I remember listening to a few lines of this song in my childhood days, on the radio. I barely could catch the lyrics back then. I looked for this song so much, but to no avail. And here I came across this today, after about 16 years. The tune was so fresh in my mind that it kept playing for almost about 2 decades. The lyrics couldn't have been any better. What a relief to have finally found it.
This is possibly Shania's best song. You will however, never hear it given any airplay. Shortly after it was released, her Nashville aligned record label banned it from being played because they said it went against her 'image'. They wanted to promote her as a country/pop act and this brilliant song isn't what they wanted. They even threatened to sue Shania for breach of contract if she performed it live as she had released the song via a music publisher's own record label without their permission. The trouble with record labels is, they know nothing about music.

I remember listening to a few lines of this song in my childhood days, on the radio. I barely could catch the lyrics back then. I looked for this song so much, but to no avail. And here I came across this today, after about 16 years. The tune was so fresh in my mind that it kept playing for almost about 2 decades. The lyrics couldn't have been any better. What a relief to have finally found it.

This is possibly Shania's best song. You will however, never hear it given any airplay. Shortly after it was released, her Nashville aligned record label banned it from being played because they said it went against her 'image'. They wanted to promote her as a country/pop act and this brilliant song isn't what they wanted. They even threatened to sue Shania for breach of contract if she performed it live as she had released the song via a music publisher's own record label without their permission.
The trouble with record labels is, they know nothing about music.
She sang it for the live in Chicago dvd and in her new tour she plays interludes of ka Ching so I don't think that's true

Then someone else, without doing an ounce of research, turns up with 'I don't think that's true 'cos I saw her do bits of this song live'. The clue is in the 'bits'. And for all I know, she might have changed record companies since, or renegotiated her contract. But whatever, you will never, ever, ever, ever, hear this song played on any radio station. Is that clear? Do you understand? Jolly good!
