I really don't understand why does one gender have to be portrayed as superior? Some say men are superior for whatever reason and some would say women are better, while bashing men for no reason. Can't we just live as equals, respecting others without seeing the gender?
I don’t think it’s what people say. Look at the history and concrete evolution. Before agricultural age men and woman had equal parts in the nature. But when agricultural age started women were pushed back because men were more physically stronger and kinships, culture, religion, etc. As the society grew, we can still see the reminiscence of that practice for example: polygamy ( 1 man many wives), educational fractions ( male children getting education over female children), Dowry and so on. In modern era anyone ( male, female, non-binary) is subject to discrimination, harassment etc. Although discriminations against woman is prevalent almost everywhere and people are taking this seriously now ( #metoo, more educated females, positive role models). However, discriminations against men is never really addressed because men aren’t really allowed to show emotions, if a man ( or anyone who identifies as a man) shows emotions he is automatically deemed unmanly aka “ be a man”, even after this a man goes a head and tries to defend himself he is either looked down upon or called a “ pussy” then the whole toxic masculinity comes into the play. We as a society have created boxes 📦 where each gender should fall under ( while there is no box for transgenders, non-binary etc because we as a society don’t even count them as human beings they are deemed “ unnatural”.)
