"Palutena" is one of my favorite kinds of translation mistakes: When a word is clearly not a Japanese word, but the translators can't recognize which word it's supposed to be--in this case "Parthéna" (meaning "virgin" in Greek, probably a reference to Athena whose temple is the "parthenon").
Famicom disk system had better sound capability than the NES. most FDS games had more sounds that could play at once, as well as save features instead of passcodes.
I played through this version once. The final stage plays like a beta release compared to the western port. The rough edges does make it a bit more challenging. Though it still is fairly easy to keep yourself in Medusa's blind spot even with the need of having to tap the A button to fly.
Whenever the reaper freaks out in the NES, it just sounds digitized, but in the disk system version it just sounds like a dying cat…….. I’m not sure why
To my surprise this was not on Famicom Mini but on the NES Classic where it was far less popular. I sure prefer the disk versions so I would have liked it on the Famicom Mini. I do prefer Metroid significantly more however. This game can be very frustrating at times. I did beat it before I ever beat Metroid.
You also get XP (hidden mechanic) that makes you level up and do more damage. I think it's based on score, which is based on killing stuff and gathering hearts.
There are some differences between the two versions. 1. The audio is enhanced since the Disk System has better audio system. 2. The Fds version offer safe files, the US/EU does not, they have a password system. And 3. The final level is the US/EU version is a autoscroller level, which is not the case in the FDS version. Plus, the US/EU version have more possible endings and the end screen looks completely different. These are all the changes I found so far.
The music was much better with the extra sound channels, but those sound effects were definitely rough on the ears. That grim reaper screech - what the hell?
In Zelda 1 I like all the FDS sounds *except* for the boss roars. Maybe the super bitcrushed and muffled ones from the NES are just nostalgic, but I think they actually generally sound better than the FDS version. The item pickup, sword beam, hit and death sounds are all better in FDS imo.

The witch scream is something that is something I don't recall from the NES version. I used to own the cart back in the day.

Kid Icarus sure was a smash hit back then.
Not necessarily in the US.
Not In North America

When I played brawl for the first time, I didn’t know who the hell pit was
Enjoy the enhanced FDS soundtrack!
Mario Movie anybody?
How you love the Famicom
Wait, is Medusa's human form sprite didn't exist in the Japanese version? I don't see her human form showed up in the video.
Yeah, according to TCRF, it was added in for the American version.
@@LorenHelgeson In all honesty, I thought it goes well with Uprising’s continuity.
They released it three days after completing the game.
17:04 what was the purpose of farming that room over and over again? is it just for hearts?

What's the difference beetween this version and the cartridge version launched in America and Europe?

How do you get the sacred arrow?
You get the sacred arrows from one of the 3 bosses you fight before going to the last stage with Medusa.
And as per usual, the FDS version is full of obnoxious "sound effects" that are way too loud and screechy.
