Well he is called EPIC nate for a reason, and this frequent, amusing, comic sentence probably helps a bit. Personally, it kinda reminds me of my dad, since he likes to say: "I'll kill you till you die from it" just to be goofy. Also in a Mexican accent for some reason, not sure why since all my ancestors stem from from English royalty from long ago. Nate putting on that accent would ruin the effect in my opinion, it just doesn't match. As an irelevent question, do any of you know the ID for the giant loaf of bread shown in one of Nate's previous videos? I accidentally sold Cuddle Loaf (That's its name) and didn't realize until it was too late and the trades recent. Apparently, it's so uncommonly known that I can hardly find the slightest clue to its existence on the internet, much less the ID to respawn it in. Even though I love Cuddle Loaf, I had made far too much progress for me to be willing to load a previous save just for that. If nobody knows, then may Cuddle Loaf reset in piece(s).
I was super impressed to discover that most of the music that you can hear on Solstheim, especially near Raven Rock, is the music from TES3: Morrowind. I really appreciate musical references and subtle themes carried across to signify certain people and places. :)
Well, Solstheim is under Dunmers after the Empire gave them right to establish colony after Red Mountain incident. So, it makes sense for Bethesda to use the TES3 soundtrack, not to mention it also saves them cost and hypes the nostalgia among players.
Good golly. After all the talk about Horker Island, you didn't even mention that this was the source of the name for a major pirate group in the main game (quest Rise in the East)? Read Saden's journal again. He wasn't a reaver, but a member of a nameless gang of pirates based on Japhet's Folly. The pirate leader sent two pirates out to Horker Island. One returned to bear the tale, which obviously prompted the gang to choose the name "Blood Horkers".
There is something that most people miss - when you defeat the first dragon, if you have subtitles on you can see he says "Dovahkiin! No!" before dying and getting his soul reaped.
that's actually a bit of broken code. There is actually voice for that, the game just doesn't play it for some stupid reason, unless you get a modder's patch.

Merilar has a note on her body about chanting and unnatural growling. The chanting is from the word wall and the growling is from a black book. Hearing the chanting is a sign that she is a possible Dragon Born just like the player.
Tomb Keeper13 potentially, but my theory is that since the black book is relatively close to the word wall, the wall can perhaps sense Miraak's presence in apocrypha through the black book and thus chants. After all, no one said that followers and bystanders couldn't hear or witness the wall while the Dragonborn player approached it.
I can’t remember where else in the game, but I know at least one other NPC can hear the word walls that isn’t capable of shouting. Besides, only the gods create the Dragonborn, you can’t just become one by random chance.
nah, there's a redguard dude in Solitude who also mentions that nordic dungeons have 'talking walls' (referring to the wordcwalls), so unless he's dragonborn too i guess everyone can hear the word wall but only a dragonborn can read it and gain the word
I loved solstheim in Skyrim (sadly I never played morrowind) but despite having missed the opportunity for a nostalgic boost to the experience of this dlc, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere and quests and characters and locations, items and upgrades and incentives to keep playing, make it one of the best dlcs of any game. Dark souls 1-3 had some good dlcs too, and Witcher 3. And so far I’m doing nuka world and far harbor so I’ll see how those stack up once I’m done. But yeah- this was a great dlc.

In his possession was a paper called Diary of a Madman where he talks about ripping pages from the Black Book.

Makhail Oliver You're right about everything except that being their name...it's their title that they're born with and Dragonborn is just the translation of it from the dragon tongue 'Dovahkiin'. Miraak is also Dovahkiin but his name is Miraak.
Why did you spare his wife if you kill Nazeem it is only polite to kill the wife. Similar to the Dark Brotherhood quest where you crash the wedding it's only proper to kill the bride and groom and their families there.
Vingalmo, one of the higher-ranking vampires in Castle Volkihar, is mentioned in the in-game book 'Night of Tears'. Apparently, before he became a vampire, he was a scholar of history who wrote about ancient elves.
The Caring Support You realize I don't care where it's from (even though I know, smartass) Solsthiem is part of Morrowind and Morrowind music would sound nice, right?
I am feeling like an idiot right now. Played Skyrim for like 50 times(I know, it's rookie numbers, hardcore ES players may have played like for 500 times) and still didn't find these things. Damn it, need to install SSE once again.
I'm honestly so psyched to find a blog (or in this case, a RUclips channel) that has actually updated recently! Everything else I find is from like... Years ago... so yay! Lol
2:44 this place in general makes Skyrim feel creepy and like a horror game. The soundtrack is so eerie too. Just everything about the map is creepy and off.
Not Related to the Dragonborn DLC But in the Dawnguard if you choose to become a Vampire Lord That means Dovahkiin The Master of the Thu'um, The Savior of The World, Would have submitted to the lust of power by becoming an Invincible blood-thirsty (Literately) Monster.
You have to remember how powerful the mage she's working for is, she could be a powerful sorcerer but what she could learn from someone who deservingly thinks Savos magic comprehension is child play is probably worth playing assistant....
There are quite a few player home mods that feature an imbuing chamber. In your home. Where your spouse and children could be living. And the machine will most likely be in your poorly-ventilated cellar.
I'd like to think the Horker Island happened like D-Day with all those boats coming to shore at once and being slaughtered in a massive single battle that they lose
5:00 Actually Bethesda has done this before. For example you can find an npc called Sergius Turrianus in both Skyrim and Oblivion. In Skyrim he's the College of Winterhold's enchanter, and in Oblivion a blacksmith added by the Battlehorn Castle DLC. As far as I'm aware, they have absolutely no relation to eachother.
Here's a spooky theory for you: (spoilers ahead for the one person left on earth who hasn't completed the main quest in Skyrim) At the start of the main quest line in Skyrim, the prisoner, soon to be revealed as the dragonborn, will encounter no dragons between being attacked by Alduin at Helgen, and the appearance of Mirmulnir at the western watchtower. Additionally, exactly one dragon burial mound will become empty during the quest into Bleak Falls Barrow to retrieve the Dragonstone. No matter how long the dragonborn waits before handing over the Dragonstone, no other dragons will ever be seen (thus saving the denizens of Skyrim from their pesky attacks). Does this mean that Mirmulnir was the dragon buried in that one particular mound in Autumnshade Woods? The blades record that Mirmulnir was, at the very least, not killed by them, but that he also hadn't been seen since 2E212, so it's possible that he was murdered to death some other way, or was simply not identified upon his death, given that dragons don't exactly carry any ID cards. Given that no other dragons are seen until after you dispatch Mirmulnir, it seems most likely that it was him that was taking a dirt nap there. But then, who or what revived him at this particular time? If Alduin was resurrecting dragons, he wouldn't have been sitting around twiddling his draconic thumbs hoping that Mirmulnir would take care of things. Something must have been holding him back from raising his dragon army. I think it's most likely that the renowned dragon lover Farengar Secret-Fire either resurrected Mirmulnir on his own, inadvertently revealing to Alduin how to do so, or that Farengar made a deal with Alduin that empowered the world eater to resurrect the dragons by himself, with Farengar hoping that having live dragons around would give him an opportunity to possibly trap and study one (which eventually comes to pass, sort of, when Odahviing is trapped at Dragonsreach). Also, since it's only after Dragon Rising, when the dragonborn hands over the Dragonstone to Farengar, that the rest of the dragons start appearing in Skyrim, it kind of points to Farengar passing on the knowledge from the Dragonstone to Alduin, telling him where to find the other buried dragons.
The main quest line already sort of covered why he isn't resurrecting them all at once: he's spending most of his time hiding out in Sovngarde getting his strength back. And surely a random court wizard wouldn't know how to resurrect a dragon, but perhaps one who seems to be unusually obsessed with the subject of dragons might uncover a few secrets.
Kraggerino Kripperino He never said the wizard could revive the dragons, he said that the Dragons one maybe had that knowledge and that farengar showed it to Alduin (or as he said the Dragonstone showed the tomb of the dragons). + Alduin doesn't want to destroy the world... You know nothing about Skyrim lore. His destiny is to end the kalpa but he didn't so it, because he wanted to control the world. This is why he can be defeated...
Your theory on White Ridge Sanctum is quite sound, but I disbelieve the sister went mad from the fumes of the machine and the word wall alone since the brother seemed quite sane in his journal and he could hear the whispers as well. You forgot to mention that there is a Black Book in the same chamber as the word wall. If we think back to doing the early Dragonborn quests through Neloth, he mentions how interacting with the Black Books can drive one into madness. Even Storn, former shaman of the Skaal, speaks about “Ol’ Herma-Mora” constantly tempting mortals with promises of forbidden and forgotten knowledge. After felling Merilar and reading her journal, she mentions the whispers and how she’s convinced they’re of something with power that she’s more than interested in harnessing. You may be entirely right on your theory as is, however, I believe the Black Book may have very well played a pivotal role in Merilar’s insanity as well.
With the Beyond Skyrim Burma & Moonpath to Elsweyr mods, I have more to explore too. Xbox running out of space, may have to upgrade to PC once Beyond Skyrim is finished (imagine it’ll cancel out moonpath).
As someone who has severe arachnophobia regarding spiders in real life, I still consider the spider scrolls to be one of the most enjoyable weapons in Skyrim. Just something enjoyable about controlling a small army of spiders or using them as essentially grenades......
Hi Nate! I recently started a new playthrough & haven't been back to Solstheim yet, so this will come in handy. I love the Horker Island 1 as well, & I don't think I ever really went through it last time. I dig the arachnid one, too. I really thought you would say the 1 sibling murdered the other to death & found myself starting to say it, intending to chime in with you...but then you just said "killed" & I stuttered. :D Also, I pronounce Verona as Ver-o-na instead of Ver-ah-na, as you said it. So, my 1st reaction in finding she was also a recurring character was to hear a really loud "My, my, my, MY Verona!" to the tune of "My Sherona," in my head. I definitely remembered Neloth, as my heart lies with my 1st Elder Scrolls game, Morrowind. I joined the Telvanni (& House Hlaalu, thru a glitch exploitation that allowed both) & I remember Neloth being a d--k, even then. :D I think I had to steal something from him at some point, & he was tough to fight, if he noticed, as it was in a small room, with him always inside of it. I managed it, though, without killing him. But, I think you COULD kill him. If any players did, they will have to invent an excuse for him living & being in this game. He IS a wizard, though, & deals with dead & reanimation, as evidenced in this quest in Skyrim, so an explanation can be easily inferred. Keep 'em comin' Nate.
I have not played skyrim but I've been watching your videos and they are very helpful and so I will be able to be really good whenever I get it on my switch
Solstheim is tiny. You can harvest every exterior plant on the island, and mine all the nodes before any of them reset. There is no way it's 1/3rd the size of Skyrim, even on the world/Tamriel maps the island is much smaller. If you go by the Tamriel map Solstheim is 1/7th the size of Skyrim, and Vvardenfell itself is only half the size of Skyrim. Horker Island: It's normal behavior for them. Read the book Horker Attacks, they kill people all the time. It's a flat 20 damage, not 20%. It'd be worthless if it was just 2 extra damage. In terms of percentages it deals an extra 200% of it's base damage versus horkers. Varona/Revus/Neloth: Yeah, and Cyrodiil used to be a jungle. Bethesda has retconned and rewritten many characters and locations. There should be a sub-species of Khajiit for every type of giant cat, and Khajiit that are talking house cats that don't stand upright. Furthermore, Varona says silt strider traders deliver the supplies to Tel Mithryn, and Neloth says he even transplanted several on Solstheim. Revus is full of shit. Imbuing Chamber: They did not create the machine, if you look closely it has a depiction of Hermaeus Mora and likely belonged to Dukaan.

Vingalmo, one of the higher-ranking vampires in Castle Volkihar, is mentioned in the in-game book 'Night of Tears'. Apparently, before he became a vampire, he was a scholar of history who wrote about ancient elves.
It's still a massive ass game and I love that you still dive into it's secrets
Lord Tusk also seems to have the powers of levitation.
4:52 that shadow... OH, NO!!!
By the nine. No!
Man you are even more of a TES V fan than Bethesda themselves and i love it! :D Keep putting these vids on! THanks
Making a handful of each of those flame/flame cloak spider scrolls is a very good idea. They're lots of fun and kinda cute lol.
I found the the horker one and the spider one the best, did not not know any of them tho. Loved this vid!
I was literally just wondering when you'd release your next vid, great timing!
Should have played Morrowind music in the background instead
You realize that this is from the Dragonborn DLC right?
The Caring Support You realize I don't care where it's from (even though I know, smartass) Solsthiem is part of Morrowind and Morrowind music would sound nice, right?
isnt sol
@@togetaro7734 - reeeeally... I had NO clue.
I love how sometimes Nate almost laughs in mid sentence. LOL!
J'zargo thinks he should explore this "Solsthiem". Maybe the dragonborn could take J'zargo sometime?
I am feeling like an idiot right now. Played Skyrim for like 50 times(I know, it's rookie numbers, hardcore ES players may have played like for 500 times) and still didn't find these things.
Damn it, need to install SSE once again.
Me: clicks on video without looking at title
Video:hello guys and as you know skyrim is a big game
Me: oh yea this is Nate's video❤❤
Hi Nate! Great video! These are my favorites
I like the practice arrow appearances in this one after the last "things you didn't know you can do in Skyrim" video xD
My favorite part of the day is the part that I get to watch your vids :)
I'm honestly so psyched to find a blog (or in this case, a RUclips channel) that has actually updated recently! Everything else I find is from like... Years ago... so yay! Lol
Because of your vids I am thinking about playing skyrim again. U know a lot about skyrim. I found some things out a about oblivion
2:44 this place in general makes Skyrim feel creepy and like a horror game. The soundtrack is so eerie too. Just everything about the map is creepy and off.
"More quests than Adam Sandler has movies" okay, why was that so funny to me?
Not Related to the Dragonborn DLC But in the Dawnguard if you choose to become a Vampire Lord
That means Dovahkiin The Master of the Thu'um, The Savior of The World, Would have submitted to the lust of power by becoming an Invincible blood-thirsty (Literately) Monster.
Another great video! Keep up with the good work and can’t wait for the next one!! 👍🏼
“Fully armored half dragon person” classic Nate
Hey Nate, did you know that you can sit on Karstaag's throne after killing him, which gives you a unique sitting animation?
Same with every jarl
Great vids bro keep up the great content 👍
This series has helped me learn more about skyrim thank you this is Amazing
You have to remember how powerful the mage she's working for is, she could be a powerful sorcerer but what she could learn from someone who deservingly thinks Savos magic comprehension is child play is probably worth playing assistant....
The island has many beautiful places to experience. Although, to be fair, though rare, you might want to prepare for the warebears there.
MIRAAK THE RAINBOW WARRIOR
Love the skin on that Horker mace
Anyone know what mod that is
Joshua Ludlow most likely, 'unique uniques'.
Never new anything about this have to replay this game now. Thanks Nate
Just woke up and Nate our lord gives us a new video
Thanks for doing what you do, Nate.
Here's a spooky theory for you: (spoilers ahead for the one person left on earth who hasn't completed the main quest in Skyrim)
At the start of the main quest line in Skyrim, the prisoner, soon to be revealed as the dragonborn, will encounter no dragons between being attacked by Alduin at Helgen, and the appearance of Mirmulnir at the western watchtower.
Nicoya
Yeah nah
The main quest line already sort of covered why he isn't resurrecting them all at once: he's spending most of his time hiding out in Sovngarde getting his strength back. And surely a random court wizard wouldn't know how to resurrect a dragon, but perhaps one who seems to be unusually obsessed with the subject of dragons might uncover a few secrets.
Who would read that lol
Nicoya
A court wizard can't just resurrect a dragon, even other dragons can't do that.
Only Alduin
Just when I think I know everything in Skyrim.... you just prove me wrong Nate!
"More quest than Adam Sandler has movies" loved that hahaha!
My theory about Varona: Hereditary name. The one from Elder Scrolls III, is V's Mother or possibly Grandmother.
Could be the little sister of the one in 3
To me the biggest mystery of Solstheim is: which end is the face of a Netch and which end is his rear???
4:52
That shadow gave me TES3 PTSD!
Its an understatement to say that I am in love with skyrim
Verona’s problem? Probably resetting all of their mage talents with the legendary system and forgetting to retrain those skills.
2:07 “He’ll be floating proudly”
I love your vids man have a like and keep it up I love skyrim ❤️❤️❤️
At 2:05, the horrible truth is made all too apparant.....
THE RISE OF THE HOVER HORKERS HAS BEGUN.
The last one was the most interesting. I thought only the Dragonborn could hear those word walls.
Gamer3427
I don't have arachniphobia, but I find them more creepy than the giant spiders. XD
There’s the oil spider and a flame spell combo according to Camelworks, which can explode, and be powerful enough to take down a dragon.
Yay a new video!!
Thanks Nate, keep it going. ;)
Anyone else notice how the horker at 2:11 seems to be using Levitation magic, which was banned in the end of the 3rd era? Spooky...
