Great to see your models and really super to see that there are those of you out there who are so enthusiastic about models and model building. Its a really satisfying and rewarding hobby.
Hello from Brownsville, Tx. I have the same model from Dumas and still in the box. You sure motivated me to start building this model. I am going to make a father & son project with my 11 year old son. Thank you for sharing your video with us.
I always liked that model. I didn't know that it was an actual yacht. Looks like they sank it for an artificial reef in FL. It's a shame the full size boat is gone and the model is no longer available.
Very nice model, Rob. You have a great start and an excellent plan going forward! The decking and sliding doors are just right. I'll look forward to seeing her finished. Maybe in July?
@@robertschmidtrcmodelboats6483 How is the model coming along, nearly finished I hope?? What are your plans for it after it is completed, will you be selling it? If so, I would be interested in purchasing it. Please let me know. Thank you!
Wow - this looks like a nice project! I stumbled upon your Crockett build from a while back... Which got me interested in picking up one of those - I've always wanted to build one. Or, maybe I can grab a kit out of my stash and start building... Probably a better idea! 😀 Have fun on your Prime Time build!
Robert I have a Primetime kit , without the copmlet instruction papers , can You make a copy of yours I will pay for all time and material...Great Work on You Primetime...Thank You Marc
Bob Kyle was the brain and designer behind Prime Time when he worked at Dumas decades ago. He subsequently had a fascinating boat building shop in Cottage Grove, OR, and his website, "Captain's Models" still shows examples of his fabulous builds. He died a few years ago. Bob was a great guy, a good friend, and uniquely talented. This all before computers, CAD, and fabricating nearly anything with cd printing. Why not put model jet engines and a bow thruster in there as originally designed? Fred
Thanks for the info about Bob. Originally I decided to put Graupner jet drives but due to the cost I decided to use the props. I should put a bow thruster and did think about it. I put my first bow thruster in my Dumas Mister Darby tug and it is awesome how well it works. Struggling to find time, no pun intended to finish what I have started so next yacht will have a bow thruster but maybe my thoughts will change before I paint the hull. Thanks for watching.
Yes you are correct. The speed controls were good at the time I got them. For non brushless motors they will work great. I have one in an older single motor boat and it works perfect.
@@robertschmidtrcmodelboats6483 was just wondering Deff was not making fun of it at all was just wondering if it was an older unit or something current that I was not aware off is all. Your builds are great and way more involved than I think I could ever take on.
@@dannyhamby6334 I got the kit 26 years ago and the electronics and have been working on it between other models like the Mister Darby tug and my Donzi. These kits take so long to build especially when you have a full time job and kids lol. But I always get them done at some point.

Thanks for watching and I hope I can inspire others to build. So rewarding.

Great Job Sir. Looks really good.
Looks great Rob! Hope they bring this kit back!

would you sell any one of your built models i like the donzi but cant find anything anywhere!
My models are not for sale right now. The Donzi 0:26 shows up on EBay once in a while so just keep looking. If I see one I will
Let you know.
Large impressive model, and you don't have to build the hull.
Thanks for watching.
What’s up with the electronics? The esc esp. I’m new to boats not rc the esc looks like something from the early mid 80s ?
