The words share profound determination, endurance and tenacity in spite of what life gives us and that group of young people with wonderful voices felt it and gave us a passionate heartfelt performance, And, Yep Avi's songwriting is exceptional. That’s what this song does to me, too, I often get emotional listening to Avi’s music. It’s like getting a little piece of his soul with every song. Even when a song starts with “dark” lyrics, there is always light and hope in his music. The opening lines of “All Is Well” (“I dove into the dark, I swear I almost drowned ”) hit me hard but a few lines into the song, things were indeed well again. Avi was on tour in Europe this past spring. 7 Layers Sessions contacted him about them recording him singing a couple of his songs. He met them in an ancient church in the Netherlands with acoustics that lends themselves quite well to Avi's voice. Here is that recording session. While the original recording on his latest album was a duet with Joy Williams, he did this as a solo at a church in Utrecht Netherlands during his European tour earlier this year.
