- I'm shocked, it's only been 2 weeks since I started listening to rap and already I'm giving an A-, that's going from disliking everything about rap to liking it a lot. SHOCKED!!! Check out my reaction and see why I think it's so good...

❤️Thank You ALL for the LOVE and Support. We Love yall!! ❤️

This album was the first rap album to win a Pulitzer award for a reason.
OK, I need to hear more of it then...
Imma let you finish.. but TPAB was one of the greatest albums of ALL TIME!
@@DaddyT21 lol
@@DaddyT21 fucking facts. To pimp a butterfly hits just as hard as the first listen. Hands down one of my favorite albums across all genres
And that reason is that TPAB was robbed of the album of the year Grammy, so this was a sort of way to make up for it
I think you would appreciate Kendrick Lamar's "I". It gives you a different perspective of Kendrick.
I'll add that soon. Thanks.
and u
Yeah, he's not going to appreciate the song for what it is because he doesn't have a clear understanding or foundation of Kendrick as a full artist and his incredible work. In fact, if he doesn't really care for hip hop he won't have the mind frame to absorb it in a substantive way.
Some of these reactors couldn't care less about the genre, certainly don't respect it, because they're "unfamiliar" - so they hop around from song to song with no clear strategy to learn and/or appreciate these individuals.
It's strictly about knowing that the genre is popular and exploiting it for clicks and potential revenue.
@@robinvolpi It's not an easy genre to get into. So much of it is alien to me, it's probably going to take more than just exposure to the music to get into it properly. For now I'm interested in the social message side of hip/hop, these are the tracks that are speaking to me. I'm surprised both with how I've taken to the music & how it can be enjoyable, even though the subject matter is often serious.
Also I don't make anything from this channel. I give half to charity & the other half to a student who edits the videos for me. I do it because I'm into growing myself & because I'm learning a lot about how it all works so that I can successfully launch an ESL channel soon.
Have a great weekend!
Kendrick is from Compton, CA
Dang, If If I had of known that I would of worn my Compton Cap.
I cry every time I hear this song
stop the cap chief

That’s how a lot of black boys are raised, in houses governed by fear. My mama was the exact same way with me. It’s been said that black women raise their sons like that so they would have discipline in situations where they come face to face with authority figures. They say it goes back to the days of slavery and segregation where just looking at a white man or woman could get you killed. It’s a way of teaching about consequences I guess. My mama always used to say “I beat you so that the police don’t have to”. And when I say beat, I mean beat.
That makes sense.
You can put this to many people, regardless of race. It's more in the sense of the poor than anything.
Although you're not a hip-hop person you approached this honestly and thoughtfully. I like that.
If you keep this up I think you'll be a fan in no time
The only song I haven't liked so far is the first reaction I did, Bubblin, Anderson Paak. That almost stopped me in my tracks, but I persisted and I have a lot of favs now.
Ab- soul, jay rock , J.I.D ,
Immortal technique “ dance with the devil”
Kendrick Lamar “ Compton” ft dr.Dre
More Kendrick “ Damn”
More J cole
Cheers. All added to my list.
you have got a new subscriber my friend. Really loving your insight and your perspective on things. I will always be happy when people from older generations are able to be open-minded and appreciate rap/hiphop for the great art form it is. Keep going :)
Thank you for being here! It's still not music that I would prefer over other genres but I'm slowly learning... I really do like the message they send in some of the more serious songs. Overall I'm still a bit shell shocked over how much I like it. What else have I missed out on over the last 30 years?
You should listen to the song J Cole - 4 Your Eyez Only. It's a 8 minute long song about a friend of J Cole who told J Cole to make this song for his daugther if he dies. Sadly he did and J Cole made this song rapping about his life out of his friend's perspective as if he was giving his last words to his daugther. So to sum it up, this song is for the daugther of J Cole's friend, so as soon as she grows up, she could hear the story of the life of her dad told by J Cole. Keep in Mind while listening to it that Cole speaks out of the perspective of his friend in the first 3 Verses. The fourth and last Verse is out of J Cole's perspective, speaking about her father. Sry for that long ass text but this song is a masterpiece of modern Hip Hop, I think you will love it!
Thanks a lot. I will queue it up.
@@MusicReaction when are you gonna do the reaction to it? Can't wait to see it
@@AndersdenkerYT If all goes well it'll be out Monday.
This song was probably the best song along with the Eminem Bad Guy of the last decade.
@@AndersdenkerYT Sorry I stuffed up the audio, I'll re release it soon...
A true “wise” person would never proclaim wisdom.
Indeed, and people say a lot of dumb stuff on social media. Btw I stopped using that pretty quickly.
I disagree. Wisdom and pride don’t always correlate. Someone who is truly intelligent and/or wise would know it, at least in relation to others. Nothing wrong with someone who’s wise or otherwise intelligent proclaiming it if it’s actually true.
"you gone fear me if yo don't fear no one else"
Restores my faith in white peoples appreciating this art. I love that we can connect through music
It's taken me a few decades... slow learner I guess...
white people black people both people there’s good and bad people part of life is learning the difference of whos good and bad for you personally
"Restores my faith in white people" jokes are good and all but damn that is a racist statement lol
@@Selloca how? Sometimes its hard for other people to understand you or empathize with another culture. So yes my faith has been restored that we can all understand each other…eventually.
@@WeaponExX who gives a damn about yt people they are not the Israelites who Kendrick is talking about.
I love how I learned history from this video fuckin awesome 👌
Even rap can be educational...
What it says backwards is the same why god why god statement said by his cousin beacon in the first intro. Set up to get ready for the "i beat your ass if you keep talking back" from his mother, the backwards lyrics reversed to his childhood at 7 years old as the story is told from the prospective not only from him at 7 years old but 17 and 27. If you have the spotify app you can listen to the meaning of the song on a podcasts called dissect podcast with cole cuhna 🙏
Wow, so many layers! I had no idea.
check out the song meat grinder - madvillain. It is from one of the most respected abstract hip hop albums in history. It is much less dark and more on the funny side. But MF DOOM (the rapper in madvillain) Is absolutely insane. So talented.
Thanks, sounds very interesting.
Definitely listen to all of Kendrick albums especially good kid m.a.a.d. city and to pimp a butterfly
I'll get there eventually...
That was every black kid's mom in the 80's
Early 90's too
Nah this is still black mothers today which is horrible.
Lmao I agree that it is a dreary song for the holiday season. His song Complexion is more upbeat than this and How Much a Dollar Cost if you'd be interested in more.
I will add complexion to the list. Already done the other song. Have a great day!
Lupe Fiasco- Hurt me soul
It's on my list, probably within the next 2 weeks.
King Kendrick
IKR! I'm impressed!
I highly recommend Run The Jewels. Songs like A Christmas Fucking Miracle, A Report to the Shareholders/Kill Your Masters, Angel Duster
if you havent yet you should really react to "all falls down" by kanye west off of his first record. its a lot more upbeat than this but it carries the same weight and message, i think youll like it :)
Do check Mick Jenkins - Drowning !
You will love it, trust me !
Buena reacción hermano, un abrazo desde Colombia
Thank you Oscar. A big hug back from Vietnam.
joey bada$$
Should listen to Ka
Is very complex lyricism but also great intellectual.
Honor killed the samurai
Sounds like it will tax my brain, but I'll give it a shot...
@@MusicReaction that's the point, is far from the mumble rap scene.
also id highly recommend "sweet dreams" by Samble (shameless self promotion i know) you dont have to react on camera but id love to hear your thoughts
I totally love to support all artists, so I will definitely do this.
You gotta link? I couldn't find it on YT.
@@MusicReaction it wont let me post links in the comments but just search sweet dreams samble and it should come up, the cover is like a blue lady
@@trevorsamble Still doesn't come up. My email is posted at the bottom of my videos descriptions.
@@MusicReaction sent the email
If you didn't grow up in the hood with a single black momma u may not get the sing, but dude got close to it. He should have let it play til the end but I get why you cut it off
Cheers. I'm slowly learning...
Hes from compton in los Angeles
frank ocean - ivy
Added to list. Thanks.
sing about me im dying of thirst and keisha's song, both by Kendrick
Chao em. Both of them are on my list.
2pac
I wonder if heaven got a ghetto
hola
Hello back.
Denzel Curry - SIRENS | Z1RENZ
Added to my list
Tech N9ne - Am I A Psycho
it's different
Ok, I'm always interested in different...
@@MusicReaction I'll suggest more good and different ones once you drop this
Tech N9ne is a king for sure. Along with Kendrick Lamar and Big KRIT is very slept on as well if you like Kendrick. Tech N9ne has songs with Kendrick and also one with Big KRIT called “That’s My Kid”. They would be great reactions!
@@Tp-wf5jb Ok, I've advanced Tech9 up my list.
Listen to Drake Landed
Thanks, added to list.
Scary way to raise a child? Ok. Lol. Every black child in the us.
Unimaginable way of life!
@@MusicReaction it’s hard to survive in the hoods all over America. One mistake can land u in jail or the cemetery. Have to raise them with fear of ass whoopin cuz the other two ways are much worse.
@@jeremylewis679 you pretty much sums it up
that’s no better installing fear and beating your kids senseless for simply being children is abuse . Black parents beat their kids because the slave owners beat our ancestors it was passed down to generations . That’s why my generation is breaking the curse
A less serious more radio song to react to I would suggest laugh now cry later by drake
What did you think of my reaction to LNCL?
I hope you know that Kendrick Lamar is a Christian, follows Christ 😎
I had no idea.
@@MusicReaction I don’t think it’s accurate to call him a Christian but he definitely subscribes to biblical teachings.
@@justlooking1087 OK, I get the distinction.
Juice wrld
Rip
Somebody I should react to?
@@MusicReaction absolutely.
