Liked before watching! ❤😅 I've got some questions pls. Is it possible to apply and enroll in Yrkesakademin from Nigeria? Also, from their site, they say they host classes in Swedish and Finnish, is this true? Can I choose to just go with Finnish? Do I need to prove language proficiency with either before I can enroll?
If you know Finnish or Swedish then you’re eligible to apply at anytime through the Swedish or Finnish route but if you can only study in English then you have to wait until they start application for English speakers. Applying directly from Nigeria depends entirely on the school decision, we are hoping it will be possible from next year . And yes, you need proof of language proficiency. Specifically duolingo
Thank you Nenye. Please Can I switch from any course to practical nursing when I come to Finland? For example, if I applied to study business administration and I got it and come to Finland can I decide to switch to a free vocational school that offers practical nursing?
@@Mizchinny_ thank you for replying swiftly. They don’t care if I don’t have a science background? And also can I apply for masters using my HND? And please I can’t find any free school on the university of applied sciences. What did you do about the first tuition you paid?
@@Mizchinny_ There is no subjective right which entitles higher education students to get a place of study in vocationally study programs. They need to go through an entry admission process.
@@NessaOkan It really makes not much difference since in the residence permit application process applicants need to show proof of having those funds anyway for a year. The only difference would be that the money would have to be in your bank account.
Language proficiency in the language of tuition is always required no matter which language is used or who the student is. It would be insane to have students who cannot understand the language used for teaching.
Is Riveria college admitting people September cos my Aunt have started my application since July. Infact I just did my motivational videos on Restaurant and catering services and also on Food production program. So I want to know if Riveria are starting their session next month

It's Yrkesakademi i Österbotten. There are jobs in Helsinki where the main language is Swedish. As an example there is currently a shortage of Swedish speaking kindergarten teachers in Helsinki. But those are a small minority. So in that sense not having Finnish skills would have an effect. On the other hand, in those jobs where Swedish is required, knowing it is an essential skill.
From my experience, you will need to learn Finnish if you want to stay somewhere like Helsinki. My school teaches both languages even though it’s a Swedish school
@@thepreciousperspective For people who know English Swedish can feel more familiar to learn because both are Germanic languages. Finnish is from a totally different language family. Some find learning something different interesting. From a cultural perspective, knowing both can be interesting. Swedish speaking people in the Helsingfors/Helsinki area have their own old subcultures with own institutions. But from the labor market point of view, Finnish is needed and practically all Swedish speakers from the Helsinki capital area are fully bilingual using Finnish and Swedish. Take the President of Finland as an example.
Exact eligibility requirements are available from the Studyinfo website. Read them. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a suitable field is the basic requirement. In a UAS program also work experience is required.
There's no single English test "the English test". There are plenty of English tests historically from different countries. You better be more specific about which test you are asking about. Or better still, they all have information online so you could do some googling and read yourself about them.

Most of the schools requires a full fee for the first year not deposit, that makes it tough. Any school you can recommend that allows deposit?
