Wow what an airplane. Nice flying John. Can't wait to try out the Hobbyeagle Super 4. With the wind we deal with here in Kansas, that will help a lot. Keep up the good work. Nice camera work Freddie!
Great video.. I actually viewed this video as a tutorial on the Hobbyeagle A3. I wanted a gyro for my SW Edge 540 48" and this seems to fit the bill.. Thanks for producing all this great content, I've learned a great deal from your videos.. - Will
Looks like a fabulous plane... and great flying, first live prop hang on a maiden... courageous stuff! I'm struggling to get my head around the gain control on the Hobbyeagle. The way I undertstand it is that if you set a curve which limits the master gain control from the Tx (to approx 35% in your case) then this means you are only utilising up to 35% of the 60% gain set in the configurator, so 21% max? Do you think a flight controller eg SpeedyBee F405 WING-MINI APP would also be a good option to pair with the ELRS receiver instead of the A3/PWM board? I haven't really got my head around how stabilization gain is adjusted in a flightcontroller/iNav, or even if it can be. Maybe they take over just too much.
Kinda of depends on your use case and you gotta watch out for current draw. I usually only use gyros for wind rejection purposes, not for attitude lock or any of their other modes. It usually takes more wind perturbance to have an effect on larger planes. So they are less helpful the way I use them on larger planes. Larger planes--depending on how you fly--also use bigger servos which can draw a heavier sustained current. I don't know what the Hobby Eagle specs are for sustained current on the output pins. So this is just something to be aware of. For sport flying, I really don't think it would be a problem. For XA you might want to do some homework. On the current issue, be advised: The gyro only "needs" to see the signal wire from a servo. You could power them from another source. This is a good question with probably more of an answer than you bargained for.
Did the Super 4 come with the remote LED module that the Super 3 has? There is no mention of it (or is it pictured) on HobbyEagle's website. Your affiliate link on Amazon says it DOES come with one. Can you clarify this? Thanks!
@@RCVideoReviews It's the gyro's status LED (and USB interface) on a little board that can be placed outside the fuselage for easy access to the USB programming port and (external) viewing of the gyro's status. It comes with the Super 3. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
They're really two different kinds of planes. I will always have a fondness for the Millennium Master, but it's not longer available, so I have to move on to a different daily driver. The Laser and GB1 currently fill that role.
Based on your review (amongst others), I have just taken delivery of this plane . I would like to benefit from your expertise regarding your electronic setup. The description here was a bit too cryptic for me to really understand and I can not find the referenced Discord site. Can you provide me with some guidance? Thank you and Happy New Year!
@@RCVideoReviews No, quite the opposite. I think the prices that foamies are brining right now is a bit ridiculous. If I have to choose between balsa or foam for nearly the same money, I'm picking balsa every time. Sorry if i wasn't clearer in the beginning.
Beatiful job John that thrust to weight ratio is sure in that Lazers favour no lack of power there great flight and maiden
take care
That is my first xpwr22 and I thought it was a good option for the plane for sure. Had all the power it needed to do what I asked.
NICE! I just ordered this plane after a bec failure did my 61” sw edge 540 in on maiden
Yay! And Oh no!

The Super4 performed well. I'll fiddle continue to fiddle with it.
That was some great flying
Thanks :)
Good maiden and info!

That makes me happy to hear. Thanks for the comment.
Sweet plane man do them hovers look kool !!! 👍🏻
Thanks for filming for me. Those hovers were cool.
Lol ya I know what you mean love the way the EF laser airframe flies I fly the V2 60 but it’s still one of the best flying airframes out there.
It left me impressed....
Best flight I have seen on your channel. It is not all the plane.
Appreciate that. Thanks.
Hey nice flying, good video, beautiful airplane, my favorite colors 👍
Thanks Dave. Looking forward to seeing you at the field soon.

Hi and thank you for your always great content.
Is it possible to have Telemetry from an Spektrum Smart ESC with ELRS?
Kind regards
Roland
I'm sorry but I don't know the first thing about Spektrum configurations.
Hey, would you recommend the Hobby4 gyro for a EF74 inch wing plane?

Sorry for this question, but are you using the RM MKII with the internal ELRS module or du you use an external one? Thx 👍😬
I have an external Happy Model 2.4pro.
@@RCVideoReviews great, thx! 👍
Would you advise against running a RimFire 32 in this model? I just happen to have one new in box and a 100 amp Castle RC ESC.
Yes. I would advise against it. It might fly, but it would feel anemic. This plane needs a 16" prop. Rimfire .32 tops at 12" and is spinning too fast.
@@RCVideoReviews Thanks John, appreciate the help!
Rimfire 80 works well with 16x8 prop.

They have two versions and two price points. One with, and one without the programming box. The programming box adds another ~$25
@@RCVideoReviews I'm referring to the remote LED module, not the programming box. Based on your reply, it doesn't sound like it comes with one.
I'm not at all familiar with a remote led module...?

That comes with all of them that use the PC for configuration. It's probably a FTDI adapter.
So the big question, does this replace your old Millennium Master?

Hello 👋.
Hello 👋
For the prices that foam is bringing these days, why not go this route!
Do you have a link for a superbly competent 3D plane with a 60" wingspan for less than $400?
@@RCVideoReviews I sure don't. This is a great bargain, thanks for showcasing it.
@@SomeGuyInSandy I may have misunderstood your initial comment. Seems you were suggesting foam as a preferred option.

Got it. I haven't even shopped foam in a while.

Whoo--surprise contender for the champ.
какой мотор стоит?
99 долларов при покупке вместе с самолетом. $124 при покупке отдельно.
How could you not try auto hover with a new gyro!!!!!!
I don't use gyros to fly LOS planes. Just wind rejection mode.
