Gavin is actually really smart especially with science and technology, a lot of the time he just lacks common sense or says something that is correct but the way he words it or explains it makes it sound so stupid, like when he was trying to explain the recovery position XD

For people saying that you Sorting Hat isn't taking into account the House that you want to be in, keep in mind: Neville took almost five minutes to Sort because he want to be in Hufflepuff, but the Hat still put him in Gryffindor. The Hat doesn't Sort you into the House where you'd fit in the best. It Sorts you into the House where you're most likely to reach your full potential.
It makes so much sense though. The unwaivering faith and loyalty he has for not only his family, but his friends is overwhelming. Geoff seems like the type that would literally die for his daughter and do anything for his friends.

Hermoine being in Griffindor rather than Ravenclaw is a good example of this. However, Geoff strikes me as a Hufflepuff more than anything else anyway. And since I've been watching a few let'splay vids lately, I definitely see him as a hufflepuff.

One of the funniest Off Topic episodes I've watched. When Pottermore first came out in 2011/12, I used to be a Hufflepuff. Took the quiz of the new one. Got Slytherin (which I'm okay with as I have grown in five years). I personally prefer Gryffindor, but Slytherin is actually pretty close to me as well. No way am I a Ravenclaw. Not that wise.
I went from Hufflepuff to Ravenclaw, mostly because I went to library school and am all of a sudden interested in knowledge. Gotta be honest, I'm kinda disappointed . . . Hufflepuff has hipster cred.
The big flaw in these tests is that they don't ask you which house you want to be in. In the Harry Potter world, if you REALLY want to be in (or not in) a certain house, the Sorting Hat will listen to you and let that influence its decision.
