I feel like bandai did very well but playmates takes it for me. The articulation is what I like and they have pretty decent articulation. Also this may be due to the fact that I only have the playmates ones lol
I agree with the verdict. The Playmates are just generally better than the MMS this time around, and while the MMS Kong and Godzilla at least look better than their Playmates counterparts, I feel that the Playmates Mecha looks much better than the MMS Mecha in terms of sculpt. The MMS beats the Playmates in paint but it looks weirdly fat and it's claws look terrible in comparison to the Playmates.
Agreed, the 2021 Mechagodzilla is a design that doesn't really lend itself to softer vinyl just because of all the intricate details on him, Playmates was done better
I feel like the battle damaged one Mechagodzilla with Atomic breath looks much better than the Bandai and the Kong looks better also in my opinion the playmates godzilla looks a bit durpy but better in articulation
Yeah definitely would have been nice. But in all reality I don’t expect a gvk kong they would try to make, to be able to be much different from the Kongs they have been releasing lately. And the Godzilla would probably just be a repaint of their 2019 godzillas I doubt any news sculpts would be made so In all honesty I’m not to upset over it. However, if they did try gvk kong or mecha it would have been interesting. Perhaps even warbat or skullcrawler I’d definitely be on board for that.
I actually think that in the future playmates might actually throw bandai out the window and become the go to monsterverse figures for every collector that doesn't want to spend 100's for shma. So in the future I predict that playmates will get more popular and will be as well known as bandai and if you really think about it $10 with an accessory is the best it's gonna get so I think playmates is here to stay and pretty much does not have any competitor
It real ironic Steve that people often find you to be bias against Bandai's product (or Japanese products in general, where they think of this I have no idea) when you state the simple truth. Bandai may have edge on quality, but quality means nothing if the majority of hobbyists or collectors don't have the bucks to spend for it. While I'm not a fan of Playmates (wish NECA still had the license rights) I can see that Playmates did still try to give their attempt articulation and play value while being affordable and cheap. And sure, people will argue that you can't compare the two because the MMS is meant for Vinyl collectors which is a huge market in Japan while Playmates is meant for children's toys here in America, both are design to still be relatively cheap which still makes them fair to compare against.
When does the next Mechagodzilla with beam drop!?!? Thanks to scalpers and terrible restocking at my local Walmarts (there are three in my area and all the Godzilla shelves are barren) I’ve missed out on getting MechaG and Warbat 😫😫😫
Fully agree with you. I have a few of the Playmates, but several Bandi that act as placeholders until the eventual SHMA release. But with that, I also open the MM figures, look at them for a bit, then hate myself for spending $25-40 on one. I do hate NECA lost the rights, but hope in time they can get them back for more Godzilla here in the West. Heck, id be happy with McFarlane too.
I don't want McFarlane anywhere near Godzilla. Have you seen McFarlane's quality control? They're still just as terrible as they were back in 2007. Bad paint aps, questionable molding/sculpting, figures coming with loose joints, mirror joints/parts, and so on. They made the Halo 3 and Reach collection a nightmare because too often I would find a Spartan figure with two right or two left feet or two left or two right upper bicep for the arm.
@@WatcherMovie008 Oh really? To be honest I havn't bought a McFarlane figure since the Halo days. I collected every figure in the line, and while they got bad at the end, they did a pretty good job for the price point with accessories (especially compared to Mattel). Better than Joyride a bit I think, but I still love those figures. I have no idea about their latest figures though. I know NECA really started to improve their Godzilla's there at the end. No they weren't movie accurate, but were good $25 figures. I hope we get a good western manufacture to continue soon.
Having both I have to say MMS is far better looking if you want to display, but they are durable enough for a child to play with. Playmates' Mechagodzilla is very good, and durable, their Kong is also very solid, however their Godzilla is atrocious. Playmates are definitely great for kids though.
Its interesting comparing the monsterverse stuff as even in Canada the playmates are much more worth it and the paint isn't that much worse, vs the regular (I guess) line where it's worth the extra money to get the Bandai vinyls vs the playmates, depending on the figure of course. When it comes to the regular or classic line the paints are not worth it (other than Gigan of course)
i have playmates godzilla with atomic breath (but he broke) and godzilla with the radio tower and kong with fighter jet as of right now... I can only hope for mechagodzilla with the heav in the future
Still prefer Bandai the playmates godzilla is very bad sculpted and its made out of cheap plastic, while mechas legs moves too easy and kong paint is too dark on the face, chest, feet and hands compared to the rest of the body And since in Italy they are not in the stored I bought godzilla with heat ray, kong with battle axe, warbat, skullcrawler and mecha for 45 dollars each online while Bandai costs me 30-35 dollars. I'm giving to playmates these points: articulation and accessories But for me it's a win for Bandai mms
@@StevensToyReviews Oh. But the 13 inches would've tipped the scale further into Playmates hands due to their new features. I just thought you forgot them.
@@godzillatoons3947 oh yeah I mean they're available, but that's not the point of figure fights. 13" figures with a bunch of figures vs small vinyls? Two completely different things. I did review those as well.
If we had Bandai’s sculpt with playmate’s articulation, they would have been great figures
Agreed
I feel like bandai did very well but playmates takes it for me. The articulation is what I like and they have pretty decent articulation. Also this may be due to the fact that I only have the playmates ones lol

While regretfully never got it I would say that the Kong figure with the fighter jet is the best.
You can now find them at target with the new monsterverse line
I gotta go with playmates on this one. But both are cool in their own right
Would've been nice to have neca GvK figures. Imo they are the cheapest options to get figures that are of good quality
They don't have the rights to GvK tho
Yeah definitely would have been nice. But in all reality I don’t expect a gvk kong they would try to make, to be able to be much different from the Kongs they have been releasing lately. @@Blake-vx6pd NECAs Goji suffered because of the concepts, so a more accurate one would be expected, they're not Hasbro
They list the rights to make goji figures, sadly.

Let’s gooo playmates won!
I love your video. I would like to see the SH Monsterarts Godzilla VS Kong (2021) figure fight with Playmates in the future.
I predicting right now before I watch this video, Playmates Is Gonna Win
If want toys, get playmates. If you want figures, get Bandai

Wow, this fight didn't go the way I thought it would!
Stop it stop it he's already dead 😂
playmates are a better value but the sculpt and paint on bandais side wins me over
Playmates are very durable and superstrong for the price
Kong: Playmates
Mechagodzilla: Bandai
*Godzilla: NECA V2*
My personal preference, lol.
Love the Badlands shout out. Respect. And found my new toy channel
I wanted playmates to win and they won they actually won
I think a figure fight that would be cool would be 2014 poster version Vs 2019 burning Godzilla

Better Godzilla figure: Playmates
Better Kong figure: Playmates
Better Mechagodzilla figure: Bandai movie monster series
I like the mms so much more but the playmates are worth getting

Since playmates Godzilla and Bandai’s Godzilla is a different year made and would make sense for a diet figure fight but you win some you loose some
Not really. If you REALLY wanted to get technical, it would be only Kong and MG. Would you want to see that video?

Sucks if playmates doesn't ship in you area or is imditly bought out by scalpels.

I think the playmates kong looks great with the neca godzilla 2019
There also adding this org and 2014 Godzilla and more stuff so ya playmates is the way.
