This video is a hidden gem for hobbyists of computer scientists interested in 3D graphics and simulation and mathematics alike. Though I don't entirely understand APL as a language to its fullest extent, I very much so appreciate its synonymity with linear algebra. Very awesome content! I'd love to see more like it.
Great video and explanation of interfacing APL with the MTV3D game engine, but I could not get it running with Dyalog APL/W-64 Version 18.2.45405. The code calls bridge171.dll, but the newer version has bridge182-64_unicode.dll. Changing the call to the newer version still results in the same error. Here are the error lines: Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Program Files\Dyalog\Dyalog APL-64 18.2 Unicode\bridge171.dll' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Users pjhe\U03_SimulationAndGamingWithAPL\demo21\mtv3d65_8.dll' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. I'd love to get this working and play around with it, and see more of your videos. Thanks!
Tomas' code is written using Dyalog v17.1 Classic 32-bit; this means that his materials cannot be used by Dyalog v18.2 Unicode 64-bit (the version that you are using) directly. We are investigating what needs to be done to get things working for you; please contact Dyalog Support (information on our website) so that we can keep you updated with progress.
We now have a Dyalog v18.2 Unicode 32-bit interpreter that can be used to experiment with Tomas's code. Please contact Dyalog Support (information on our website - dyalog.com) so that we can tell you how to get it.
