Jerry and Linda, I am heart-broken about the loss of your Gizmo. I learned a few days ago and my heart is still aching. He was such a wonderful sweetie. Hugs to you both.
"That's why I make the missus work." I guess that was an attempt at humor.😒 If both spouses are no longer working and are spending more time together, I don't think their location matters. When my Dad retired at age 62, it took my full-time housewife mom a few months to get used to him being at home so much more. Unfortunately, my Mom's health went downhill about 2 years after my Dad retired, so I hope all who are newly retired appreciate their spouse's or partner's good health and don't take it for granted. Wolfgang Puck's restaurant looked great. Thanks for the review.
Can’t wait for your website! Also I had a 1979 Datsun 310! Bought it new when I graduated high school. It was a 6 speed, so fun to drive! Thanks for another great video 👍
Love you guys and all your videos. I called into TV to check out the LSV. I am retiring in January 2024, and I am extremely interested in retiring in TV. I am planning to visit in March or April, hoping to get my wife as interested as I am. At present, "she is not enthralled about moving to LV, or anywhere else where people "are all crowded together." We will be celebrating our 50th ywedding anniversary in June 2024, and zi want a new home in TV as my gift! Ha!
What happens if a weapon of mass destruction starts a fire in the Villages like the one in Maui? How would people evacuate? This has been heavy on my mind.
Hi Jerry and Linda. Talking about salt in the air near the ocean, I do hear it can eat away at areas of a car. Being from NY with its harsh winters, using salt wasn’t the best thing. We had NYS inspections and if any signs of the frame eaten away from salt, automatic failure. What do you do?🤔 Linda’s fellow golf cart driver cutting her off? On the roads here, I have never seen so much of it. I think it’s the worse of any state I’ve driven in. Lastly, did Jerry ever do a video on different Florida palm trees. My husband badly wants a saguaro one, but I think AZ protects them. And are there ever any country tribute bands that play there? And for Larry, hard rock or heavy metal? Ummmm, retired people at an Ozzy or Kiss tribute show? Larry would be alone!🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thank you and looking forward to your website and different links.😊
They should publish a Villages dictionary of commonly used terms in The Villages LOL. There's way too much to do in The Villages to get sick of each other.
Jerry and Linda, my condolences on the loss of your little buddy Gizmo. I’m sure you were excellent doggo parents and gave him his best life. He seemed a faithful friend and it’s hard to say goodbye.
Thanks for the hard work. Do you have a link to what camera you use in your car? I understand you might not see this comment, but thought I’d at least try! 😊Thanks.

Upscale is what you make it. The places I frequent are not upscale, but knowing I anonymously could go anywhere I wanted is priceless. Recognizing I am just one of eight billion on this planet is the key. We are all just a bacteria in a petri dish in the scheme of things. Stay humble, Jerry.
Enjoyed another one of your videos. It’s starting to get much cooler here at night in Pennsylvania. High 30’s, mid 40’s. Fall is here, and the leaves are falling. Dreading the season that follows Fall.
Hi 👋 Jerry and Linda I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am about the passing of your beloved Gizmo. 😢 I will miss his sweet little face at the end of your videos. He was very lucky to have such wonderful parents. God bless you both for giving him a loving home & taking such good care of him especially in his final years. Love your show! Keep up the good work! 💔😢🙏
We have discussed this before. As we said, those are the kind of people that these production companies look for. As far as the country is concerned they become the face of our town. The people they feature are not at all indicative of the types of people that we have encountered the villages.
We just got back last night from our Lifestyle visit. We stayed in Atwood Bungalows. We had a lake view, and we saw an alligator swimming in the lake stalking those poor ducks! We drove the golf cart from Atwood all the way up to First Responders Rec Center. What an amazing tribute to our finest! Someone suggested we try Wolfgang Puck. We didn't. Yet. We want to return and rent for about a month so we can spend more time house hunting. So many Villages. It's really hard to choose!!
Jerry and Linda, I've been on the road and just found out about Gizmo - I'm torn up, and I just wanted pass on my condolences to both of you. I miss him already.
Hi Linda and Jerry. I just watched your video. I just heard like Linda mentioned at the end that Gizmo had passed away. So sorry to hear the news and for your loss ❤
Once again love your channel. Been busy recently so please accept my belated condolences for Gizmo. I look forward to your videos every Monday and Thursday. Warmly. Ed. Ps my son builds web sites in case your current plan changes. Cheers!
Hi Jerry and Linda, We just finally moved to TV a few weeks ago and have been very busy getting organised and settled in, Learning the areas ect but although busy I do still watch you both just haven't commented, Missing Gizmo too, Boy I cried when I heard of his passing and totally understand, Such a special boy❤So don't think us faithful followers have abandoned you as we are still around and enjoying every video you put out, Appreciate all you do and how much effort you put into each and every one, Now we are here we hope to see you both around the area some time and get to meet you in person🙋♀
Thanks for another interesting and fun show Jerry and Linda. Sometime will you talk about what you did in retirement before you moved to the Villages? Sounds like you had about 7 years of retirement before moving from Indiana. What was your life like during that time? What activities did you participate in? Did you ever think you would move to FL? My husband and I are loyal fans of your show from Colorado. Have a great week!😊
When we first retired we still ran a small photography business. When we decided to stop doing that, I focused on woodworking and making jewelry boxes. Linda finished them.
Yes, the golf cart should not have turned left from the golf cart lane. You, however, did not need to speed up when you can clearly see the merge sign at the start of the video (which the cart is very near). Defensive driving saves accidents.
Thank you for addressing the issue of turning left from the golf cart lane. I just closed on my new home in Lake Denham (also a former Hoosier) and had this exact situation, but the driver stopped in the golf cart lane with left blinker on and I stopped because it was unclear if he was going to turn in front of me. Eventually I passed by but it made me wonder about the proper protocol, so I appreciate the clarification!
As someone else suggested, I think interviewing the man who is a resource for Villagers who have special needs adult children living with them would be very interesting and beneficial.
Pat and Ed from Wichita Kansas we live in Hutchinson 40 mins away! We love TV have you been yet? Love the video guys. Wow that golf car.. yikes! Thanks again!
Speaking of golf cars, when I lived in Lincoln Hills, a Del Webb community, in Northern California, we had at least 1 home burn each year from fires started by too small of an extension cord to charge electric carts. Large extension cords are very expensive, however, the safety of your home is worth spending the extra money to be sure it can handle the current properly. Fires that start in the garage are not easily detected during the night when you are asleep in the house so it is important to take every precaution you can to avoid fires. Most electric cars have a dedicated electrical outlet and special plug, but still people try to do it on something that won't handle that purpose. It was sad to see the firemen up on the roof chainsawing holes over the garages to vent the smoke. If you are not certain you have the proper extension cord for charging, be sure to check with your golf car dealer for the correct charging cord.
Here is one I saw this past weekend, I was driving out of Hammock at Fenney when I looked over and saw a car driving down the cart path headed toward the Fenney Rec Center!
Last week I saw a red sports car (not a golf cart) driving very fast on the golf cart path by the fire station, across from Eisenhower Rec Center. Golf carts pulled off onto the grass looking angry/shocked.
Interesting video! Lots of good questions! I had car in tben80’a stationed in Orlando at what is now the car clinic in Orlando. All I had happen was my paint faded a little from being outside and the lining on the roof came unglued which was quite common I guess but no rust even with the fading paint. Good answer on the funeral stuff. It happens here too though . Once you get in a certain age I think it’s natural. I have heard of couples splitting in TV but it happens.., nice haircut Jerry!
I traveled to over 45 countries with the military. Like you Jerry, every time I would see something great or have a great meal in a local restaurant, all I could think of was how much better this experience would be if my wife Elaine was with me. We just celebrated our 54th anniversary and couldn’t be happier. We are only a couple of weeks from being The Villages full timers 😁😁😁👍❤️
You said just kidding to the tarantulas, but my mother worked in a small grocery store In Detroit and almost grabbed a tarantula in a bunch of bananas. The owner pushed her out of the way and killed it with a broom. This was probably about 1934-5
I was so happy to see that TV is so supportive of special needs adults. I am not in that situation. I never gave it any thought but of course there are many over 55s who need this support.
We enjoyed the video today. During our 1st lifestyle visit we ate at Wolfgang Puck's every day!! (Great squash soup) You did not share the bill total this time. Wish you had let us buy your lunch for you the other day. Got half of the puzzle. 🤔We thought we would do EVERYTHING together, but soon we were involved in different activities and now while I'm at rehearsals, Paul goes around the house pointing and saying "this is mine, and this is mine and this is mine!" And he can crank up the volume on the stereo till the walls rattle! 🔊
Thank you, Jerry and Linda. Are you thinking of getting another dog? You gave Gizmo a wonderful home. I love that Linda no longer lets the trolls hurt your feelings ❤
Same with Maine- need to be here 6 months and a day. Prob true for most states with sales and income taxes. Our NH has no such ruled because we have not got those taxes. Sooo looking forward to coming down! Wish we could now but my dad needs me now. That is ok!
Love the video, love you guys. Cant wait to move to the villages. We have never been there. We love it so much by see all the video we decided to sell are home and just move there. See you in January 2024
I’ve been living in my community for four years now. It’s been very difficult to lose people that you’ve become friends with. Some passed away and some have moved to nursing homes. Some say it’s God’s waiting room.
Wow Great news about your web site. We can then access all the great information you so graciously share with us. It is always a pleasure to see how great retirement can be. In these times there is not enough emphasis on the joys of retirement after years of working. You all bring back the idea and practice of enjoying enjoying our golden years😊
Last week I saw a red sports car (not a golf cart) driving very fast on the golf cart path by the fire station, across from Eisenhower Rec Center. Golf carts pulled off onto the grass looking angry/ shocked.
Sometimes people get confused. Shortly after we got here I found myself driving my car on the golf cartpath up near 466 A. I was able to get off quickly and where I needed to be, but it happens. Those cart paths sometimes are so nice you don't realize the difference.
Chuck had a Datsun when we got married and he also taught me how to drive a stick shift with that car. Can’t wait to get to TV! We played pickleball outside today with winds and 45*. We had a hardy group and several of us will be heading to FL sometime this winter. Can’t wait to see you when we get there. Also anxious to see your webpage soon.
You got it
Jerry and Linda, I am heart-broken about the loss of your Gizmo. I learned a few days ago and my heart is still aching. He was such a wonderful sweetie. Hugs to you both.

We love you guys
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Awww the black shirts 😢 for Gizmo….??…So sorry for your loss…❤😢😢😢
❤❤❤
Have you ever seen a scorpion in the Villages? At Disney in Fort Wilderness, we had a LIVE scorpion in our bathroom. Eek!
No we have not. We saw one in the Tampa area.
how awesome to retire at 56 ... I wish I could too. Sorry about Gizmo!
"That's why I make the missus work." I guess that was an attempt at humor.😒 If both spouses are no longer working and are spending more time together, I don't think their location matters. When my Dad retired at age 62, it took my

Well, I guess I am about 50/50 on my attempts at humor.
Golf cart was definitely gas fire as that fire was supersized. That's absolutely a gas fire.
You are correct.
ALWAYS A CLASS ACT YOU TWO! Thank you as always for all your information, hard work and dedication to your friends and fans!
❤❤❤❤❤
Web site. Very cool
I am so sorry about Gizmo 😢

Another great video. Love the bloopers. I wonder if any of those “salty” commenters have ever been to TV!
We have thought about that and decided, nope.
That “Beverly response” was hilarious! 😂.

Are you guys gonna talk about Reginald??? The local Viagra dealer down there? He made the news up here in Kasnas City!
We have discussed this before. As we said, those are the kind of people that these production companies look for. As far as the country is concerned they become the face of our town. The people they feature are not at all indicative of the types of people that we have encountered the villages.
Love bugs have no known predators. They smell and taste awful which is why not even birds eat them. 🤮
You ever sprinkle them on top of Vanilla Ice cream?

Yes…and they asked specifically about an adult child with special needs.
I cannot speak about electric golf carts but my Tesla is statistically ten time less likely to catch fire than a gasoline vehicle.
Good mailbag questions. I would never move to TV but I enoy your videos. It's like traveling on a little vacation every week.
Thank you, Anne!
Loved the show today. I just wanted to add that the portrait of Gizmo in the background is amazing. What a cool gift.
Oh my Goodness!! The two of you "thinking" about what gets on your nerves, I LAUGHED and laughed!!! so cute!!!
Thanks Kathy.
I can’t wait for the update on the cause of the golf cart fire!
I got a little choked up, because I didn't hear you introduce Gizmo; then, I had to remind myself that he's gone...😢
You don't have to live in the TV for your significant other to pluck your nerves. Happens here in NC also.
Thank you
Pat and Ed from Wichita Kansas we live in Hutchinson 40 mins away! We love TV have you been yet? Love the video guys. Wow that golf car.. yikes! Thanks again!
Was it Bobby Darrin that had the song "Put your Gater on my shoulder"?? OK they tape mouths but what about their nails?? Think they could do damage😢
