So a few days back I uploaded a short story on Mr. Madan Mohan Pandey. An employee of Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) who worked inside the Dhikala campus of the famous Jim Corbett National Park.
In the year 2005, he was mauled by a tigress who was hiding in the bushes & suddenly jumped on him & wounded him quite badly. Today on Subscribers' demand we traveled to a small village called Ranibaug located in Haldwani which falls under the Nanital district & got the opportunity to get up close & personal with Mr. Pandey.
This video is all about what happened on the night of 26/05/05 with him. Pandeyji himself narrated the entire story of that night to us. We had a look at his injuries and trust me when I had looked at his wounds I was surprised that how he managed to save himself from the claws & jaws of that tigress.
We request all of you to listen to this man's story till the end as he has gone through a lot of hardships in his life after that incident. God has been very kind in saving his life as it was nearly impossible for the doctors to save him with the kind of injuries he was brought to the hospital with.
The family is going through a financial crisis as well his own department failed to support him with monetary expenses during his operation & aftermath recovery. As wildlife lovers, I would like to request all my viewers to donate a small amount to help this man get back on his feet & live a long & healthy life with his loved ones.

He is right.............I could think of the voice failing when the tiger is attacking.......PS: Seems that the tigeress was perhaps inexperienced , may be in her first human attack or could it really be a big tiger cub and thats why inexperienced......Generally, they target and attack the throat........By the grace of God Pandey ji survived...............So sad that Mrs. Pandey lost her eyesight due to that terrible accident .................Greets and best wishes from Germany
Thank you, once again buddy for writing such a heartfelt comment. What happened with Pandey Ji was terrible. No one can explain this in words. His wounds said everything. As a creator, I have seen many things which would make stones weep, it's not easy to ask a person who has been a victim of a tiger attack. Tigers are highly territorial and trespassers are strictly prohibited in their territory. One bite in the neck & "Game Over". Humans are nothing in front of him. The worst part was what happened with Pandey Ji's wife. She lost her eye because of the trauma that she went through when she saw her husband in a brutal state. Thank you for the comment brother. Hey brother. Drones are completely prohibited in the protected & landscape forest areas of Corbett. Yes you can fly them inside your resort there are certain places where you can do it but you will have to ask the hotel people about the range till you can fly them. Do not fly without consulting the hotel people otherwise, the forest department will fine you big time. 🙏

Thanks once again for your efforts and bringing the story on youtube. Mr & Mrs. Pandey deserves all financial help and support. Forest department of Uttrakhand, KMVN and Jim Corbett park should help and give all the support him with Ex Gratia Pension. Since he was not on a permanent pay role. He is suffering which is really sad or say heart-rending. The message should be passed on to Field Director, Ministry of Forest as well to NTCA and PMO. NTCA is a part of GOI and comes under PMO.

Maybe the most bone chilling experience an individual can go through. Literally saved from the jaws of death. I met Pandey ji and heard his story as well 10+ years ago, when visiting Corbett with family. I believe after this they started electrifying the fences around the camp.

Nowadays I am reading books of Mr Jim Corbett and while I was reading some encounters with tigers 🐅 and leopards 🐆 it felt horrible and terrible but Jim Corbett was surely the best hunter tracker and environmentalist 🙏🙏🙏
Read Kenneth Anderson.u will find him more brave than Corbett.

I was also one of the witnesses of this incident and still remember every second of that night. There is much more to this story as this incident is the culmination of three days of terror. Perhaps i was the only person who has seen that tigress whole night wondering the that area which was clearly visible from the window.
We would love to hear about this incident from you as well. Do share your thoughts on this. We would like to know what happened on the campus once Pandey Ji left for Ramnagar. The tigress/tiger had completely terrorized the ambiance of the campus. She was seen around the campus for 3 consecutive nights.

Dhruvji i ranjit more & my bhanja hrishikesh had visited dhikala exactly after 21 days and heard the incident from eye witness a six footer guide.
The tigeress had cubs which were visited by tourists on elephant back.
As the cubs grew the tigeress was seen very close to the dhikala campus.she had entered daringly in a herd of elephants and picked up a fight.also she fought with a wild boar
and was probably wounded.the roars were heard in dhikala
On the second day she had returned to the same spot of the incident.
Peeped into pandeyjis room thru the window standing on her front legs.searched her prey and also licked the area.
That gave an idea whether she had become a maneater or not and was kept under watch. Sambar road was closed.
The story of attacking joshiji mini corbett was never heard of.
The reason of her mauling pandeji is not still known.
Was she irritated by tourists or was she a protective mother not known.
It was not a chance encounter as per jim corbett explanation. But she herself had come to dhikala
Analysis the reason still unknown.

Our government could have helped him more. I feel so sad seeing that he lost his vision because he couldn't take his medicines which were expensive. Human life needs to be valued more in our country. I can't even imagine seeing a loved one like this. I can understand how his wife lost her vision. Truly sad. Really difficult to hear his story. All this could have been avoided if there were electric fences around, or even if the manager didn't force him to get out to provide cigarettes for tourists. Those tourists must have felt so horrible after the incident, that a human being suffered so much because of their demands

Unfortunately, Pandey ji did not receive the financial help that he should have. Mostly NGOs & people who love wildlife helped him out. Government ka aapko pata hai ke kaise kaam karti hai. Please take some initiative and help people like Pandey ji who risk their lives to earn a livelihood.
Yes, brother. The reason for me going to Pandey Ji's place was this only. I wanted his story to come out in the open & he said that the authorities did not help him out. Dhruv Bhai aap thode achhe background se aate ho. Plz convey this msg to forest dept. Higher authorities that if any employee becomes a victim to any of these unfortunate attacks. It must be given relief and some appropriate compensation policies should be made. This story is actually heartbreaking. Love for you bhai that u are revealing these stories to the world.
Dheer bhai whenever I get to meet a person from the department I always request them to help people who have been victims of such attacks. Many people forge these attacks, even if their cattle go missing or dies of natural death still they try to compensate for the animal which the department does not give them. A thorough investigation is done regarding the animals also. The bite marks are checked clearly & if the attacks are genuine then they surely grant them compensation. 🙏
