Hands down The Best Schumann Symphony No. 2 there is! (no simple explanation... why I so love this symphony.. : intro movement just looks ordinary but drama brings me to total emotional collapse.. than resolution still preserves the tonus for Scherzo...)
He made very fast first drafts and usually only wrote on a treble and bass staff while using lines to show octave descents and chord cues so that when he transferred it over to orchestral score he basically copied and edited the final version.
Bravo! Command and control at its peak, at its finest. Thank you.
The musicianship! In awe every time!
BEST 대한민국 만세 독도 만세 Bravo Brava

May we, Americans, introduce you to the genius, Schumann? An exquisite performance:compare Bernstein, Szell, Karajan ,etc,
how was it possible to actually be able to put this down on paper? genius is too weak a word.

You know why we wear black to a performance? I think its so that we don't scare the audience and instead look like we're very "civilized".
The first mvnt is too slow and not epic enough but the whole is really beautiful.
yes, slow, but,for better or worse, an intentional build-up effect that accentuates the beautiful sonorities I think.
I think clarinet fked up in the coda of 4th Movement sounding funny. Get the conductor please.
