- The Britten V1000 is a handbuilt race motorcycle designed and built by John Britten and a group of friends in Christchurch, New Zealand during the early 1990s. The bike went on to win the Battle of the Twins in Daytona International Speedway's Daytona Bike Week festivities in the United States and set several world speed records.
A total of 10 Britten V1000s were produced by the Britten Motorcycle Company and now exist in collections and museums around the world.
Only the most beautiful motorcycle ever made
To me... The most desirable bike on the planet.
A unique and magnificent piece of mechanical ART
Times have changed, however I humbly acknowledge the brilliance of Kiwi John Britten & his innovative creation.
God bless him 🙏
Still so amazing! RIP John.
Awesome footage, and sound! 👌👍
Many thanks!
I saw these bikes racing at Manfeild and the Wanganui cemetery circuit as a kid. Loved how it ripped past the other bikes on the straights. Unforgettable sound
Same here, I grew up going to the Hacksaw circuit and a Britten would break cover there from time to time. God the sound bouncing off the buildings down the main drag was just music in motion
Best bike ever made 👍
Why are they not still being made then?
@@BN1960 As they were handbuilt and the owner/designer died.
I was on the Triumph. Pleasure to ride so close to it.
Triumph sounds amazing
You were proper flying on that triumph
Triumph annoying bug behind the kiwi V
un miracolo di ingegneria realizzata per di più in maniera semi artigianale in casa...assurdo! grazie a john britten volato in cielo troppo presto...impaziente ed ecclettico per il mondo terreno!
John was a genius, rip mate.
Be a dream to ride that bike
It's wild how much it sounds like the current motogp bikes at idle.
I really like this bike's design, I've grown to love it even more when I learned about the history of the development of this motorcycle brand. It's a great pity that the founder passed away without anyone continuing its development. Otherwise, today we might still see this motorcycle model cruising on the streets, and there would be new models competing with the well-known motorcycle brands in the world.
G.O.A.T 🙌
Guy built 2023 MotoGP bike while the MotoGP was still running 2-strokes.
👍👍
John Britten?
How amazing his bike may be, it’s a far shot from a MotoGP bike.
@@kasperkjrsgaard1447 ROFL. You obviously know your stuff... At the time of it's creation, it blew everything else away, including the big Ducatis. Even today (2024), decades later, there are still VERY few litre V-twins that will give you Britten's 160HP on the crank.
🇳🇿yeah boi. Up th South.🤘
Proud KIWI
❤
For a moment this bike looked like Elvis Presley 😃😃😃
HE WOULD HAVE SOLD PLENTY IF ONLY
How many are left ?
Thought it like 2 ?
10
I wonder if anyone will ever write a song about this bike in the same way that Richard Thompson did for another legendary bike of the past ruclips.net/video/MOCZwKmjR6E/видео.html
