forward to returning to Canada in many ways.
@@ShikokuFoodForest I recognize the scenery,if you mention the town I would kinda expect to see the town is all. Smithers is a beautiful Bavarian looking town. After rewatching it didn’t show. I still like the video quality it’s awesome.
@@llotglen I see your point. You are so right. This video predominantly captures the surrounding forests, mountains and overall countryside. No views of the town at all. In fact, I’d like to see the town. I’ve never been there, but am planning on moving to subarctic, northern BC from subtropical, southern Japan after 12 years away from Canada 🇨🇦. Thanks for your comment!
I think they might've been trying to portray the lifestyle in the video by adding these slo-mo shots. Life in Smithers is relaxed and easy going, not a regular town where you're rushed. I personally love the slo-mo shots, it makes me think of how relaxing this town really must be. If you wanted to portray a busy nightlife style I could see using less slo-mo, but here they used it perfectly.
YEPS CHIPS-> BEAUTIFUL LOVELY PICTURES AND THANK YOU FOR SHARING.

Beautiful scenery, awesome camera work. I wouldn't say it captures Smithers though.
What is missing in your opinion?
