  • The Britten V1000 is a handbuilt race motorcycle designed and built by John Britten and a group of friends in Christchurch, New Zealand during the early 1990s. The bike went on to win the Battle of the Twins in Daytona International Speedway's Daytona Bike Week festivities in the United States and set several world speed records.
A total of 10 Britten V1000s were produced by the Britten Motorcycle Company and now exist in collections and museums around the world.

I saw these bikes racing at Manfeild and the Wanganui cemetery circuit as a kid. Loved how it ripped past the other bikes on the straights. Unforgettable sound

Same here, I grew up going to the Hacksaw circuit and a Britten would break cover there from time to time. God the sound bouncing off the buildings down the main drag was just music in motion

I really like this bike's design, I've grown to love it even more when I learned about the history of the development of this motorcycle brand. It's a great pity that the founder passed away without anyone continuing its development. Otherwise, today we might still see this motorcycle model cruising on the streets, and there would be new models competing with the well-known motorcycle brands in the world.

      John Britten?
How amazing his bike may be, it’s a far shot from a MotoGP bike.

@@kasperkjrsgaard1447 ROFL. You obviously know your stuff... At the time of it's creation, it blew everything else away, including the big Ducatis. Even today (2024), decades later, there are still VERY few litre V-twins that will give you Britten's 160HP on the crank.
