Were the bits of Shadow Over Germania intentional? I always associated the song with a unified Russia, just before the 2wrw, with this being more associated with it's opening stages
Unironically this song is like one of the best osts in Hearts of Iron 4 and modded too, on top of that the Doomsday clock is just really well used, I also really liked the 1:50 moment
I like how with Operation: Deep Freeze this song's title has two meanings. Either it's in reference to the fact that an ICBM traviling from the US to Europe or visa versa would go over the North Pole, or it's in reference to the OFN's missile testing in Antarctica and plan to place ICBM silos there.
My favourite thing about it is the clock in the background. The doomsday clock. Because it is about a missile and as I’ve understood nuclear one, there’s also a strong feeling of being a worker in some sort of strategic centre where you acknowledge that the missile was launched, the sounds similar to the sounds of some old phones, telegraphs and old computers. This is very well done
I say, many of the TNO tracks feel so dynamic that they would fit a RTS game more than a grand strategy game (where, at least in the mod, not much war happens or is supposed to happen, unless you're a Russian warlord state).
@@sizzis2045 Unless you're playing Goering submod... I like his type of economy -- "let's just conquer the whole world so our shitty system won't fall apart!". Anyways having 160 divs with 40 width and all mechanized and 600k men in airforce and you just annihilate any enemy
When i played tno recently i was listening to this like non-stop. But then i thought, why the fuck the atmosphere of the game telling us about 1962 is so futuristic and cyberpynk like lmao
Back then we were able to put a man on the moon, we had computers but yeah i think the futuristic style of the game would more suit the 80s at the earliest
@@thescrout9831 Could just be a result of the times. A lot of the media and things people are nostalgic about took place during the last decade of the cold war, so for those making something inspired by that period, they may refer more to the parts they remember. I think the more bleak nature of TNO also suits more of the 80s gritty films and media. So while historically, it doesn't align, aesthetically it work, and perhaps you could even argue that a more bleak future would drastically change the media in it, plus electronic music technically originated from the 50s in our timeline. change a few knobs on history and it can work
Because the timeline is further avanced than OTT the moonlanding happens in 1962 but in OTT it's 1969, the internet and computing also get progressed earlier
@@sumguyontheinternet8873 space exploration was more about political will. Reich was DETERMINED to mass produce missiles for strike towards US - they needed ICBM much stronger, than USSR. And space missions are just derivatives from ICBM
I like the vibe. Icy surroundings, aurora borealis (australis?), the exhaust and glare of the missile(s) coming over the horizon to get from the bottom of one hemisphere to the top of another while dodging radar and interceptors and the rush to the satcom to tell NORAD.
This is the one I had the most fun making.
It sounds bloody amazing too!
You make the best Ngl 😊

Always gonna love when the new track comes out for TNO
This one is straight from CC Red Alert games.
We need more Klepacki inspired tracks.
