I SOMETIMES do runs where I only want pro toons but I’m not mean to starters😊
To be fair, people should respect if a group of players want mains only. I mean it's kinda like the same deal with them wanting to do an all (insert character) run or a dandy run. So it's understandable for the other players to get mad when someone is being disrespectful and ignoring their wishes. But that being said, I don't think it's good that the other players are responding to this issue by saying 'KILL BOXTEN' or something like that. So honestly the toxic behavior is on both sides. I don't think it's wrong to have a preference, but I do think it is wrong to respond negatively when people are going against the preference of the run and it's wrong to purposefully ignore another's preferences.
How is the toxicity on boxten´s side???? Its just simple trolling and these idiots in the run think that is the end of the world. If you want to do a main only run, just join a private server, or just dont do them at all. The entire premise is dumb. Youre just blocking out 15 whole characters for just 5 others. 2 of which are mediocre, compared to the rest of the mains.
Well purposefully choosing a different toon other than a main in a main only run is pretty similar to buying during a dandy run. If the community can agree that buying during a dandy run is annoying, then shouldn't being a toon other than a main in a main run also be considered annoying?
Private servers don't guarantee protection from trollers btw, someone could pretend to be a main only to equip Shrimpo later. Yes, it can help limit that happening, but nonetheless it still happens.
Finally, there is a purpose to having main only runs and blocking out 15 other characters. A majority of the time, players with mains tend to be more experienced. Now there are the occassional exceptions of mains who are not as experienced, but as I said before, mostly people with mains are experienced. The point is to get a run that has more experienced players and by making it a main only, is the only way to really tell.
As I mentioned before in my other comment, I do think it is wrong for people to act like it's the end of the world whenever one starter or Shrimpo appears in their lobby.

@@thesquad6833 It’s on both sides. Depending on how each one acts. Ppl shouldn’t have to go into a private server or stop playing the game just because an 8 year old thinks it’s funny to be annoying. If you say no starters, then the starters should understand that they aren’t allowed to join. There’s plenty of runs that starters can join anyways. They don’t want newbies in their run because they die quickly, lead twisteds, and decide ‘Oh! I don’t know how to play, instead of reading the information that’s in the game to help me learn, I’ll just go in runs and ruin them!’ It’s kinda annoying. If the ppl hosting the no starters run act rudely, then they’re toxic too. In my opinion, if ur a starter, then first, no matter what, read how to play, then if you can’t get into a run, either go solo, or host one yourself. (Sorry for kinda arguing! If anything on this was rude I’ll edit my comment)

I can understand the hate because of the stereotype, yet hear me out- there's starters out there that are trying to play the game and learn how the mechanics works but what pisses me off is people uses poppy and boxten to troll people and ruin the game during the run, take this for an example (it just recently happened to me) I found a bandage and I was reserving it for our distractor, yet a poppy took it and my team saw it happen, I just said to the chat that poppy took it and yeah, they started leading the twisteds to poppy (I didn't join them, I just watched them die-) the people who are leading the twisteds to poppy are the one's who died- me and poppy are the only one that's alive and I just left the game after that, fighting toxicity with toxicity gets you nowhere though, yet one more thing that ICKS me is when people pretends to be a starter and would try to join a pro run, if the host says no then the "starter" would transform into a main toon, trying to make it look like the host hates starters but really the "starter" toon that transformed into a main toon is just guilt tripping them, yet I am sure not all boxten and poppy users are like this, there are still people out there who uses them and they are actually good at the game while using these starters (I still use poppy for fun, she's fun for me to play as her, I have a vintage skin of her actually-)
This is what I hate about the dandy's world community, the community itself if okay but the people in it are just toxic, making the community look bad because of the people giving it a negative reputation

Box can reach 1.5 extract which is actually 5 star extraction speed if the server is 8 player's, on the other hand, poppy most of the time doesn't have an ability so the commenter would like box more because box is basically a vee but witn less skill check and more movement speed and stealth.

It's a stereotype that pop and box player's are new so they don't want someone who doesn't do machines or distract because starters don't know how to do those. But I agree that do players are too harsh on them, if someone asks how to play the game, they should just point out the information menu in the lobby.

cons:
1. May or may not be a dumbass
2. gobbles every healing item
3. Does not chat too much
4.may fail skill check
5. Sometimes annoying, but there are some that are nice
6. Some are rude
pros
1. may be used as a Meat shield due to the 3 star stealth
2. May pick up air horn and lead the twisted to themselves
3.they can be teached, which can improve their gameplay drastically
4.they can learn from the pros
5.will at least try to help the team(or not cuz they don't know anything about the game)
I would understand why people hate beginners. Beginners usually bring twisteds to people, dont do machines and run in RnD's circle.

honestly as a player who has been playing dandy's world for months since the sprout update dropped and then the 0.4.0 dropped this saturday or sunday i have to say that most of the people in game are overall friendly people tho i dont rlly interact with the other players only when im hosting a run as brightney or goob but this behavior is pretty toxic due to the fact theyre telling you to do such things but starters can be annoying i have to admit but i do take care of them whenever they join a run i host but sometimes i dont let them in because they just die quickly ruining the numbers...but it doesn't mean ill suddenly saying the most evil things i can probably say but i think starters should also respect the "mains only run" that people host or a specific character like for example: "Shelly only run" something like that since it will be ruining the fun for the other party anyways as i was watching video in this part right here 1:30 you purposefully trolled them there which is to say kind of annoying due to the fact they probably wanted a main only run though i get the fact they didnt believe you were a pro since your a boxten with no trinkets but it doesnt really mean all the people who use starters are bad tho...anyways thats all i have to say and this is all my opinion.

1- they can be used as a meat shield

4- they can help you lose twisteds when on low stamina
5-you can teach them to play helping and improving their gameplay
6-they can be admins/pros in desguise
7- they will often try to use airhorn to lose your twisted

I think people mainly hate noobs because the character itself, Boxten and Poppy are ok but almost every other toon (aside shrimpo and maybe rnd) are better then them.
Box is actually pretty good, can be 5 star extraction speed at 8 player lobbies and unlike vee has more movement speed and stealth but 1 star skillcheck less. Poppy doesn't have a niche so she falls flat from the other's

I am SO SURE that’s an all main run. Not trying to be rude, but in all sense, if you don’t wanna respect that it’s an all main, might as well leave. The fact that they’re sending death threats is concerning too, I’ll say that. But like, it doesn’t make sense. You’re annoying them and they’re (maybe) doing the same to you. And bringing people to the priv is quite a hassle.
Hi. Im gwen and i can undersrtand all the hate for starters, i see a bunch of no starters run and i try to make runs for everyone. Since new update starters can use skins so not so much hate! Anyplayer should be allowed! When doing a (main/ someone) only run atleast have one person that isnt a (main/ someone).
once I was playing as poppy(i have shelly) and this REALLY toxic guy was bullying literally every poppy or boxten. in the run he said I would die on floor one…but instead he did 💀 i made it to floor 21 😂
Im Perfectly fine with Starter Toons if they dont:
-Lead the Twisteds to everyone
-If they steal my Twisteds when I'm distracting
-When they steal a Machine if i have better Extraction Stats

To be honest, the dandy’s world community is toxic now, they make get mad at new players if they make one mistake which to tbh is extremely toxic, and they don’t act like they were a starter in a first place. So seriously it’s going out of hand and people are basically punishing them by griefing them which is technically not allowed in the rules.
I feel this type of stuff. I'm usually a rodger player but every now and then i'll pretend to be a new player (taking of any skins i have and such) and just see how players act. roughly 90% of players instantly leave an ele if I join it once theres less than a second left on it. Little do they know I run Vee after they leave (A: because im going for mastery and B: to not show the truth of what i have to them). Any player that stays gets to see that im an actual good player and we usually have a decent run reaching mostly floor 20+. Players need to learn that starter toons could be really good players or actual new players trying to find people to learn how to play off of.

It's not really that unfair, they had to change it because of the gambling mechanics being restricted in certain places (the UK and Australia, for example). So the higher cost just allows you a guarantee of what skin you want and gets rid of the gambling.

Boxten is actually a good toon if you have a big lobby, but most starters are trash at the game and die floor 3 or smth. It doesn’t help that you’re using the base skin and 0 trinkets.

Hating on starter toons is valid in my opinion as they simply don’t contribute as much to the team as other toons
