      you probably just made a mistake when recording the audio. could be a microphone issue but it's more than likely something you did while audio balancing to put it only in the left ear

      As much as I hate dbd but I still play it i found one of my best friends who buys me resident evil games that have co-op so we can play other things than dbd

    1. I wholeheartedly agree with you about the lore nerf. We still lack a clear focus on Benedict and Vigo. The Archives are so saturated and poorly executed at times. Feels more about rewards now.
    2. Don't like what they did to Pharmacy. Yes, you can now get multiple green medkits, but you don't get the increased chest speed and reduced noise while healthy, you HAVE to be injured. Also, Calm Spirit's "buff" ruined it. Those silence actions aren't game-breaking by any means.

      I think Benedict's observation is the only time anyone tries to explain Trapper's mask, his perception of Trapper as "smiling miserably" is such a really poignant way of summing up what it represents that it's really saddening to think that BHVR might have deliberately scrubbed it from the canon.

    Flashlights were changed so as to not cause epileptic seizures so as much as I agree they felt better before, I think preventing potential seizures is more important.

      Flashlight clicking gave me such a bad headache when I used to play that I would have to get off after a single game sometimes, I'm glad it's gone

    1:43 I still remember when I was fairly new to dbd and I was playing as a killer and suddenly all ( or 3 of them i can’t remember the details that well💀) were suddenly gone because they opened the hatch with a key and they still had to do 2 or 3 gens I think. I was just standing there being all confused mao😭

    Benedict Baker should return or clarify is the Observer, or a version of the observer who was a survivor once, also leaving Vigo outside the lore is just odd, consider him a huge help for the survivors, they expand the tomes, and it feels they forget about both of them and focus in black vale lore

    The 90 second gens is the best thing that ever happen. Before the "nerf" literally everyone was bringing tool box, prove yourself, built to last and the other bs perks. If you didn't played a top tier or didn't dodge like 10 lobbies before every game it was unplayable..

      Built to last and toolbox is counterproducitve. You can repair a gen for 17 seconds or spend 2 seconds to run, 15 seconds to built to last and get less progress. Toolboxes should be equalized with medkits by productivity as anything but max charges bnp with prove thyself feels effective enough to bring instead of medkit and a boon. No nerfs for latter must be made

    Azy I have to vehemently disagree with you on the gen change. They are still flying because they keep adding gen speed perks for survivors and they immediately nerfed a large sum of gen slow perks after the negligible and useless 10 second addition to gens.

    I think the worst nerf was the hatch key one because I've come across some ridiculous 3 gen situations when we couldn't do the last gen 3v1 and the killers never committed to a chase so the game lasted half an hour until we had to eventually give in and gave him the kill. The hatch key was perfect for this situation and gave survivor a chance to still escape..
    I know paying attention to what gens we're doing in what orders is important as well but you cannot always control it when you play with randoms.

    maybe they should make a change to the key, like maybe you can open a small hole in the exit gate once all gens are done or something, that only one survivor can fit through.

    I really hate how the devs have handled Freddy. I still consider myself a Freddy main but I just don’t want to play him because they can’t seem to make his power strong and fun at the same time

    About the Billy Overheat nerf, it actually gets stranger. See, the Overheat function, okay; DbD got to a point where almost every killer has some form of resource management, and Billy stood out, plus it made it harder for him to infinitely rev in situations like camping, okay. And when 4.1.0 launched, honestly, it wasn’t that bad. Overheating could only really happen if you went out of your way, and while the add-ons were made trash, basekit Billy felt alright.
    …but apparently that wasn’t good enough for BHVR…
    In 4.1.2, they said it didn’t really feel like the Overheat mechanic came into play ever, so they reduced the rate at which heat dissipated.
    To me, THIS will always be the strangest nerf. Like, this mechanic no one really asked for in the first place and complained about the PTB iteration being too oppressive, let’s make it more oppressive again for NO reason. Really kicked Billy while he’s down.

      You're already punished for missing a saw with a cool down
      it's a fair punishment, you missuse your saw you get punished with loss time andyou'renotpunishedforusingyourpowercorrectlylikewtfbhvrthatsliterallywhatyouaredoingyoabsoluemo- sorry
      He was just perfectly fine, he just needed a punishment for his (fairly lackluster) facecamping ability and a tweek to his add-ons to remove toxic stuff like insta saw or maybe crack billy
      And yeah God his addon pass was so fucking bad, like yeah stelf billy is fun and fairly decent and lopro is so nice but other than turning and overheat addons like filter or muffler and his addons were absolute dog shit like oh wow a miniscule bump in speed when a surv- why was that even a consideration, they're way too gimmicky and situational, also why the fuck does carburator *STILL* have a nerf
      One primer bulb isn't going to have all that big of a deal if you're using anything other than engravings
      Why do you hate billy so much bhvr, WHYYYYY

      While the overheat was necessary since most billy players just held the chainsaw up until they could down u, why is bubba still able to do that exact thing that was removed from billy while he can also down multiple ppl

    Regarding the Breakable Walls when they now changed the design of them its actually a huge nerf to Ghostface as he cant stalk through them anymore. Makes maps like Gas Heaven, Eyrie and Cowshed way more frustrating to deal with.

    Nice video as usual! Two things I kind of disagree with on this one though, the flashlight change always struck me as a godsend because people used to use the old flashlight alongside a macro to be VERY annoying, and in reality after getting used to the new aiming/timing of the flashlight it really doesn’t feel too bad to use. The other change I actually thought was really good directionally was the gen speed nerf, ever since the introduction to mmr anyone who is at a high level knows that gen speed is still absolutely insane, and a lot of the current gen regression perks are nowhere near as good as pre nerf ruin and pop, so it’s a real head scratcher. It’s like you said, they wanted to slow down the pace of the game while making killers less reliant on slowdown perks, but at the same time 10 sec reduction when you nuke all the viable slowdown perks from orbit really doesn’t fix anything since gens go just as fast when survivors are being efficient

    A nerf I remember was the Blast Mine Repressed Alliance combo. It used to only apply the blast mine itself allowing you to save Repressed for when the killer kicked the gen, but now they are both applied at the same time, making it not synergize as well

    Keys are items for aura reading, not for opening hatch. Its just something they happen to be able to do

      If you need survivor aura reading then just take bond. Keys are literally only decent because of blood amber, everything else about them is absolutely terrible

      @@irritatingperson7882 But blood amber is incredibly strong. The fact that you can use it at whenever you want is also really useful. Obv you use your item slot, but it also keeps a perk slot free. Then there is still the added benefit of being able to pull of an easier window tech.
      I think being stupidly op shouldnt be the minimum requirement to constitute a good item

      @@S_yIvie Blood amber is by no means op. You cant really replace bond with keys because 1) you have to channel for 1 second before seeing them and 2) has limited use. With blood amber you can get a maximum of 22.5 seconds of aura reading not including perks, and keep in mind that you have to not be occupied to use it. Once you vault, you wont see the killer and need to wait a further second in order to see them again, in which case its possible you've already lost the mindgame. There is a reason that no one uses keys. If BA was op, everyone would be running it, but medkits are tons better, and flashies are a lot more fun for most players. Im not advocating for buffs to BA, its fine. I'm advocating for buffs to keys themselves, because right now your key is only as good as your addon. Dull keys are worse than broken keys, thats not okay.

      @@S_yIvie Medkits 100% need to be toned down, self healing should not be as fast as it is. But I'm arguing that even once medkits are brought to par with the rest of the items, keys are still terrible ESPECIALLY considering their rarity. Running a map with crystal bead gives more value than keys do, and thats really saying something. I personally believe that a locked hatch should spawn as soon as the last gen is completed regardless of survivor count. (Though I think only the one using the key should be able to escape through it)

    The Generator nerf is not a bad nerf, as survivor I barely notice the difference, whilst on killer it allows me to get a lot more pressure with lower tier killers. (without using slowdown perks)

    the flashlight thing though, they made it a 0.4 second timer where it would count even if mistimed, so when you woulda flashed quickly to fix your time, you no longer need to, if you dont make it now you wouldnt have before

    I still feel like gens go to fast. This I believe boils down to me finding a lot of survive with friends groups and having a lot of toolboxes or perks that make gens a slight stop. If anyone wants to comment, I use 1 or 2 slowdowns, I'm pretty alright in chase, and keep pretty decent pressure. But I keep having matches with 3 or 4 hooks and no sacs and I don't even have a high rank or mmr. It doesn't make sense why I struggle so much and I have been playing for 2 years as both sides. Anyways 80 to 90 seconds for gens seems negligible and if you are going to nerf gens you might as well make the gens take 120 seconds.

    Freddy was pretty unique and interesting in the release, and his power fits better for the character... He was weak, yes, but i think weak is better than boring... Freddy players can fall asleep too during the match

    I don't really have a problem with gen speed but I know the reason they didn't wasn't so killers would use less slowdown. Look at all the perks they have released since. It was so they could add more and stronger gen rush perks lol

    I actually didn't mind the billy nerf because he was annoying just spamming chainsaw in certain maps basically being near impossible to complete the last gen (on certain maps)

      @@jadenknott actually I'm a killer main I don't like playing solo que very often and I even when I played billy a lot before the nerf I thought it was kind of unfair how Easley I gen locked on certain maps especially corn maps he was basically blight before blight and blight is annoying for this exact reason plus the over heat isn't that bad makes you think a little before using it

    hej azhy, the flashlight changes were aimed to avoid photosensitive epilepsy in some players. I do understand the gameplay logic you explained and how it feels different but it was made to avoid health problems

    Ok I Main Freddy and he has his strengths, mainly being a massive weapon hitbox, It allows for some insane hits. But I have 2 complaints about the dream snares, 1. Survivors can see them, this gets annoying fast, by the mid way point snares are almost impossible to use if you use them a lot in the early game, this encourages barely using them at all which is what I generally do. 2. The affect it gives, instead of hindered it should give them incapacitated

    The Flashlist changes took places because many people with epilepsy had seisures while playing killer due survivors clicking in their face. It was needed for epileptic players to be able to play killer.

    The gen nerf wasnt really that Strange. Bhvr recognized that by removing perks like corrupt and ruin from the meta, they were removing a valuable plaster fix for the killer’s weakest point in the match - early game.
    They then tried to make up for that huge killer nerf by increasing gen speeds overall.
    The issue is that we have a gen kick meta now which is a lot less chase focused than the corrupt/ruin meta and thus forces survivors to strategically focus gens. It becomes much more of a tug of war within the gen spreads rather than winning through strong early chases cuz corrupt.
    The final product is tedious for survivors, extremely tough on killers weak in mobility and just generally less chase focused. But the idea makes a lot of sense and I wouldn’t call it a “weird” change. Just a misguided balance patch.

    The only killer who got worse since the changed the layout of the breakable walls is Ghostface. A lot of the times with him, i i would have stalked sombody through the little holes in the door, but now you can't do it anymore. F for Ghostie :(

    It feels like in the early days the devs had a vague idea of the route they wanted to take in terms of lore, sprinkling bits of Vigo and the realm outside of the trials throughout the game and completely did a 180 when the archives released. I actually prefer the Benedict Baker flavour text as opposed to most of the archives.

    i think with the gen speed slow down nerf, it's actually made gens go by faster. before when i would play killer, i felt like my games were mostly balanced. I could either get 8 hooks on everyone and maybe they all escape or i could clutch a 3 or 4k by end game or 1-2 gens left. it felt really fair. now i feel that the gen repair progress nerf has forced a lot more prove thyself and a lot more pairing up on gens. I swear i can be in a chase for 20 seconds before a gen pops and then another might pop another 30 seconds later. and it's like that most every match

    They did Freddy and Twins so wrong in this game. I think if the twins bugs can get fixed and charlette got a temporary rage mode when Victor gets kicked. And I feel like they should change up some of his less useful add-ons, and add more to the dream world, like a second timer until survivors are in the dream world so long they get exposed giving incentive to wake up, and adding another fake element into the dream realm too, and similarly to Doc and his insanity, I think Freddy's dream world should invert some skill checks.

    Honestly, Freddy's rework really irritated me. I wasn't able to play DBD around the time they reworked him because I didn't have a way to play, but when I came back I found a killer I mildly liked playing was just useless. I don't think they will rework him because nobody really plays him anymore, but maybe I'm wrong and they will. I hope so because as much as I love Wesker, I liked mildly annoying survivors with Freddy.

    the worst part about the nerf of Deathslinger's terror radius is that it's not even necessary to have if they nerf the ADS as well. If he takes longer to aim on you, you can hear the ringing noise, terror radius or not. I understand that they wanted to prevent people from equipping MnA and get stealth shots, but this isn't necessary anymore as he gives an audio cue when aiming on you. I think that if he kept his old terror radius, that would be more fun for everyone. You could still benefits from a small tr as slinger, and you would still have cues as survivor. Now it's just run once you hear the terror radius, it's not fun.

      @@sam-pletext8352 It wasn't only for those with epilepsy, but also for the overall heath of the game to combat toxic Survivor players. These toxic Survivors made it their SOLE MISSION to be as BM, annoying, and horrible as possible to EVERYONE. Not just toward killers (though they were the main target of these cretians).
      They would refuse to do gens, hook saves, anything to help the team. They would follow the Killer around tea bagging, spam clicking with macro, and that's it. Not only did that annoy the Killer and ruin their game, but also highly lower the chance the Survivors who just wanted to play the game and possibly win, chances of escape. Which ruined the match for a lot of Survivors that weren't pre-mades too. Killers who were smart would grit their teeth and ignore them, most of the time.
      I had more than one of these cretains on my team over and over, and when I called them an idiot for doing it, all I got back was toxic slurs and "I'm having fun, IDC about you. Cry more." They refused to actually play the game, all just to feed their need to be a sadistic asshole. They were nothing more than E-bullies. Is it an awkward change, yes, but was needed.

    I want to give a little more information about the Hillbilly rework.
    1. Hillbilly’s add-ones we’re definitely useful before but are all now literal “add-ons”. They can be useful but situational
    2. Hillbilly’s curve was changed to have better techs and not be able to easily flick kill survivors. This ultimately made Hillbilly hard on console and just in general
    3. Despite being considered the most balanced killer, Hillbilly was still a top 3 killer so the devs felt like he was going to be the easiest to tackle. His nerf was more of a way to force a fall from grace than remove crack billy and Insta saw

    Alright I have to address everything here, but I will say that you are entitled to your own opinions.
    1. Yes, the Freddy addon nerf was weird and odd
    2. Key and hatch nerf I think was necessary, me and my friends would abuse the hatch all the time, getting 4 man escapes almost every game because we got to one gen, went to shack, and popped open the hatch.
    3. I have no experience with Billy so no comment
    4. Lore nerf was extremely unnecessary and I found Benedict Baker to be a lore machine that was hidden in the dark
    5. Every Twins nerf is unnecessary
    6. Flashlight nerf was focused on accessibility, rapidly clicking and flashes agitated photosensitive players, so this was a necessary change
    7. No comment on Death Slinger as I don’t play him enough to know
    8. My guess for why they “nerfed” Plague’s’ ability to infect walls was because it took of some of the game’s coding? That would be my best guess.
    9. 90 second gens were a must for the game. As a killer main gens being done too fast in a match was the biggest reason for me only getting about 1 kill per game. Even with slowdown perks it didn’t matter, so adding an extra 50 seconds into it really made the game better.

    Honestly I see where they were going with the 90 second gen nerf but honestly they should have just shrunk the maps cuz they're too big and it takes too long to get a down before gens are finished

    When it comes to the Gen times, adding 10 seconds was the lazy way. Which didn't really change a thing anyway. It was a half assed attempt to "shake up the Survivor meta." which really didn't do anything. The only thing it "shook up" was the Killer meta when they GUTTED Ruin, Pop Goes The Weasel, ect. Survivors only had to maybe toss in Prove Thyself and that took care of it. Instead of something like finding a can of gas for the Gen or parts, they went the lazy route.
    Gens are just as fast, if not faster than before. They only thing that changed is that Survivors exchanged ONE of their "Second Chance" freebie perks for Prove Thyself. "Second Chance" Survivors perks are basically like Gen Defense slow down perks for Killers. For both sides, it's a stall meta. Only now Survivors are bringing Speed Up perks. They always could use Speed Up, but they chose stall instead cause it made the match longer with more chases, but still ended up in a win. Now they went to Speed Up. Less fun, but still a win.
    "Fun" was just a buzz word for "as long as we win." Is the win more boring to get? Yeah, yeah it is. Though Survivors proved they were less concerned about chases and "having fun" (as they SAID they were), than what was ACTUALLY fun, winning.

    Overheat didn't really affect Hillbilly, all Hillbilly mains agree that the addons where the real nerf, Overheat was actually necesary for game health

    Personally, I'm okay with the gen nerf, but I was pretty livid about the key nerf. I liked how you had to have gens done to make it spawn, why didn't they just add the animation and be done with it that way?
    Also, I don't play deathslinger, but I felt his nerf was overdone. They made the aiming slower & increased his terror radius. They should've just done one or the other, not both.
    I also hope they buff Freddy. Just give multiple powers that affect survivors in the dream: like dream pallets spawn after so many seconds, dream lockers that will trap survivors in them, dream vault locations that injure or force slow vaulting, or dream totems that mess with survivors or something. He has so much potential T-T

      I didn't mind the key nerf (tho I'll admit my bias as a killer main) but yeah i will agree it was kinda overdone, the main issue was it being a bit of a get-out-of-jail-free/win-more card and punishing killers for, you know, killing and stuff (i get it, it made it so survivors had a chance to escape to even the playing field), the animation nerf is really overkill it could just be a one-tap one second animation but then it might end up being like old hatch stand-offs where it's much more in the favor of the survivor or killer depending on the health state or add-ons but but yeah
      I completely agree with you on deathslinger and freddy, why can't dream pallets be basekit as well as snares, freddy can just have multiple modes like old doctor having a toggle depending on whether or not he's in a chase
      He could have a stalking/trap mode where he is a different speed and is able to place fake objects like dream pallets but disables his m1 and sleep timer, he would have his old power of manually bringing survivors into the dream world back in this mode as well as his teleport. his chase mode could be his current power with his m1 back and his snares but no teleport and having the timers start again

    Not sure what you mean about the slow down buffs. Plenty of slowdown perks got nerfed not buffed. No one even uses certain slow down perks because they got nerfed into the ground. Sure you still have some strong ones but Pop is now a shell of its former self and Hex is no longer worth it as its slowdown is minimal, can be removed super early if you know where hex spawns at and will be removed on a kill. Sure you have eruption but that requires setup. You have to stop a chase and you risk losing someone. One mistake is all it takes for the killer to lose a match. We now have other survivor perks that paired with toolboxes, can have gens done in as little as 30 seconds now just on your own.

    Ok so the Freddy nurf was because steam reviews where flooded with comments from new player's say Freddy was busted and OP. They nurfed him because people with less then 40 hours and have only scratch the depth of the game mechanics complained. Then again there's a pig nurf almost every other patch.
    Flashlight input cap is likely from people using auto clickers. Some made it ungodly load. Still happy about the locker blind removal.
    Deathslingger still can do stealth shots. You just have to use monitor and abuse
    Gen progress is...tricky. You have games where 3 gens pop before the first down and then games where everyone is dead and nothing got done. I have thrown games like this because at this point the survivor's know who actually won that game.but it helps with Trapper player's...somewhat

    I have a buff idea for the keys with a new addon that would allow survivors to break breakable walls. Make it a lock and when used would spent like 25% or more of the keys charge. It would give survivors possibility to open some doors that would be beneficial for them like the side door on the badham preschool building that killers rarely open as it gives easier loop for the fence window. It would not be the most useful addon in most maps but it would give some more usage for the keys and it fits because I always see the breakable walls as doors anyway as they block doorways.

      Keys are fine. It is still a strong item to use, but there is one thing. U hope to win the match with your team, so u will bring something more useful for all, but not only for u.

      Also this add-on will never use, because u can open the loop (+ 15-20 seconds for your team), or just a medkit... (+ 30-32 seconds for a team)

      Breakable walls literally exist to remove infinites, why would u allow the survivors to open them again. The keys give u constant aura reading with no drawbacks, thats not strong enough?

    Freddy needs a bit of a rework that makes him a lot more fun. I do like playing Freddy, but I have to take a break after 3 games, because almost anyone is more fun. Really just not Hag or Twins in my opinion.

      My idea for a rework for Freddy would be make him like old doctor
      freddy can just have multiple modes being able to toggle between them depending on whether or not he's in a chase or not

    About your Freddy gameplay, doesn't Freddy have a lullaby when you are sleeping? If so, then maybe Trail of Torment isn't that useful on him

    I think most of those are weird nerfs especially twins. I dont see how the gen nerf is weird considering gens actually pop insanely quick even now. Even without tool boxs or perks gens can be popped in 2-3 mins leaving the killer with 1-2 gens left. Making him have to tunnel or camp to get a survivor out to stand a chance and against a smart survivor team that wont work at all.
    Killers are forced to use gen perks now a days to keep up with how fast gens can pop without them you are just handicapping yourself. Which sucks cause killers can make some really fun builds without gen perks. But if you dont have at least 1 or 2 gen perks in your build then your gens are gonna go by fast especially if you are playing slower/M1 killers

    Ever since the flashlight nerf, I've rarely used them because they just feel bad to use imo :/
    They should have kept the old sound and have an adaptive cooldown that starts at 0, like old flashlight, and gets longer with each click

    I have to say when they thought of reducing the effectiveness of self-care by nerfing the healing speed to 35% from 50% they did not take into consideration perks like sloppy butcher that makes it half the time to repair a generator to heal or the hemorrhage status effect that makes you lose healing progress very quickly which can make an interrupted heal much more damaging to survivors that run self care then intended. I'm a killer main who also plays survivor and I say it was a nerf into the grave.

    i dont understand why the hatch exists at all tbh,its really unfair for the killer. you do everything you can to put yourself in a winning position then you need to win a game of basically a 50/50 coinflip, and its even worse if they have perks to help them find it. also i think the gen nerf was made purely because it was too easy to repair them and overall survivors needed a nerf

    I think the nerf to sabatoging hooks was and is a mistake to this day. the effect of a good sabo is basically useless because the hooks respawns like half a minute later.

    Freddy was always weak and boring. You could give him a chain gun that fires sleep paralysis bullets that afflict survivors with Hindered, Blindness, Madness, Incapacitated, Exposed and Oblivious from up to 128 meters away, and he'd still be weak and boring.

    I think the key nerf is the weirdest because now hatch is so unbelievably useless like only in a blue moon will you see a hatch escape like it would be cool if it spawned closed when there are two survivors left and if keys are a one time thing. Like maybe the hatch could stay but the second person would need to find another key. Idk I’ve just been trying to get some hatch achievements done and the fact that it doesn’t even spawn in in the end game collapse is actually wild, because solo que idiots that don’t do gens and walk around for ten minutes spend the whole minute and thirty seconds at the exits tea bagging while I’m injured waiting for them to leave so I can get a hatch escape usually while in a chase. They need to rework hatch and keys again but behavior kind of just does whatever they want and don’t have a single person on the dev team that plays their game even semi regularly

    The new breakable walls have a lot of clipping
    Normally you couldn’t see it because non breakable walls are in the way. But with aura reading like windows of opportunity it looks REALLY bad

    I escaped once with a key, I actually found it on a chest with plunderer because I was doing a challenge. The killer closed the hatch while chasing me (I didn't see it when walking above it) so I hid, they keeped on going because they probably didn't thought I would open it, opened it and escaped
    But this is so niche that it isn't even funny

    Seems like some of these nerfs were quickly thrown into the patches to temporarily remove large issues in the game and work on them in the future. For me, this has made gameplay very boring now, and I am playing this game less frequently than I ever had.
