Simon said they did the shortened version for the MV because it’s an introduction to the XG universe and they wanted to put together something that was most direct and impactful. My opinion is that that’s probably true but also because they gotta save room in the budget for the actual comeback. 😂

I think of it this way if someone wants to listen to the song they can listen to the music provider Spotify, iTunes, etc. But for the video, many reactors have listened to it 2 or more times in their videos. And Simon their director watches reactors and knows how most of them think. This shorter video has replayability, with it only being 2 mins. That being said, I think he was testing with this video, as it is a pre-release it will be monitored and will affect what they decide to do with future M/Vs possibly in the mini album or later.

It's a guess but I think they made it short to make room for other people to get on their track. Like when Ciara and Jackson Wang got on Left Right it was awesome but that's a lot of people on one track. Idk
the mv is like a director's cut so it's short and sweet, to send the message they want to tell with the highest quality and concise, also may be that's what they can do with their budget...
This MV is too expensive, they still need to leave money for the title track and promotion😂😂😂 I think that this trick worked for many, I immediately ran to listen to the full version and told all my friends about how awesome this video and song is
The short MV is just what many Japanese labels do. AVEX don't run out of the budget and making MV in Korea cost only a half of that in Japan. If they want a full length MV, all they have to do is to stop making each transition so short. They filmed it already they can just make it in to 2 seconds instead of 1.

I went right into the dance practice after the MV and went “EXCUSE MEEEE” clutching my pearls when the rap line came in after the first chorus. I was floored. I guess that’s why they needed chairs in the choreo, for all the people like me who needed support after the whole thing. Lol
