Jimi Hendrix's mainstream career spanned only four years but he is considered one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music. Sadly he died at the age of only 27. He headlined the famous Woodstock Festival in 1969. He had a lot of great songs such as "Purple Haze", "Hey Joe", "The Wind Cries Mary", "All Along The Watchtower" etc.
It’s great that people still love this ultimate showman 50+ years after his death.
I’m glad you appreciate him. I agree, there will never be another Hendrix. He was a pure genius. I saw him twice when I was young and I was never the same. Btw, The audience scenes are often not congruent with the performances because they often are spliced together from other parts of the show or from other performances.
Jimi: the man, the myth, the legend 🎸🎸
That adrenaline rush you’re feeling is the feeling of the passion he had translating to you. You know it’s all real with Jimi. Pure talent. Pure genius. Greatest guitar player of all time.
To REALLY put him in perspective, he was left handed, and all guitars at the time were right handed, so he bought a right-handed guitar, and strung it upside down so he could play it!! TRUE!!!
You almost feel like shaking the audience and going 'This shit ain't gonna' be around forever!'
Don't worry he was revered and adored why he is so famous today
Still
The was numb like that because you got to understand the time back then 1967 , that his guitar player was very very rare and no one has ever heard or seen anyone play a guitar like that , when was at Woodstock in 1969 He came and start playing the star spangled banner on guitar 🎸 the crowd was so quiet because everyone and me was like what the F..k !! it was ASUM , I'm still in a state of SHOCK , I was very sad when passed away , he was a musical ICON !!!!!!
The Greatest!…. Ahead of his Time!….🤟❤️
I agree, Jimi is fantastic and one of a kind ✌
Jimi is legendary!!!
But the supporting band connected so well with him!!!
Being in several bands over the years...it is truly something special.
One of my favorite drummers of all time! He is 🔥 🔥 🔥
My first time seeing this video of Foxy Lady and some of his moves while playing guitar remind me of Prince. No doubt Prince watched some of his concert footage and did some of Jimi's moves.
Looking at it is actually dancing while playing is quite hard one wrong angle and you either hit the wrong string etc . He’s so calm and aware of what he’s doing it’s so cool
an amazing guitarist, song writer, and performer.... as good as it gets!
Every snapshot they took of him could be a Jimi Hendrix t-shirt for sure
all of his songs were masterpieces
"The Wind Cries Mary"
Love your reaction. Jimi wasn't just a guitar wizard. He was god manifested as a 20th century musician for just a short while.
I was growing up listening to Jimi Hendrix now aged 65 and I am still listening to ROCK music 👍
they ain't nothing like Jimi... they are shocked!!
I was in the 5th grade when I first heard this song. Even at that young age...he made me feel a certain way! 😹 Definitely wanted to grow up to be someone's foxy lady!
Classic tune! Never gets old. Great upload! 👍🎸
I don't think people, even today, appreciate the fact that he played left-handed on a right-handed guitar. He was HUGE in Britain before finally coming back to the USA. America took a while to grasp his genius. His birth name was John, given by his mother. His father, named James, came back from the war and after divorcing her changed his name to James.
I think Jimi was so gorgeous.
When you said are they even listening to that - i was laughing thinking Nah, they're all stoned 😂
The saddest part of the Hendrix story is that he could have been saved. The woman he was with never called for an ambulance. She called a couple of friends. The woman was from a wealthy German family and (IMO) I think she was only concerned about cleaning up the scene and deposing of HER drugs. When one of the friends arrived, he called for help but it was too late. The woman committed suicide in '96 after losing a lawsuit against Jimi's ''official'' girlfriend.
Major adrenaline rush! Makes feel like saying - Fffoxy!!
Jimi puts people in a zone. The Jimi ship I suppose. Can't get on - can't get off - just riding.
No your right he makes you something different
My question is: How did he know about you...way back then?
Jimi is everybody's brother. Miss my bro. Lefty too. Genius.
James Hendrix .... the full package ::::
The footage has been edited at the beginning with still photos so that it wont be taken down due to copy right. The DVD shows unedited shots of him playing, you see everything
This audience is a complete wet blanket but Jimi is //slaying//
Jimi with his white Fender Stratocaster, storming around the stage, laying down some sick licks.
As great as he was His rhythm section should get more credit. His sound would never have been as good without Mitch and Noel.
Amazing video!! Check out the live at Maui version of this song as well to see which one you like the best!
Greatest guitarist
Absolutely awesome!
The crowd seems like they'r not engauged with the performance, but it was 95* in Miami that day. So, that's why they'r just sitting down.
Very nice choice - hot and spicy - from the all too short, Hendrix catalog 😥 you'd love "the wind cries Mary" 🔥💕
That's the look of a stunned audience!
Baddest electric cat of them all..
Jayy, it’s definitely an adrenaline rush!
Good song good reaction
L E G E N D 🔥
Do more Jimi!
Hendrix is God🔥
Cheers from east Europe!
Try the Band - Taste - Rory Galleger from 1970 Isle of Wight - "What's going on"
He is also one of the 27 club
The crowd is paying attention to Jimi, it's just that most of them are on LSD and stoned from smoking too much weed.
The woodstock version.i like best
🔥🔥
You've got the hots REAL bad for Jimi, but who can blame you!
sister you should try watching foxy lady live in maui just out of this world
Next you should listen to him play the star spangled banner
I saw him play the Star Spangled Banner in Memphis, Totally freaking AWESOME! Beautiful!!🤩
It’s cute Jimi played leftie on a right-handed guitar til Eric Clapton bought him a left-handed guitar. I’m sure he said , “You’re right, Eric, that is better.”
Then he set his guitar on fire and smashed it into his amplifier. ✌🏼🤣👍🏼
This song is about Roger daltreys wife from the who
I heard somewhere that Jimi wrote this in about 15 minutes after watching 17-year-old Stevie Nicks perform at an outdoor venue & the wind blew her short skirt up to reveal yellow panties. I don't know if this is true or not, but it makes a good story, IMHO.
👏👏👏👏
Most of the people in the audience back then were stoned.
No they were "experienced" 😉
"Not necessarily stoned, but....beautiful."
Fire is another good Jimi Hendrix song!
Also check out Lenny Kravitz if you haven't already!
Upside down, backwards Strat! It don't get much better than that.......
You should watch Stevie ray Vaughan live at the El Macambo performing Texas flood. As good, if not better than Hendrix.
Hendrix was amazing...gone far too soon!
Didier Lockwood a dit que c'était un chaman!
In one of the still pics of him , it looks like he has a Les Paul.
xxx

Nowadays absolute technical accuracy has become a rather boring alternative to the rush of enjoying music making, but Hendrix embodies the antithesis of this.
They're on acid. Lol
Naw dont fuk with Jim
If you were lucky enough to see Hendrix jam you payed attention
