Take those seats out and lower price by $4000. Then it would be worth it.
I agree they should be an option which I bet they will be eventually. The 4 runner doesn't even have them as they probably figured out it was a dumb idea lol
By $4 Grand. That’s still over 60 G’s and that’s before taxes and fees. So with your 4 Grand off you’re still paying over $63,000 Skooter . You need to take about $20,000 off.
Just get the TRD Offroad Premium Hybrid then you’re are good to go
@@braalo07 I will be going 4runner myself
@@christrarback9748 nice, I’m headed Land Cruiser Prado direction, say in a year or two when bugs have been cleared
The reason why the seats feel firm, is because you are supposed to adjust them based on your weight...there is a guide that comes with the truck. Pretty awesome.
Hey man nice review! Nice to see someone drive this powertrain on roads i'm familiar with!
Great info about the Tacoma TRD Pro. 🤔😎👊
Liked the part about fitting in the garage. With my 2024 TRD Sport, I have 3 inches to the front wall, and two inches to the door when closed.
I have the same issue on my 24 TRD Off Road and my Pixel 8 Pro. It's very inconsistent. A viewer on my channel gave me the tip of long pressing the power/volume knob to reset the infotainment and that generally does work if inconvenient. Nice first impressions.
Couple of things that may effect connectivity with AA. Do you have developer option turned on or are you using A VPN. Both seem to slow the phone down and make connectivity worse. Things just seem to timeout.
They can adjust the prices if they don't sell, below MSRP is something we haven't seen in a few years but it used to be normal. I believe it is a way of preparing for shortages and prices increases..
Currently watching with my 2023 Toyota Tacoma trd pro I paid for $52,800 brand new respectively in 9/2021 and have currently 2,250 miles on it. I get about 20-22 mpg and yes she’s a road princess. I’m keeping this for 20 years
I dont get American car nomenclature. How can your car you bought in 2021 be a 2023 model? Is it from the ffuture?
Bro how do you have early access with that beauty?
hola amigo, cuanto tiempo esperaste por la tacoma trd pro? gracias!
Where did get it from I’ve been looking for one in Texas I couldn’t find any?
@Daily Motor how was the turbo boost on the freeway? I've heard the turbo on the freeway is always in mid to high boost around 60-70mph which could ware of the turbo after a while.
@6:17 you can see him change the display on the gauge cluster. In the middle of the speedometer on the right side you can see the boost gauge. While cruising at 70mph you can see the gauge is showing 0 until he goes to pass that truck then it ramps up. I own a 24 TRD Offroad (non-hybrid) and can confirm my truck behaves the same way i.e. little to no boost when cruising on freeway until it's needed like hills and accelerating.
Most important question, is your dad getting one? Also, 65k Is a lot of money but I have no doubt Toyota will sell every one of these they can build along with the Trail Hunter.
They will fly off the shelves in Hawaii, even at those prices! Dealers will have no problem selling them here. Tacoma is king in Hawaii!
Even with the smaller engine?? I’m moving on to the Honda Ridgeline.
@@trl1980 yes, even with the smaller engine!
How did you land one of these already? Wild
I don’t doubt that Toyota *thinks* they can sell the Tacomas at an up charge. But thinking and doing are two different things. ‘24 Tacomas are piling up on dealer lots right now. SR5s are already having discounts applied to them and even OR and Sports are staying on the lot longer than usual. When is the last time you can recall that a newly redesigned Tacoma sat on the lot and had dealers applying discounts immediately? The fact is, this gen of Tacomas are over priced for the value they bring. Thinking you can charge the consumer more does not always mean the consumer will go with it.
They're selling like hot cakes here in Canada
@@ShayanGivehchianThey’re sitting on the lot here in Tucson, and this is a town where you’ll see at least five Tacomas every two miles you drive. I’m glad people are rejecting these higher prices. We all need to take a stand.
They’ll sell like hot cakes in Hawaii!!
Instantly sold in Los Angeles.
@@alchemistx1wrong. go to Long Beach, manhattan beach, cerritos…they have a lot of this trucks
Are the upper door panels soft or hard plastic?
People sure like to complain! I dig it. Of course a brand new vehicle at the top of the offered trims is going to be expensive. A brand new vehicle is a luxury. I think Toyota did a great job on the new tacoma
I love my 2023 TRD sport, but the transmission is trash. Gonna have to get it tuned.
SAD they reduce the size of the gas tank in the 2024’s
2024 is 18.2 gal vs 3rd gen is 21.1 -almost 2.9
gallons more…
Off roading many of us prefer a larger gas tank!
We need the sr model with the pro off road goodies minus the seats and the hybrid.
How did you get this truck so early?
Pretty sure there’s no air vents in the rear ?
Nice Camry!!!
I need some advice. I have a TRD PRO pre ordered. I am supposed to get it in a few weeks but am freaking out about not having enough room in the back seats… I’m 6’2” is anyone going to be able to sit behind me. I don’t mind having to move up a bit but even with moving up is there enough usable room in the back seat? What would you do? Would the iso seats be a deal breaker for you? I don’t plan on having it be a ppl hauler but I will have 4 occupants on occasion and want them to be comfortable if the front seats are moved up. I’m so conflicted. Would you pass on this trd pro because of the seats?
At your size, yes I would pass because of the space/seats. We're both 5'10" and it was too close for comfort.
Could you get away with a TRD Off-road? I suspect Toyota will make the iso seats optional on TRD Pro next year.
I kinda need a car asap. I like everything on the PRO just dont want the seats. I am pondering if maybe I can take them out and replace them in a few years.
So youre saying it was not a usable amount of space for your two occupants? Like it was a miserable experience for your dad in the front and banged knees in the back? This is heartbreaking news to hear as I have a PRO reserved for me delivering to the dealer next week at MSRP. Still very conflicted and dont know what to do....
@@pdornfel I don't want to be dramatic, but I also want you to be happy with your purchase. I don't think miserable is the right word. I just know if I had to put adults in the back more than a few times a month for more than 30 mins at a time, I would feel disappointed. But I agree, the seats might be able to be swapped out.
@dailymotor ya i think you are probably right about the seats that they will be an option next year - probably with no change in the MSRP too. So maybe I can sell them and swap them at some point - im thinking it could / should be pretty easy to do. well said about the seats. Yeaaa i think i will be mildly dissatisfied once a month but overall net satisfaction will be high. Thanks! Still as torn as I was before but in a somewhat better place.
I make just over 145k a year and I would not buy this Tacoma generation with those insane prices. I still drive my 2 gen with no issues and I'm fine with that. The design of the truck to a smaller engine is going to cause major problems in the long run if they don't fix it, that's coming from an auto engineer.
No HUD for the TRD Pro?
Thank you for sharing. For me, I will need a new car 3-4 years from now. Plenty of time for the 4th gen to prove itself. Price is whatever at this point. Everything is expensive.
Nearly 20k more that the previous Gen?!
Toyota Tacoma doesn’t have rear air conditioning vents!!! But also great video!!!
Redline with Ridgeline!
What setting were your qs3 shocks in?
Cool cost $$$$
The passenger space sucks..they need to extend the cabin couple more inches!
Dual pane glass in a mid size truck is wild
The Frontier has had it since the redesign in '22
The Frontier has had it since the redesign in '22
Tacoma TRD Pro $57k
4Runner TRD Pro $59k
Tundra TRD Pro $65k
Sequoia TRD Pro $69-$71k
This is where prices should be topping out imo. Especially the SUVs now that they are essentially identical to their truck counterparts.
Did you get a chance to do 0-60 in sports mode ?
6.8
@@layne4376 is that pretty decent for a truck?
@@marioa2753 It is not bad. It has a lot of torque which is what you want off road.
@@layne4376 thanks for the explanation!!
@@marioa2753slower than the full size tundra
20k price increase is ridiculous and you know that. But it is what is and those that want to buy the Tacoma will have to make that decision on their own, if it works for them.
1. Did you enable sport mode and 4x4 high to test the drag race part ? If not why not ? That's how you get the trd pros max speeds and performance.
2. Why didn't you pull over before hitting the offroad part and put the quick switch 3 fox shocks to soft ? Would take like 2 minutes and make the ride better and it's literally a main feature your supposed to be testing. Driving a trd pro like a trd offroad and complaining about the ride is odd.
3. Did you adjust the iso dynamic seats to your weight ? Were they even switched on ?
At that price I’d just get a Tundra.
Expensive but a really sharp looking truck. Can’t afford it, get a TRD Off road.
For 60k I expect more room in the back
Nice XR150L.
Review on that coming soon, love the little thing
@@DailyMotorhell yeah!! I love mine too.
MPG
0:33 that tailgate gap looks a little too big.🙄😬
Toyota doesn't know how families struggle about money
Or don't care
I agree that this particular truck and trim level is "luxury priced" aka overpriced
Your dad was uncomfortable….not a very good poker face
No room on back for passangets
No leg room in back wtf
Make signal when changing lanes.
The seats are a gimmick. Get rid of them and we’ll talk.
Your mom looks so cramped
What is that screen lol. Awful design. When will this big screen in cars era end??
Not for the foreseeable future at least.
You can get em with small screens🥴
I kinda agree with you. My 2024 SR5 4x4 has a smaller screen, I wouldn’t like the larger one
Yea low key might go with smaller screen
Oof. All kinds of dumb for buying a 70k 4 cyl truck. And if you financed? Make that 100k+
Not worth $65,000!
Overpriced stupid to buy it
Very nice truck, BUT the price is crazy!!! What the hell Toyota? Really a 20K jump here in Canada over 2023! STUPID! Not worth it , goodbye! What did we gain from hybrid? gas mileage? No, maybe some power but a 4 pot banger! I guess its back to Ford for Ranger Raptor! Toyota knows shit, we the buyers of three or more Tacoma's know! Way over priced for what you get from competition!
Front differential broke on a little hill, cheap metal.
It was a supplied part, not the differential. Im sure the fix has been carried out already.
