@@zvonazgnadbiskupije1094also about this video is audio of the bell in the background is actually the Kaiserglocke? Because I though it was never recorded.
@@Marcus_Maerker It's transposed Pummerin. Usually, Kaiserglocke was never recorded, unfortunately. Usually, it would be already on gramophone, but in kinda bad quality
Well, old Kaiserglocke had 26 250 kg(525 German Zentners/1 German Zentner was 50 kg). Unfortunately, it was taken for war needs in 1918. and melted for cannons. In 1924. it was replaced by new bell, St. Peter's bell(Dicke Pitter)
In der Aufnahme erklingt nicht die ehemalige "Kaiserglocke" des Kölner Domes, sondern die heutige, 24.200 kg schwere St.-Peters-Glocke. Beste Grüße, Erwin Hoheisel, Eppstein
@@zvonazgnadbiskupije1094 I just checked it but it’s not the Pummerin either. It must be the Gloriosa (also named Kaiserglocke) from Frankfurt, which is Germany’s fifth largest bell weighing in at 11950 kg.
The tone dosent necessarily connect with the weight it just depends on the rib thickness, if the bells note is still Cis° but it’s rib is heavy it will still have the same note

It's not my guilt. It's guilt of WWI. Lot of money was used for weapons and there wasn't any money to purchase new weapons so Austria-Hungary and German Empire started to take church bell. If there wasn't WWI, old Kaiserglocke would survive

Last year I heard Dicke Pitter ringing during Ostersonntag in Cologne which was mesmerizing.
I totally can understand you!

Dicke Pitter is 24 000 kg

@@zvonazgnadbiskupije1094 right ok
The sound is definetly the Pummerin. A bit higher than the Dicke Pitter. The Bourdon bell of Antwerpen cathedral also has a great sound by the way.
I know. That's just a bit transposed to revive memory on old Kaiserglocke
yeah thats pummerin but its high pitched a bit.

Ich glaub aber nicht dass die Kaiser Glocke von 1874 größer und schwerer war als der Dicke Pitter weil sie ungefähr 1 oder 2 Töne höher klingt
